Holy crap, Ron, you have no idea how much I can relate and how much I needed to hear this. I'm in a recovery process myself and this kind of encouragement and advice is invaluable. I'll be revisiting this when shit gets dark. Thank you.

I've saved the link to this video to my home screen on my phone. This is my third time watching this video and it's one that will help me to grow and fight through my depression. Bumblefoot really put things in a fresh perspective for me. I too treat my depression like it's an invasive being but after seeing this video, I realize that he is right; the depression is not a separate entity but rather a part of who I am and something I manifested. I can learn to be in control of my depression and this video gave me the courage. I was shaking the whole time watching this. He explained it all in ways I couldn't much like music becomes our voice as he describes- I call it "Lyrical Therapy". I'm a 21 year old Manic Depressive with Anxiety Disorder and a traumatic past but I know now I can move forward and I can be in control of my depression. Thank you so much Bumblefoot for doing this video. You have no idea how good it felt to watch this and see I'm not alone. When you spoke those few words at the very end, I convulsed into tears because a lot of times, I feel I don't matter. I often feel I'm a burden to others and I feel the world would be better without me. Thank you Bumblefoot. Thank you!

Ron... all I can say is "I love you". YOU matter, you're needed and you rock. We met during some of the darkest days of your life and I am so very thankful that you made it through those days. You have touched so many peoples lives in so many ways and still continue to do so. I can't tell you how full of joy my heart is to see you healthy and happy and grounded again. ❤

Well, I've met you on that crazy "keeping people around" not to be alone, and I'm so glad I helped some how, because you also helped a lot.. Your music is so powerful, that a world without you would be a shame... When I saw you when you were eating food that have better life then yours (haha) it was so goddamn cool.. I told you "Im so proud, you look amazing" then you laugh.. but yes, I meant every word, I could not express how happy I was to see how you were doing good.. And now you are doing even better!

I love this video. But isn’t the suggestion to simply “let go” of your depression sort of like suggesting that he just “let go” of his physical pain when he tweaks/pops his neck? Perhaps I’m misinterpreting his words. I truly want to just let go of depression when it attacks, but it doesn’t seem like an effective method when I try it.

Very interesting perspective, but how should it help when you force yourself to do things you hate doing? Like he said, you feel uncomfortable and unnatural while doing it, so why would this help me to get rid of depression?

+Humberto Martins I don´t have social phobia, I just lost interest in talking to most other people and pretend to be interested in their lifes and overall shallow conversations. But actually you are right.
