theres a legal amount on how small ur shinguards are allowed to be. a lot of players get the minimum size as they dislike wearing them which i believe is the case w griezmann

The mercurial flylite was always my go to nonprotective shin guard. I loved the flexibility, light weight, and how the rubber backing gripped my leg

I've seen the custom shin guards of Asamoah Gyan (the Ghana international). The older brother played a couple games in my team and he wears a lot of his brothers old stuff like the costumes EvoPowers with Gyan #3 and the Ghanian flag on the heel. The shin guards are made of carbon fiber with the name, number and flag in the middle.

I really like them, I've been wearing them for more than around 4 years now. It feels like you're not wearing anything. One thing that bugs me about typical shinguards is the way they keep slipping, these ones are very adjustable under your socks.

You get these for aesthetics as they look better under your socks. + people who wear these usually wear a pair of white socks over there socks because they think it looks cool along with the slim design

The thing is my shins are super sensitive and like nice shin guards that aren’t as flexible hurt to wear so these would sound nice in that aspect... unless I get smashed in the shin

this video actually made me go out and buy j guards, thank god i finally found some nice and out of the way.

I've wore those kind of shin guards for 2 years now and I love them they are so much more comfortable.

I hate shin guards and these were my fave growing up when I played. Cheap and subtle on my feet / shins. However, I didn't realize how bendable they were lol! Pretty scary to now think about it.

And once at a tournamnet they game shin guards to people who didn't have any and those were seriously paper the shell was so thin 10 stacked papers were easier to rip and the foam was so thin it was just funny

I wear these in a size xs. Offer virtually no protection but an easy way to get around the loophole of having to wear pads without providing any bulkiness or discomfort.

My J guards are fine, I tried flexing them like you did but was unable so either they toughen up over time or they changed the plastic. From my experience they work fine, the only complaint I have is they slide around pretty easily, but since I got new socks I don't have that problem anymore.

They're not worth the retail price in my opinion, nor are they all that protective. They're fairly thick as well.

I just bought them because they are light and that so I can have a better performance while I’m playing. But as he said it does not give much protection which means there is a higher chance of injury. I am most likely to wear them in training instead of match’s just because I don’t want heavy shin guards on me.

I have worn a lot of different mid range price shinguards which should be better than the J guards and I keep coming back to the J guards because I feel they are more protective because whenever I got hit in the multiple shinguards I’ve worn the ones I have felt the least amount of impact(actually feeling the hit) is the j guards

Ive been wearing the same mercurial lite since i was in 6th grade and im in 12th now but ive never had any issues with players sliding tackling or kicking at my shins so i guess i dont really care what kind of shin guard i have lmao

I don’t know how this popped up in my feed, I used to love your shoe reviews. Haven’t seen a video since the superfly 5s. I played 4 years of varsity, in the super y as a kid, and continued playing as an adult in Random “elite” leagues all in j guards haha. They don’t stop pain from impact, they make it manageable. I had a coach who played low level pro and he said shin guards don’t do much, if someone is gonna blow through your leg, they are gonna blow through it. Oddly in a lower skilled league I may want more protection. Some of those guys don’t know how to lay a proper tackle and come in more reckless.

These are great they’re comfortable light and low profile along with actually doing an okay job

In New York city, the PSAL does not let you play with this shin guards, the referees will check your shin guards lml.

I have seen guys wearing regular socks, insoles of boots or pieces of a fucking yoga matt cut in a shape of shinguard so this j guard looks like a huge improvement to me.

I have been wearing these for about two years and never realized that right where my bruises where was right under where my shin guards were.

I believe its very pliable because it acts like a crumple zone so basically it absorbs impact rather than repelling it back, which is more important in preventing injuries especially in bones like the shin that is very rigid to begin with yet has no way of distributing any perpendicular forces not like your feet knees hips ribs spine etc

This is nothing like that. There's no impact absorption tech here. Just flimsy plastic and thin, cheap foam. They work as shin guards and offer some protection for sure, but there are certainly way more protective shin guards out there.

I use those shin guards. They are way better than any other shin guard I have used, and I have used shin guards that are 50 bucks. Just because they bend doesn't mean they are bad. In fact, if they are too stiff it may hurt the leg more because the energy of the kick will be transferred into the leg.

I have just ordered a pair of these. A few recent games I have used squashed Starbucks coffee cups. My previous shin pads were too heavy and cumbersome and uncomfortable. I have had some bad injuries through football, none of them oils have been prevented by good shin pads. I need something lightweight and comfortable that it isn't going to move around

The Phantoms are definitely thinner.

Just to be clear, I don't think these shin guards are bad, they just don't provide much protection, which is kind of the whole point of wearing shin guards in the first place. I guess that's not very clear.

The lighter the better, its like you're not even wearing them because alot of people practice and train without guard's.
