Bro, you dont even know...those Pizza Hut discs sounds so bizarre and strange now...but back in the day that shit was fire. We had a family friend that worked there, and she would swipe all the demo discs and give them to us when they got them. So many memories playing them

Oh, brother. We got demo discs with everything back when we were kids. Played Gran Turismo for the first time on a demo disc, and it was basically the game itself for me.

and a portion of those "demo" discs had full games on them.. Admittedly this was done by mistake by the people who made said discs but.. Can not exactly blame us for taking advantage of that XD

I had some GREAT times with those. There was one with an online demo for Burnout. I made a lot of friends just playing the same track over and over again for weeks.

A friend of mine ONLY played the pong mini-game instead of the actual game. Something that.. Looking back.. I find extremely funny. It was not like the base game was not fun in itself.. We just ended up really liking their version of Pong lol!

I remember being in K-Mart in 2001, looking at the shovelware pinball games that were left over. Truly the end of an era.

The pizza hut demo is what introduced me to metal gear solid.....

The funny thing about Pepsiman is that it wasn't actually a free promo game that Pepsi placed in 1 in 10 cases, it was a pushed as a full oriced AAA title.

The crazy part I had a ape escape, and I notice I could never play it, because I did not have the PlayStation one controller that no thumb sticks so I could not play it because no analog sticks I was so mad 😂

I never played a Pizza Hut demo disc but I definitely had the demos that they used to have in a magazines in stores, different types of demos fun days

I got one of those pizza hut discs back in the day. I remember it was a promo when you bought a stuffed crust pizza (think the stuffed crust had just come out). I don’t remember every game that was on it, but I remember ape escape, gran turismo 2, sled storm, final fantasy 8, a really bad snowboarding game and I think maybe tomb raider or one of the jet moto games?

Great video. As mentioned, Pepsi Man is a pretty fun but simple game. More like an arcade game. Back in the olden days I used to ride my bike to Best Buy to play the demo disc on the kiosk for hours. They had a PS1 in a kiosk with a demo disc and I played the shit out of it. When I finally got the console I only owned MK3 but had that demo disc and played it alot, anticipating everything coming out. It was mind blowing at the time since the previous gen was all 2D flat visuals. The demo disc I played had Tekken, ESPN Extreme Games, Toshinden and some others. I was blown away. I purchased MK3 before I even owned the console and would listen to the audio tracks on my mp3 player. Exciting times.

As someone that grew up back in the day, demo discs were the shit. I had SO many Jampack demo discs. We didn't have digital stores to download demos, or Internet to just find a review on KZread. We were relying on demo discs, magazine articles, word of mouth, and "does the box look cool?" Not to mention, they were an amazing way to get more stuff to play as a kid. As a kid, I couldn't just buy everything I wanted. And a lot of stores sold demo discs for next to nothing, or even gave them out free. You could also get them with magazines sometimes, or like this video showed, from places like Pizza Hut and stuff. I put so many hours into some games, entirly on the demos.

I was subscribed to "Playstation Underground" and I'd get demo discs in the mail. I remember getting a copy of a Medevil Demo that was rumored to have the entire game on it. You could access it if you scratched the CD in just the right spot. Never tried it though! 😅

We had the PH demo with Tony Hawk on it. Got it when visiting my older brother at college... we played it nonstop that night, and the next day purchased Pro Skater.

Still have my Pizza Hut demo disc, definitely the reason why medievil became one of my all time favorites. I was amazed by it when I was younger and just that demo made it so special. Spent a while on the other demos as well though!

I never got a game from Pizza Hut but I did get ‘Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey’ on DVD. I miss promotions like that.

When I got to the pepsiman part I was like, how dare you good sir, this is an amazing game. I am very happy to see that you agree.

I remember playing the Pizza Hut demo discs, I also remember getting the America online internet 30 day free trial discs too. Those were crazy times.

I got a few of them growing up we had a small pizza hut in my town and I would get personal pizzas and they came with a demo disc! I played those things so much because I couldn't really afford games and could only rent one game ever week. We also had a rule of you need to beat the last game we bought or you couldn't buy another. Really extended the play times of my game that's for sure.

Im 31 years old. My mom worked 2 jobs and never had time to cook but once in awhile she would order pizza and bring it home on the way from work. She would give me the demo disk and she would eat pizza and watch me play. The games on the demo that I looked like I had fun with usually ended up in my birthday or Christmas presents. These nights of Pizza Hut and Demo disks where some of the only nights I got to spend with my mom growing up. Life was different back then.

Played Pepsiman a few times, it's very addictive. In the UK a few of the games on the Pizza Hut demo were on the Demo One disc i got with my PS1, some were playable, others just videos. Christmas '98.

I had the Incredible Hulk game which was terrible. I never figured out the first level. I saw it at a retro game store a few years ago and figured I would give it another try. Even at 30 years old I can’t figure out what the hell you’re supposed to do. You go through the whole level, killing all the enemies and I can’t figure out what you’re supposed to do. And it has terrible music. And pausing the game stops and restarts the awful music.

Fun fact, the dev who made Bubsy 3D? They ended up redeeming themselves by making the awesome Syphon Filter Trilogy for PS1. Still Exist today as Bend Studios who made Days Gone for PS4. Danger Girl the PS1 game is a bad Syphon Filter knock off. But the comics the game was based on were good. Recommend reading them if ya can find them.

Pizza hut demos was were it was at. I spent countless hrs playing them. I was like 9 or 10 years old and my parents who were poor at the time took us to a family get together and they ordered pizza hut when these demos were out. We were too poor to get new games and these demos were more than satisfying. I remmeber one demo had like 15 games on it

I had a PS1. I remember the game selection was pretty bad and there were only a couple decent games.

Played Sled Storm and Gran Turismo 2 on a Pizza Hut demo disc.

My brother-in-law worked at pizza hut at the time. I was swimming in those discs lol there were only two different ones though. I dont think he knew that at the time lol. you also got to enter a sweepstakes for like 500k or something maybe that's why he took so many lol

I had that South Park game on N64. It was sh!t awful. I threw it away the same day I bought it. Literally threw it away. 😭
