The reason is, due to high migration alot of people have previous teams, and for a while the bucs were awful so there was no real reason to consider switching. this combined with the lightning becoming one of the best franchises in the NHL and the rays being solid every year made it even harder for the buccaneers to get fandom. However now there is alot more fans just due to the impact of the superbowl. its made a huge difference.

I'm a Tampa transplant as well and you are correct, there are a lot more fans of other teams who end up here. I think it's more of a hockey town. The Lightning franchise has done a much better job reaching out to the community. The owner, as well Steve Yzerman, the GM, insisted players create a public profile. It didn't hurt that Stevie built a cup winning roster. I thought the Rays were going to beat feet but they have committed to St. Pete, agreeing to build a new stadium in the same crappy location as the other one. They have a very good management team and have put together a fairly consistent winner on a shoestring budget, but they were 27th in attendance last season. But there is close to zero presence from the Bucs or the Rays in the public, or maybe I'm just missing it.

As a Browns fan here in Southern California (Ohio Native), Cincinnati covers Kentucky & Southern Indiana, so they do have a good base of fans along with rest of Southern Ohio & Columbus. It's been brutal for Bengals fans 25+ years due to Mike Brown being cheap on players until his daughter finally took over the team & implemented this theory of spending money & picking good draft picks will build a good fan base again. So far so good. Jacksonville has sucked until Trevor Lawrence came to the city. If they continue to build around him, in a few years they can be contenders. Las Vegas should've told Raider's ownership to change the name after they arrived, I don't understand why the cities want has-been teams from other cities & states; create a new team name & color's that is conducive to the area. There's probably underlying concerns with the locals of the team will leave & go back to Oakland since they did it to the L.A. fans in 1995; who wants sloppy seconds. Chargers need to go back to San Diego. PERIOD! they don't belong in L.A. They knew this in 1960 when they realized L.A. was an ONE team city. One reason they Moved to San Diego for the '61 season. When they were in San Diego, I did support them since they were part of Southern California especially Super Bowl XXIX. I hope they continue to suck as much as they can while in L.A. There was a great fan base while going to a couple of games when hosting the Browns. Best thing would be Dean Spanos to sell the team to a group of San Diego investors & bring the team back to the city. Spanos is an utter putz to make the citizens of San Diego to pay for a new stadium for HIS football team, voters said no and left, cheap ass. Arizona should've been on this list. Again, another has-been team from another city with a bird & colors which has nothing to do with Arizona. Arizona needs a team name with colors with their own identity. Too bad the NFL didn't have a policy starting with the 1971 season if a team owner moves a team to another city, a new name & colors would be created for the fans & keep the heritage in the city forever. Ideas for new names. Indianaoplis Mastodons? Quakers? Thunderbolts? Las Vegas Miners? Plata's? Atom's? Arizona Canyon's? Cobre's? Monsoon's?

When did mike browns daughter start running the bengals because if it was recently like the last 3-4 years then its one of the obvious reasons why the bengals are winning and spending more. She seems like she wants to win and make a contending team unlike her cheap father. If she is running it then now i know why the team has been better. All it took was a change in leadership. Which shows how bad mike brown has been as an owner and has kept the bengals down from their full potential.

Sadly, I kinda knew clicking on this video, I would find Cincinnati on this list. Players like Chad Johnson would buy up extra seats for a few seasons to make sure the blackouts would not happen. Many companies would do the same. I remember going to games as a kid with my Dad, thrilled to see a game, bought by his trucking company. Owners of nearby bought a lot of tickets. I would blame the city for being a baseball city, but it's not that. Mike Brown after his father passed away just barely squeak the franchise by. Always way, way under the salary cap, talent that we Cincy drafted were busts, and still to this day, the Bengals do not officially have a GM. Yes, Duke Toben is the closest thing possible, but he's not official. The previous Brown family opted out of prime time games and actually stated before the only game they actually care about winning was against the Browns organization because of the bad blood between them and his father. Then Browns became the Ravens, and Paul passed away, but the mentality didn't seem to change. I love the Bengals. I have been a fan of them for 40 years. They are still my team no matter what. I will also admit that I am broken because the faith I have in the team is low, even considering the recent changes made by Katie, Duke, and the others that have made some really good choices to be competitive and move away from mediocrity. It was amazing winning a playoff game in over 30 years and making it to a Superbowl. I absolutely hope that, as a fan, it will happen again. But I am an old fan and realize Mike is still in the mix. So I watch or listen and always hope for the best, but expect the worst.

For a team to succeed in a market like Vegas, you need to make it "their" team. It's why the Golden Knights have been such a massive success there. I go to Vegas for work a few times a year, and 90% of the sports gear I see from locals is Golden Knights gear, because they were a team designed for Vegas and them. Raiders still feel like a corporate transplant, and it'd be even worse for the A's.

I think the Raiders also had their lunch stolen in Vegas to a degree by the Golden Knights, who had that magical run all the way to finals in their expansion season, the sort of unprecedented success story that captures the public imagination and gets people really interested in the team. Then, they won it all, completing the heist (sure, the Knights were there first, but this is the US, an NHL team outdoing an NFL team in fan support/affection is rare). Additionally, as an expansion franchise, even transplant fans can sorta add them as a second team, or newly minted fans can adopt them as their personal favorites. Meanwhile, the Raiders in Vegas have been very whatever, with only a single playoff appearance (a loss) to their name.

