Unsolved Mysteries opening theme with more creepier than this. It wouldn't give you nightmares you would literally s*** your pants in fear..

Fox owned the 90s with The X files, Married with Children, In Living Color, Martin, Living Single, New York Undercover, Classic Simpsons, Roc, Cops, King of The Hill etc. Never did they ever match or surpass that era.

*The truth is still out there* I remember watching this show on channel 5 with my parents until 2002. My most vivid memory was watching the episode 'Squeeze' and I was terrified by the fact that the episode's antagonist (Eugene Victor Tooms) could get through the smallest of spaces with ease.

I watched the series with my parents when I was around 7 years old. Tooms never scared me much, but another episode did, and that episode was "Space". I know that it is regarded as one of the least favored episodes, but the face of the spectral entity left me afraid to look at the ceiling when lying in bed attempting to fall asleep for years. Despite that, I was instantly hooked on this series and still regard it as one of the best shows ever created.

@@thelonious2213 I actually liked that episode too, mainly due to how fanboyish Mulder gets. But I do remember dreaming about that face for several years. The sfx makes it so creepy. Never undstood why people disliked it. "Shadows" also scared the life out of me because of the poltergeist. Its a tragic but particularly brutal episode.

How is it possible for one 45 second video to bring an entire decade's worth of memories coming pouring back?

Just hearing this theme when I was a kid scared the crap out of me. I raced to change the channel as soon as it came up. But hearing it now, I guess it no longer has that effect on me. Probably because I'm more of a skeptic and the song has been parodied so much.

Ah yes, the intro that traumatized the hell out of me as a child. I remember being in the living room playing with my toys while my sister was watching the TV. As soon as this intro came on and I saw the UFO I was immediately terrified. I would literally have nightmare all the time of being outside my house with a UFO above me and this song playing 😅 now I freakn’ love this show haha

The best theme song ever. I don’t know what it was about this theme that amazed me when I was little. I loved it back then and still love it as an adult. This theme song will always remind me of my grandpa because one, he was interested in UFOs and stuff like that. The second reason why this will remind me of him is because whenever I heard this theme song I would look at the tv, look at him as he would whistle along with the tune then I would look back at the tv. I had to have been either 3 or 4 years old back then. I’ll never forget those memories. RIP Pappy. I miss you.

First time I saw "Squeeze" @0:27 as they went into Tooms' apartment I was like hey that's the from the opening credits!!!

This sound or whatever synth is used is so fucking good even to this fucking day, timeless!

Don't know why the man pointing the UFO it's so creepy. Still gives me the chills. Perhaps being presented as still pictures feels like photos of an actual sighting. Or the unnatural color of the ship highlights the idea that's not from here. Amazing clip.

The late 90's was peak era for spooky stuff on terrestrial broadcast airwaves. X-Files was on television. Art Bell was on the radio. Nowadays you'd have to search online to find spooky content this good.

I was scared to death as an child watching this. Had a lot of nightmares and walking in sleep. But i loved to watch this masterpiece from 90s

I love everything about this music and the video played. Perfect overall. Chris Carter, David and Gillian made a crushing tandem.

Having grown up in the 80’s and 90’s this intro brings a flood gate of great memories of my youth. We had such great TV in those decades and the moves were just as good. Today with 500+ channels, their is nothing worth watching and the moves are nothing put nonsense. We had the best TV shows and Specials back then and lived in the last of the best decades in America..it was the party of a life time and we lived it well. We had great shows like, Falcon Crest, Dallas, Knots Landing, Dynasty,The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, The Six Million dollar man, The Dukes of Harzard, BJ and the Bear, Air Wolf, Battle Star Galactica! Knight Rider and for the first time ever the motion pictures of, Star Wars, Star Trek, Superman, Spider Man, Close Encounters of the third kind, E.T., Poltergeist, Jaws, Friday the 13th, Aliens, (No not the ones being aloud to just walk into our country right now in 2023), Predator and many more… We also celebrated the bicentennial in the 70’s when the entire country celebrated it from Apr 1, 1975 - Jul 4, 1976. It was like the 4th of July every day. It was fantastic!.…it was such a better time to be alive in this county. We never had the problems that are here today. It was unheard of for kids being shot and men walking around dressed as women. It was the last of America and we were lucky to have experienced it.

Ghosts and aliens were such a big thing in the 80s and 90s, and then the internet came and ruined all the mystique because nobody could reproduce anything interesting in HD quality. Thus all the ghosts and aliens disappeared overnight.

I don't remember too much of this, but I know I watched some episodes in the 90's but wthat I remember the most (Besides the music, hehe) us the "ghost" at 0:21. When I first saw that it instantly got burnt into my brain. I thought it was so cool and I was even at the time obsessed with the paranormal. Everytime I knew the X-files started I wanted to see this scene. Good old times!
