South Pacific as a whole was brutal towards Brandon, Coach used him and his religion in a malicious way, for payback against not what Brandon did, what Russell did to him in HvV, aside from the wanting to get rid of someone because she's hot and he's scared he'll be unfaithful, all I can do, is feel sorry for him

@@varisrevolver4061 the brandon snapping part was staged. Brandon was fired and he asked if he could have an outburst moment to get voted off, and that's why he dumped the rice. Was just for the camera's then they decided it was too much so they just got rid of him at the challenge.

The season 45 reunion really showcased why we need the old reunion back. Like the Bruce and Katurah rivalry felt like such a big thing during the season, but it was never talked about during the reunion because no one saw the show or knew how they would be portrayed. Bruce wasn't aware of how much Katurah hated him and Katurah didn't know how bad and Bruce focused her edit would be. Definitely missed out on what could've been a fun reunion moment with Katurah being salty and trying to defend herself against the edit and Bruce just vibing lol

I only know Jerri from HvV, and that clip of her getting booed off stage broke my heart honestly. Crazy how cruel audiences could be back in the early 2000s, I don’t think that would’ve happened today.

Despite some of the nasty things that Jeff and some of the contestants have said during these reunions, the audience will always be the worst part of the reunions for me. Rarely ever do they add anything of note, and in some cases they just serve to bully the contestants. I'm still pissed about how they treated Jerri during the All-Stars reunion. Unfortunately since they're a collective of unknown people, they can't really be called out on their behavior.

I remember online commentators making light of it, back when it first happened, by glibly writing, "Hey, it's a New York audience!"

I can't even watch new era reunions - they're SO inauthentic and tbh, particularly cruel to losing finalists who are still stinking, filthy, and have had 30 mins tops to process the fact that they lost before they have to put on a happy face

Imagine if the new era got live reunions. Season 45 would've been awkward with Dee and Austin being split up and Katura hating Bruce.

Poor Brandon man. Even coach was sitting there like damn that’s a too far.

I miss the live reunions. I love seeing what people think after they have seen what everyone else has done.

The "New Era" of Survivor has come with some unpopular changes since Survivor 41 so I can see why they would want to avoid live audiences for a while. The whole show is playing it extra safe on who they cast and what political opinions are allowed to be spoken out. Even though he show now has devolved a highly chaotic twisty gameplay, the whole "microcosm of society" concept of the show has never felt as controlled as it is nowadays.

I honestly think the best player usually never wins anymore. Back when there was real skill... I know it's entertainment but too much is too much.

@MultiJejje I believe the twists are not an isolated problem that just spawned out of the ether but more like a symptom of the problem I mentioned. The reason there are so many twists is that the production team doesn't trust the contestants to be entertaining enough on their own. Whether they are or aren't is not the point. The point is that production itself doesn't trust the contestants to be entertaining on their own because that's not the casting criteria anymore. The casting criteria is being diverse, having the correct safe CBS approved political talking points, being able to pull off a perfect 10/10 😱shocked soyface😱 on demand whenever Jeff announces yet another minblowing game twist for 79th time this season. Even Jeff said he no longer wants to cast villains anymore. So that's why we have all those twists. Twists = entertainment nowadays. Enjoy!

The worst reunion moment for me BY FAR is Kat talking about her breast implants in the blood vs water reunion. It’s the most second hand embarrassment I get from any moment in the shows entire history and I don’t say that lightly

It’s so wild how the 20’s and 30’s seasons brought so many messy moments. While in a way, I’m glad that there’s been accountability with these reality shows not exploiting people with inappropriate scenarios. Sadly, we’ve flipped the script super far now where these shows are too scared to explore conflict and exploring raw authentic emotions. Positive or negative.

