What I loved most about X-Files was watching Mulder question authority without hesitation, constantly challenging it and not being a push over. It was inspirational honestly.

That’s what free people are supposed to do. It was the Founding Fathers of the United States originally intended for citizens to govern themselves and always question authority.

I love Mulder. He stands up for what he believes in and doesn't give two fucks about how people see him. Job well done.

fucking love this scene. There's some iconic scenes that you never forget watching this show and this is one of them. "then what can I say" I love how Mulder knows from the get go that they're not going to listen to him and you can see how agitated he is at the forthcoming BS they're going to give him. He just can't win and he knows it.

Agreed! This is the episode where you finally see the frustration factor, really take hold. Everyone knows now, from this point on, it's going to be an uphill battle for Mulder & Scully. (Always loved how increasingly pissed off, McGrath got during the conversation). However, I have to admit the final segment after this one, where McGrath and Deep Throat are talking is my iconic favorite of this episode. At that point, you had to wonder if Deep Throat is really an ally or an enemy to Mulder. Just brilliant.Deep Throat: "What he knows . . (snicker) . . what he thinks he knows. Ahhhh . . . . Always keep your friends close, Mr. McGrath . . . . but keep your enemies closer".

I have this whole thing memorized when I was probably 11 years old just from watching this episode. It is indeed iconic and one of the first scenes where we got a chance to see him bust out and get a little pissed off.

@@nicolasdantomio289 - It was without question, my favorite show throughout the 90's. Always tried to make sure I was home to watch it. I always liked the "Monster-of-the-Week" Episodes, but what really hooked me was the MythArc of the series.

@@nicolasdantomio289 - If there was one MythArc episode to choose it would be S1E2 "Deep Throat" mainly because of the last segment where Deepthroat and Mulder talk - Deepthroat: "Mr. Mulder, why are those like yourself, who believe in the existence of Extra-Terrestrial life on this Earth, not dissuaded by all the evidence to the contrary?" Mulder responds: "Because, . . all the evidence to the contrary, is not entirely dissuasive." Deepthroat: "Precisely"! As Deepthroat begins to walk away . . . Mulder: "They're here, aren't they." Deepthroat: "Mr. Mulder . . . THEY'VE been here for a long, long time." That was the hook that made this show a must see. As far as Standalones, I'll have to think about that only because there were so many.

@@nicolasdantomio289 - The French interpretation is probably more correct. If I remember the storyline right, the Aliens were here before Man came on the scene. Chris Carter did an incredible job, piecing all this together to keep it entertaining. 9 Seasons and than an additional 2 over a decade later. We may not see another series like this for quite sometime, if ever.

The X Files the best science fiction drama TV show made of the 90s and it outstand all the other shows during that time. It was very believable and everyone was amazed by this masterpiece show made by Chris Carter himself. It's no wonder he had a huge fan base. I believe this show was a work of art. The TV Show that made people think that aliens may actually really do exist and that the government was hiding the truth. The truth is in reality I honestly think that aliens and flying saucer do exist. This show was an absolute major deal and so big for its time. It's too bad the show started to go down hill. Some fans love every season and some people only love the old seasons. The first five Seasons are amazing and Season 6 is pretty good. The Season has some really damn good episodes and some meh ok ones.

I love the first five seasons and I pretend there's no continuation from that point on. I remember abandoning the series at the second episode from season seven when I realized there was no ambiguity anymore, or at least I felt something was missing and I just abandoned it. But it's still my favorite show until today.

Lami such an awesome scene. Without Mulder the truth will never come to light. There would be no X Files cases. Mulder is the main character who will do anything to expose the lies and try and and seek out the truth and bring it as evidence to expose the ultimate villain of the CSM. Who hides the truth.

BY THE OTHER SIDE WE HAVE A VERY GREAT ROLL FROM FREDRICK COFFIN IN EARLY YEARS, A SHAME H EPLAYED SO FEW FOR X FILES, HE WAS SO TALENTOUS AND CONVINCING, I SAW THIS SCENE MANY TIMES JUST FOR KNOWING THIS STAR.
