Took my 7 year old son out today. He lost his favorite leopard in the lake and I lost a wraith I bought at my local shop this morning. I know the pain.

Bro I'm sorry. I lost mine yesterday, in crazy high grass, and woke up this morning at 8am with boots and jeans and found it after 30 min of searching though

I lost 2 discs at the same course yesterday and walked off after it took me 25 minutes to find a third almost loss. I almost nikko’d a few trees, my car, my buddy who wanted to be a smart ass.

Man, I recently lost my beloved 2010 EMac Buzzz SS in the worst way possible - my dumb ass forgot to pick it up and didn't notice it missing until the next day. That disc was absolute money for me, just perfectly beat in, actually dead straight flight thrown flat, and predictable, easy controlled turn with just a little extra power, just a perfect midrange workhorse and all I had to do was remember to pick it up. But I didn't and now there's a hole in my bag and one in my wittle, round, plastic heart. Also - if you go out and try to buy a replacement for your lost disc, it will never be like your lost disc. Same plastic, weight, color, stamp, etc...doesn't matter, it will never be the same as the one you lost. Similar perhaps, but never the same.

I only lose discs right after I dye them apparently. If I dye it and I don't lose it in the first round or two they stay until they are beat to death on trees. If I dye it and really like how it looks there is a good chance it will end up lost in some vine laden trees, a forest of picker bushes, or a swamp within the first handful of throws.

Bro.... Had an instinct in my bag since they dropped. Lost it last May... I've been throwing an identical twin into trees, the ground, and off every tee just to get it to that wear

Lost my Rive a couple of weeks ago... During a PDGA winter series 20 hole so had to finish that before searching... so it started raining... and was 4pm.. and it got dark at 5... So I was wet AND couldn't see... and it landed in blackberry (ever read "Br'er Rabbit"). so I couldn't go back after work because... it got dark at 5... and it rained the next Saturday... And I played Sunday 40k away and ran out of time getting back for more than an hour of slashing... So this Saturday... From lunch to 4:30... I got rid of a 5m square area of blackberry ... and cleared a 15m sq patchy area.. after finding my disc... exactly where I saw it land... not in the blackberry but on the edge of it... But that was the 1st place we looked, I went one side of a bush, my mate the other... and neither saw it at the base on it's edge... And its Bright pink! But I found 2 discs.. 1 named/numbered had been lost in the thicket got 1.5yr .. it was "his 10yo's favorite disc".. I guess it's now his 11yo's favorite! the 2nd was un-named/numbered... It's a little unique so I'll keep asking round etc. (Oh and the Rive is one I lost on a practice for my 1st tournament 200k away but someone did the same legwork looking for their disc and found mine.)

I like mandos of all types, it's part of disc golf and I think its never going away so we might as well go nuts and make disc golf better with it.

I was going to point out Birdogie's usual string of penalty strokes from leaving the ground before release of a throw... (eg 1:36, 2:29, 3:00, 4:40 etc... and that's just in one round..) BUT... Is there a actually a location where someone CAN jump in the air before releasing the disc... I believe THERE IS... I had a decent look (ok I didn't read every rule verbatim, but tried to find all significantly associated ones) Here's what I found... 802.07 Stance A: If the lie has been marked by a marker disc, then when the disc is released, the player must: WAIT... WHAT.... "IF the lie has been marked by a marker disc, then" yada yada yada... OK.... so what if no marker disc is in use... hmmm so what IS a marker disc... 802.05 D: [SIC] The marker disc, or marker, is the disc used to mark the lie according to 802.06 oooooK... 802.06 A: The position of a thrown disc on the in-bounds playing surface 802.06 B: A mini marker disc (a small disc, not used in play, that complies with PDGA Technical Standards... ARRRGGGHHH.... Actually I think another hole... The "PDGA Technical Standards" only seems to list 'PDGA Approved Disc Golf Discs' & 'PDGA Approved Disc Golf Targets'... Mini's are neither. Anyhooze... I was thinking ... Where are neither a disc OR a mini used in play... THE TEE.... and DROP ZONES... Relief ... I can't find a specific rule saying a relief must be marked (tho I'm sure something covers it... but with the OB 1m area and associated shadow relief of that semicircle creates.. there's a possible grey area where you could leap from with no marked position...) So.... As long a Birdogie is Jumping off the Tee or a drop zone or taking Relief.... Sweet. (I'm SURE there must be something somewhere that closes this hole... Pleas find it for me.) P.S... I also noted while researching this... 802.05 LIE: The lie is the place on the playing surface upon which the player takes a stance in order to throw. The playing surface is a surface, generally the ground, which is capable of supporting the player and from which a stance can reasonably be taken. A playing surface may exist above or below another playing surface. If it is unclear whether a surface is a playing surface, the decision is made by the Director or by an Official. ....SO I think I was right (during a game last year)... I had a disc land under a tree branch that made the shot near impossible (with the other bush around it) BUT the branch was near horozontal and I could stand on it above and in line with an A4 sheet behind the disc. It wasn't the SAME playing surface as the Lie... but as above. it was a surface I could take a stance on ABOVE another playing surface... This would also count if you throw under a table or into a portaloo (hey it could happen... hopefully landing on the floor...)
