As a long time Tennessee season ticket holder I can guarantee you that those seats aren't sold..There's a block of about 8 seats on either side of the box with that view and they aren't listed for sale..I have sat near those seats before and they are just empty.

As a Wisconsin fan, they actually built the upper deck to sort of "wing out" at an angle from the press box so that if you're on the top deck you can still see the whole field which I think is a good way to handle that

2:41, I went to U of Iowa, those seats are in the student section. It's first come first serve. We don't have assigned seating. Those seats probably are the last to go lol

At sold out games, everyone in the student section is standing up, so your view isn't even obstructed.

The Iowa one is the student section so they’re “sold” but not really. My understanding is Iowa student section is GA and it almost never gets that full where it’s a problem outside the massive games.

I came here to say this as an Iowa alum. Student section is general admission, and they tend to pack it out organically, so anyone there would be standing anyway.

Having sat in many old baseball stadiums, I have sat directly behind those huge iron beams that hold up the overhang roofs. Not only can't you see but now there is no room for your feet.

Im Arizona alumni, they probablydo sell those seats but everyone moves to better seats since they dont sell many tickets i would always buy the cheapest seat and just head straight for the studnet section since it always had plenty of available seats

Those are some hilarious seats. Surprised at how little were object/structural pole style blocking seats, mostly just press-box style ones. I think the worst one presented is the Tulane one. It hits you with a triple whammy, first the press-box blocking, then the object blocking by the lights/sound system, and is in a modern updated area in an arena that can sell out.

At that rate, I would rather just stand or take an empty seat for the entire game

I remember exploring a small fcs schools stadium and finding some of those types of seats blocked by the press box. I didn't realize just how common that was.

Worse yet, recent pro stadium builds/renovations also had this issue and did exactly as you mentioned to resolve the obstruction. Yankee Stadium's center field club seats being one of the most publicized examples.

I’m glad MSU has never blocked seat views with their stadium expansions over the years… absolutely insane. Obviously most of them are not for sale in these videos, but that Oregon one was the worst, especially being absolutely full

Former wildcat here, those seats are not sold to the public. Those seats that were shown in the video were regular used as a "nap" bench for the over intoxicated alumni. (The student section is across the stadium, so students don't sit here regularly)

Washington fan here - The entire south side of the stadium was basically rebuilt from scratch about a decade ago, so that's why it looks so uniform with the rest of that section.

Grant Field in Atlanta has some steel beams on the Lower East stands that block your view...A student sitting there will constantly be weaving left and right to see around the beam.

Been a buckeye fan my whole life and can guarantee that the horseshoe may have some of the worst obstructed areas in college football. If you are sitting under the second bowl there is a huge chance a pillar will block your view.

Freshman year at Ohio State I had a giant 4 ft wide concrete pillar directly in front of my seat.

As a former USC student, I can say the student section is directly across from him. USC charges $80,000 a year for middle class students to attend, makes them pay for football tickets, then shoves them in the northeast endzone. Fight On!

The suite box at Oregon was built in the 80s. I think the bad angle was created when the south side of the stadium was replaced in 2002.

The seats in Neyland Stadium are probably reserved for Georgia, Florida, and Alabama fans.

Why is there a Cincinnati flag at the Tulane stadium?

I am a die hard washington fan grandpa has been a season ticket holder for 54 years and if I’m not mistaken those seats are usually sold to opposing fans because they look to be up top on Washington’s sideline and that is where they try to put all the opposing fans at!

I have worked at the Washington stadium as event security. I hear a lot of complaints about the seating arrangement of the stadium. From limited access for the disabled to the press box being extremely old and with thin walls. Although the view is beautiful, it is actually one of the worst stadiums in the Pac12. And that doesn't even touch the rust issue.

The word you're looking for is criminal.... It's criminal for them to sell tickets to these events in that seating

The bad part about the Tulane one is that stadium is pretty new. All the others can at least be blamed on awkward expansions. That was just bad construction from the beginning.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I went to Tulane and they built that stadium 6-7 years after I graduated. Like all alumni I was asked to donate. I did not, though I doubt the $20 I might have donated would have fixed the problem.

I hope you realize it's mostly just the mid week November games that have attendance issues in the MAC. Go to a Saturday game at Ohio or Toledo and they are NOT general admission. People do go to MAC games! This perception caused by the random cold Tuesday nights at 8 pm sucks for the conference

I've been fortunate enough to get close to field-level seats, but if I bought these seats and they didn't tell me they were obstructed, I would definitely wind up on the internet for throwing a big-time fit. People who buy these cheap sets likely work hard for every buck, and to get these types of seats is just disrespectful.

Some of those "cheap" seats cost 50 bucks or even more! That $100+ for a pair of tickets, PLUS another $40 - $50 to park your car!

I want to see him do other sports in the future! Would love to see him at a stadium like Kenilworth Road in Luton, England (Home of Luton Town) which is almost 120 years old and in the away stand, you have to go through a group of houses and apartments to get to your seats.

I wouldn't worry too much about anyone sitting in that seat at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa. For their game against Oklahoma on 9/16 2023, they sold out the stadium for the first time since 2009. And this was after removing several thousand seats when they put in a massive press box. So, that tells you everyone you need to know about TU.

Poor MAC schools... if only ALL FBS schools were required to compete 'wherever'. The solution is that, outside of conference games, it should be a 'blind draw'. Dates go in the hat, and out comes a schedule. If Ohio State had to go play at Toledo, or if Georgia had to travel to Western Michigan, it would be a MUCH more 'level' playing field and the smaller schools would get more relevance to their non-conference schedule and get to sell out their stadiums. The MAC ranks highest among all NCAA Division I FBS conferences for graduation rates. But at the expense of not being 'factories' for the NFL.

Moral of the story: don’t build press boxes

I feel with some of these obstructed areas, maybe the stadiums could place snack boxes or restaurants…

The seats at the University of Iowa shown at the 2:24 mark is in the student section, and students stand the entire game.

Tulsa just sold out with OU rolling into town on the 16th, so the unfortunate fans that have those seats won't be thrilled at all.

The best seat is on your couch in front of a 80 Inch or bigger tv.

I will say with Tulsa, unless they are playing OU or OSU, there is always room to move around

The Iowa one is the funniest to me because there appears to be zero pragmatic reason for the brick to just suddenly be stacked higher and block the view. Maybe it was the cheap way to accomplish necessary structural support, but if not why wouldn't they just keep it lower like the rest of it? lol.

There was maybe 50k in that stadium, he could have sat in 20k+ seats that were empty. People in California and Miami don’t care about football.

It seems that a large portion of these seats would require you to stand the entire time to get a fairly unobstructed view of the field. Not the worse.

There are places outside some stadiums that have better views than these seats.

Husky fan alert that's basically an area where mostly it's supposed to be the press box area. And as of right now not a lot of people sit up there in that area except the part where you want to see the water
