Undoubtedly the best singer that ever graced the X Factor stage. I can't get enough of this woman's talent and i don't think I'm alone in this summation.

Lmao, I said to myself when I clicked on the link out of curiosity, "Yeah, there's no way I'm gonna watch 50 minutes of this," and 50 minutes later, here I am. Lmao, she got it.

I'm 78 now, and a professional musician since the age of five. I've travel the world several times; and I've known many top performers. Sam Bailey is one of the best ever.

+Daniel Mora-Have just watched some of the singers from 2015 who were declared as Fantastic-Marvellous-Best singer ever heard etc etc. Sam Bailey leaves them all for dead & was not given the chance by people like Simon Cowell to really get the proper encouragement. The initial song left the Judges floored, it turned the audience heads in the foyer-surely that should have said something?? She just went from strength to strength because she has such a strong marvellous voice. Sam is not just terrific-she is totally outstanding

Such honest, genuine, true, raw talent! Is even better considering how humble she is. She first showed up unassuming for her audition, blew everyone away, and kept getting better with each performance. A true underdog story. I'd absolutely go watch her live any day.

She won for a reason, this woman is a star. She can go toe to toe with big-voiced divas like Mariah, Whitney, Adele, Celine. I mean every performance was 10/10 and the one with Nicole was one of the best duos I have ever heard. So strong!

It’s because she is older and not the typical skinny 22 year old... They just don’t know a real powerful voice... The 800 or so must be young or black...

Its criminal how this woman isn't a huge star. Her talent is just incredible and undeniable. She has one of the best vocals of today and is probably the only British singer that could keep up with the likes of Mariah, Celine, Christina & Whitney. Leona of course being the other one, but Sam is just on another level. I hope and pray she comes back with a huge album featuring the best writers. Its a disgrace that Cowell never pushed for her. Failing all else, she should represent us at Eurovision on the global stage with a storming song. She deserves to be noticed by the world!

+Imaani Brown Fact is, great singers are not common--but there are quite a few. But without the great song writers, they don't go far. And 2nd fact, when they are this good AND look like--Beyonce, you name it, they STILL have a bitch of a time if they don't write great songs. Point? Song writing is the rare talent.

Thinking about it, I realized in addition to song writing, which is so rare, acting is another way. Think Jennifer Hudson, she sings like nobodies business in my mind anyway, and then she takes to the stage and lands an epic part. Some people just have it all, same with Dana Owens (Queen Latifah). Branching off, it also shows that being a little heavy does not have to stop you, both Hudson and Latifah are big girls--but not as big as their talent.

Her voice is just perfect. She never sings a flat note.

Fantastic voice. When some singers hit those high notes, it just hurts the ears, when Sam hits them, it sounds soothing.

The metamorphosis of this woman is astounding. You see a lady first off as a prison guard and then hear this absolutely out of this world voice. Then you quickly start to adore the fact that she's quite literally too good. So good in fact that the judges and/or whomever is behind the music selection has her singing a large portion of the most difficult to sing perfect pop songs in history. The shows staff realized exactly what hopefully we all do, that she can sing any of those famous songs that you grew up too, and sing them at a level far beyond the performances you heard live yourself when you were a child. I still don't think she even realizes the story her face tells while she sings the lyrics. She sings the songs all the way they should be song... Perfect! Brilliant Sam, simply brilliant!

Every bit as good as Celine, Beyonce and Lady Gaga and everyone else! - Magnificent! I thought our Australian contestants were great but she takes the world crown!

She makes singing look so easy, damn. She sings like "Ah yeah, pff, lemme just belt that note right there."

Her performance with Nicole set fire to the stage and I gotta say she is the most outstanding vocalist I have seen!!!

Being from America I don't get the opportunity to watch x factor UK or the voice UK on television so I turn to youtube to see who's new and hot. I must say Sam Bailey has one of the most amazing, powerful voices i have ever heard! There is a whole lot of Talent coming out of the UK, keep the videos coming please!

WOW! Oh my Lord! I was born in 1943 and grew up with an old TV show called "The Lone Ranger". In the beginning of the series the announcer would say: "He was a fabulous individual"... and when I first heard Sam Bailey sing, I was totally overwhelmed and my immediate thought was "She is a fabulous singer!". Such a incredible voice and such power. I have listened to many singers over my lifetime, and I can say without equivocation that she is on a very small list of my favorite female singers. Truly inspiring and touching my heart deeply. I might add, with all of the falsehoods and out-right lies concerning Auto-Tune in the music business these days, it is a welcome breath of fresh air to hear her perform.... and perform she does, so eloquently... so "fabulously"....

Sam's voice is pure gold....it's so malleable...it can mould itself to suit any emotion in the song.....I love your voice Sam...may God bless you abundantly

This is the reality of the entertainment business: for every Sam Bailey who comes on the scene, their are thousands who are working in correctional facilities (as she did), fast food joints, banks, law offices, singing for friends and family, or doing whatever job that puts money on the table consistently. She is wonderful and I pray Godspeed to her and her family.

OMG, She takes on Adele, Celine, Whitley, Streisand, Beyonce, Leona and even Sinatra.Some of them are even better the originals, amazing....

The gradual transformation from plain, frumpy, prison guard with a hell of a voice, to a stunning superstar is astonishing. I fear for her husband though. I'm sure he must be having a difficult time adjusting to his wife's new-found fame and beauty.

I'm sure her husband is beaming with pride for his wife's new direction and all the acceptance and compliments she's been given so far. He seems to be her rock to keep her stable. Just as she is for him. You can hear it in her tones and how she speaks of her family just how much she loves each of them. I believe she did this not just for herself but for them as well. As this helped them better their situation in life.

Tunia BJC All you say is probably true. All I'm saying is the entertainment business is full of predator sharks looking for people to devour and lead astray. Sam wouldn't be the first to experience sudden fame and fall prey to such people, but the fact that she's older than most and already has a family, could be her saving grace. And I certainly hope it will be.

Make no mistake, this kind of fame is very fragile. It's a constant struggle to stay within the radar of the public. One hope it's the talent that stay in the public and not private life. Talents from reality shows comes and goes. Rarely many manage to stay at the height of their notoriety on this kind of show. The next season most public will forget about the old contestants and await the new batch to be amuse and entertaine. One fight to be the exception and not just a blip in the radar like many has been and will be.

I'm just under two minutes into the video and all I can say is HOLY SHIT!! This woman is incredible!!! I was reading a book in another window and this was apparently part of a playlist I had running in the background. I was only half paying attention to it and when I heard this woman describe herself, then say that she was going to sing 'Listen', I started to pay a bit more attention...then she started singing, and I literally stopped dead for a few seconds and was in utter awe. Cant wait to hear the rest of this vid! Then I'm heading to iTunes to see if I can find more of her stuff. Great job!!

Flanagan Valdez Gaminlvez no she won 2013 but parted ways with Simon Cowell and now she’s no where. Her website hasn’t been updated since 2017. She had another baby and had an accident with a ladder early 2018. No news on her since then.

She is amazing, she is as good as the best singers that have been singing professionally for years. Who would have expected a not so feminine prison official to sing so perfectly. It's not only the voice but the mastery. What an improvement of looks and even of style. Remember how humble she appeared at her audition.