Raiders have been selling out games when they were in Oakland, the Oakland fans were always there and it would be nothing but Raider jersey in the coliseum... Only reason they would get blacked out was because the league felt that they could put other teams on TV, but living in Southern California there's been more than a few times that the originally programmed game would be taken off air and replaced with a more competitive game and sho nuff wit would be a Raider game... I miss the days when they lived in Oakland cause the Vegas Raider fans wanted them but hardly show up... It's a damn shame... That's why i was upset when the league gave the chargers "priority" on their decision for leaving SD... The Raiders should've gotten it first since they've been trying to get a new stadium for Decades... Especially since there's more Raider fans in LA than charger fans lol... But it is what it is...

Kroenke is a better owner of the Rams, but Spanos is at the bottom of the pond when it comes to a team owner. I went to a lot of Charger games in the early 2000's. It boils down to: do you have an attractive product to sell, or is it inferior and unsatisfactory after the sale? Same criteria applies to football and all entertainment.

I don't have time to look it up, but I feel safe saying that Riverfront Stadium had fewer seats than Paul Brown Stadium (I will use both stadiums' original name). More seats = higher probability of a less-than-capacity crowd and a TV blackout. To be honest, whenever I hear "Cincinnati Bengals" the image that enters my mind is Riverfront Stadium. Ken Anderson tweeted (when it was still called Twitter) "I miss Riverfront Stadium". I recall the Bengals only losing one playoff game in Riverfront Stadium. It took forever to finally win a playoff game in Paul Brown Stadium, and it wasn't until the post-season was expanded to a ridiculous number of teams. Do you see a pattern here? The Bengals have not had an intimidating venue to play in. The Bengals sharing much-maligned Riverfront Stadium with the Reds made Cincinnati both a baseball and football city. Since moving into their own supposed upgrade in facilities neither franchise has had a product on the field that comes near their most dominant days. Neither has had much post-season success in that time either. Both franchises need their blue collar mentality back to go with their blue collar city. It's not that the city is a bad NFL city. The NFL has simply changed in a way that the Bengals franchise has not adjusted to. Are Bengals/Browns or Bengals/Steelers even rivalries anymore? Bring back the old Bengals or find a new identity that best suits today's sports landscape. A change in name and colors, and renovations to make the home stadium more intimidating might be what are needed. The city and its potential for supporting an NFL team are not the problem.

100% agree with this entire list. Cincy has dismal attendance numbers when the team was anything short of good, same goes for Tampa. Jacksonville has never had very strong support and the market stats there are very deceiving. The Raiders only do ok in Vegas because of tourists, disgustingly high ticket prices, and the national strength of the Raiders brand, but actual Vegas residents care way more about their damn NHL team than the NFL team. LA is an easy #1, nobody gives a crap about football there and the Chargers in particular probably will eventually move out of the city in the next decade. Their lack of fan support is embarrassing, especially since nobody wanted them there to begin with. Only city that honestly might be able to dethrone Cincy is Nashville. Have family there and they love the Preds, but I seldom see strong support for the Titans, who still don't quite feel like the city's team.

You got that right about L.A. Los Angeles is a baseball and basketball town. It always has been. The Rams left the first time because the city wouldn't build them a stadium and I saw a man-on-the-street sort of interview segment on it and nobody cared. Half the people they showed didn't even know they had left. Now, they may have been cherry picking a bit, but it's true. The NFL went back there because it was an embarrassment for the most successful league in North America to not have a franchise in the #2 market. Now, I'm not a tinfoil hat guy, but the NFL is entertainment first and foremost. I found it more than a bit conspicuous that Matt Stafford and Sean McVay just magically met up in some sleepy little vacation town right after Stafford asked the Lions to trade him. Then, all these sports talk types like Stephen A. Smith who used to trash Stafford had him throwing for 6, 000 yards and winning MVP etc. as part of the preseason hype. The memo from New York had clearly gone out. And low and behold, the Rams win it all that year, with more than a few friendly refs come playoff time. Like that bit of theater wasn't staged. Like I say, I'm not a conspiracy guy but the suits wanted them to win and when the suits want something they get what they want. Now? Now we return to our regular programing. As for the Chargers they should have stayed where they were at. They started out as an AFL team in L.A. and it only took the original owner, Barron Hilton, one season to figure out his dog wasn't going to hunt in that market. They are getting what they deserve IMO. As for the Jags, three teams is just too many for Florida, especially when you throw the Atlanta Falcons into the mix. The market is just saturated. There was talk about them being the team to relocate to London but I think that idea is dying the slow death it deserves. A lot players have flat out said they will never play full-time in London. You think Californians get taxed bad? Anyway, I agree with your list. Well done.

As for the Rays that's not a fanbase issue that's the fact that the stadium is in the worst possible spot.

My 3 worst NFL Cities; St. Louis, because they didn't support the cardinals nor rams. Green Bay, because it's obscure and as a bears fan, just move the Packers to Milwaukee Jacksonville, because there are no other sports teams there, just move the Jaguars to Orlando. You better not single-handily try to move the Raiders out of Las Vegas, because of what you said on 3:15

The Packers will never move. That’s def just your Windy City bias but I do agree with the sentiment, being born in Chi myself. St. Louis is weird because it seems they love the Cardinals and Blues even if they suck granted that’s not a fact just my experience watching their games. Jacksonville I agree. That or move the Magic to Jacksonville or Tampa and move the Jaguars somewhere else (not London tho)

St Louis supported the Cardinals and Rams as well as any NFL city when those teams were successful. Then the teams started sucking and both teams had the misfortune of having shitty owners who didn't care to ever improve.

Green Bay? Are you crazy lol? The fans flock to that stadium every week. Who cares if it's small, it works for them.

@@ChildOfThe1970s if it weren't for the Packers incredible fan support in Green Bay they would have moved to Milwaukee decades ago