The funny thing to me about trying to shame Chris for lying is that today it just reads like hype, because lying in Survivor is only bad if it makes people mad at you and loses you the game. Chris is a god-tier BS-er and it won him the game, so hearing about how good at it he is just makes me love him more

That's as bad as him wasting 10 minutes of a 20 minutes reunion, shitting on Dan, and spent not even 6 minutes on Rodney and Will, (I say 20, because the remaining 12 was for the next season)

I wish they still did reunions after the season had aired. I know not everyone loved live finales, I don’t know if I miss them being live but there’s a lot of machinations that go on behind the scenes that contestants don’t get to see until it airs and I think it brings something interesting to the reunions. Time has passed, we get to see them cleaned up, if relationships lasted, how people felt about their portrayal and plays that happened they didn’t know about, etc. There’s something missing when they just toss them from defending their game to the jury, the vote, winner announcement and the “reunion” all in a time crunch with no breathing room.

Allegedly, part of the cast on IotI were unhappy with the edit (especially about Dan) and were planning a revolt/walkout, and some assumed that it played a role in why they don’t do live reunions anymore

Sometimes I just have ask myself this: “What would Survivor be without Jeff himself?”

My 2 picks are Rosie O'Donnell hosting the Marquesas reunion or them showing Stephanie Dill's audition tape during the Thailand reunion with her being completely nude!

For me, I remember one time that the reunion was interrupted for Boston Rob talking about his book, and the SIA moment. that was terrible

Jeff should hire Adam Klein as a consultant for the show instead of ragging on his business because he helped Kaleb get cast and the show staff cast two quitters. Adam Klein actually has a lot of great ideas.

Everyone reunion moment from the new era

The Rudy and Richard part of the Caramoan reunion kills me every time.

Dan only claimed to be a superfan. He kept claiming that “flippers never win”. That alone shows that he’s only a casual fan.

I don’t miss the reunions, they very rarely involved anyone saying something interesting. I don’t like the immediate after parties much either, and I struggle to think of anything else that could cap off the finale. I guess I’m just doomed never to be happy. I do like that, before going on his rant about how he brought greatness to the game, Russell addressed Brandon directly and said he’d sit down and shut up if that’s what his nephew wanted. And I’m pretty sure Brandon was in on it, that the whole thing was cooked up between them to try to keep that rapidly fading Hantz star power going a little while longer.

15:40 Ok, but this is actually one of my few favorite moments from the new era after shows! We never would’ve gotten to see Jamie’s (and everyone else’s) reaction to learning about the fake idol, and I really enjoy seeing people react to huge surprises.

Right, that moment is actually not that bad considering there were so many fake idols that season and they were all epic fails! Sarah found the fake idol that Carolyn planted and she got voted out with it in her pocket and they never talked about it. Matty found the fake idol that Danny planted, but he didn't bring his bag and he did have a suspicion that it was fake and they never talked about it. The only one I guess that was worth mentioning was the one Jamie found that Matthew made since she gave it to Kane to hold on to and he left the game with it in his pocket

I’m not sure if production is just being cheap or if there are budget cuts, or both, but it’s getting really obvious and the quality of the show is suffering for it. Obviously this is why they are not doing live reunions anymore.

Yea, that made no sense, if someone isn't allowed to be at the reunion, why should all the other pre-merge boots plus Corrine be forced to sit in the audience? If they were trying to hide the fact that Brandon wasn't welcome, they didn't have to, the audience would have understood with one person missing why he wasn't there. Richard Hatch was still invited to the All-Stars reunion after what he did to Sue, but they re-arranged the seating so she wouldn't have to sit next to him since she quit right after he was voted out. At the David vs. Goliath reunion, Alec wasn't allowed to come because he broke his NDA and obviously Dan wasn't allowed to come to the Island of the Idols reunion, but they didn't force anyone to sit in the audience trying to cover it up because they didn't have to and they didn't have to at the Caramoan reunion either.

41 and 42 merge together in my brain I constantly forget which details came from which game. 44 I really enjoyed, 43 and 45 are okay? Honestly 44 I feel is peak for prominent characters who are also good strategists. And some who are not.
