    A tire stripped off mine. I emailed YakAttack and they sent me a new wheel in a matter of days. No questions asked. Very Cool!

    I've been using the Wilderness systems cart for about 3 years and while it does appear sturdier than this YakAttack cart. This cart seems a lot more versatile and it definitely folds and stores easier and more compact than the Wilderness Systems cart.

    I’d really need to have the need for space to consider this over my wildy cart. This looks like a lot of extra time putting the thing together and I’m pretty sure the wildy can be easily adjusted.

    Mine came yesterday, and this thing is beefy! It's way heavier/ bigger than it looks on video and extremely stable with a kayak on it. I have a hobie lynx fully loaded with 100ah battery, trolling motor, power pole, fish finder, dewalt tough 2 drawer box, crate full of tackle and this makes it easy to launch / pull out of the water. The lynx has wide flat bottom and is extremely unstable side to side with the rails going up the middle, but this cart allows you to turn the rails sideways for all the stability. The rails are 44 inches long! You could be hammered drunk with one eye and still load a kayak with ease 😂. For me and my kayak setup it was well worth the money.

    Thanks for the video. I could use more videos to help me inexpensively get to using my kayak more. Right now im car topping it on my Subaru Outback. I would like yo go the trailer route but not sure i am ready to invest a ton of money into a trailer yet. Thanks again for the videos.

    Depending on other potential uses and needs.......I bought a utility trailer and put crossbars on it. I was able to justify the expense because I also needed a trailer for hauling yard junk and other misc. stuff. At the time I wouldn't have invested that much in a trailer strictly for Kayaking, but it fixed 2 issues at once (the need for a yak trailer and the need for a truck).

    How heavy is your kayak?? Cuz mine is pretty dang heavy and 12'7 ... I feel it's not far enough off the ground to clear the stern when bow is lifted high enough to avoid having to bend over and essentially drag your vessel.... so you could probably get a cart that would accommodate your needs for a good bit cheaper.. thanks for info on new gear though

    How well do those kickstands work? I'm short and therefore have short arms. I really struggle getting my yak on my existing cart when I'm on a steeper boat launch because it always rolls around, despite having a kickstand. Id those things hold it steady on an incline I'll be an owner.

    Looking for one where I don't need to get waist deep in the water to prep before going back on land. Especially On the ocean it can be brutal. Narrow plastic tires are the worst on sand and noisy on pavement. So far it seems no one has made one to address this, not even close.

    Is it just me or are the top rails bowed?

  • @RubiconJoey

    @RubiconJoey

    That was an early prototype where tolerances weren't dialed in so the rails didn't fit tightly in their sockets. New ones will have the top rails actually slightly bowed up. This helps with making sure the rubber bunk pads make contact with the hull.

    Ease of carting my 100+ pound kayak is ultimately what keeps me from taking it out at all. It's been 3 years since I've fished from a kayak. Hanging the kayak from the ceiling of my garage doesn't help any. Though I'm sure that this cart, like Boonedox Landing Gear, is expensive enough to keep me from buying it. Anyone in CO wanna buy a kayak? 😅

    I have a C-tug with tractor wheels. First time it broke was 3 months after I got it. One wheel dropped into a shallow 3" hole in the launch parking lot. Broke the support/connecting plastic on one wheel axle. That was the KBF National Championship at Guntersville 2020. I repaired it with 2 part epoxy and it held until yesterday when it broke again, same place. I run an Old Town Big Water 132 PDL loaded it probably weighs 200 to 250 pounds with all my gear. Going to Mountain Road Trading Post this morning to look at and probably buy the Yak Attack cart. I'm done with the c-tug.
