i know im late but now i get where they were going with lego batman 3, lego marvel was the most successful of them all with no levels that I think are bad, in that game the world (and another world) is going to get eaten so every hero and supervillain on Earth come to stop Loki and Galactus, one of their other most profitable franchises that would make sense to get into a plot like this is none other than the Lego Batman series, but then they remember, Braniac was teased in the last game, so now it's not eating Earth, it's collecting Earth, also in the lego batman timeline it's darkseid telling braniac to do this, which makes brainiac more of a guy that'll do anything for a payment instead of evil guy yes yes yes like he actually is

The thing that ticks me off the most about this game is the speedsters, not because they aren't fast, but because each world has different gravities they are affected too! The fact that neither Barry Nor Eobard can outrun the Batmobile or literslly any other character it just really ticks me off!

I strongly agree. LEGO Batman three was sick. Even if it’s the worst of the LEGO Batman trilogy( which I disagree with ), it’s still an awesome game, and a great part of my childhood.

I personally love lego batman 3, it was my childhood game and it introduced me DC. I simply can't be mad because of nostalgia. i had so much fun with it. I think that adding characters mostly unrelated to the Batman was a good choice cause the universe and the stakes felt bigger (even if there wasn't a big open world and the story had it's issues) I don't find this game bad whatsoever but maybe that's just me. I also prefer it over Lego Batman 2

Honestly, I like the suit wheels in this. Don’t get me wrong, I do like how the other two games force you to earn the Batsuit, but I also like how it allows characters like Batman and Robin to become far more useful in a game where they could’ve very easily been over, shadowed by the far more powerful members of the justice league

The first level is why it should’ve been like lego batman 1 & 2

I think there are a lot of good aspects to Lego Batman 3. The character roster is in my opinion the best out of all the DC games with a great mix of obscure, popular, and fan favorite DC characters. My issue is a lot of the characters utilize their New 52 designs such as Superman, Wonder Woman, Nightwing, Batman, and Cyborg which are just inferior to the Post Crisis designs but I digress. I really respect what they wanted to do with the Lanterns and focusing on space but it just didn’t work for me. A lot of the lantern planets felt incredibly boring and after Lego Batman 2 they felt so small compared to Gotham. When I played Lego Batman 2 as a young lad I was so hyped when Batman and Superman went to Metroplis for the Lex Corp level and I was hoping the next Lego Batman game would let you explore both Gotham and Metropolis but sadly I would have to wait until DC Supervillains to do that (if you don’t count Lego Dimensions DC hub world which I don’t) Looking back at Lego Batman 3 I really think that should’ve been called Lego DC Superheroes and incorporate even more DC characters like the Doom Patrol and Justice Society. Instead of the Lantern planets have an open world Gotham and Metropolis with the Batcave, Fortress of Solitude, Hall of Justice, Watchtower, and Oa all be smaller hub areas.

Pretty much personally, along with those complaints, one of my bigger complaints of the game is how grindy getting 100% is, having to go to all the different lantern planets to get all the characters and golden bricks in different planets does get annoying overtime.

Not to mention that this was the 1st game to introduce those “custom character” missions in which you have to dress up a custom character in a very specific manner, that was super annoying and I’m so glad it didn’t become a mainstay side mission.

I had fun with the game but I definitely agree the open world easily drops it down a whole lot

I’m working on a 100% run of Lego Batman 3. The levels are kinda forgettable and the fact that you can’t explore gotham is a rip. I do prefer the suit system in this game though.

i got 100% on lego batman 2,3 and dc supervillains and although i liked that you could do small sections to complete instead of just all of it, lego batman 2s storyline was really good and i think dc supervillains was the most fun getting 100%

God the 3rd game probably has the worst open world of any modern lego game. I’m so glad dc supervillains gave us a really great open world to apologize for the crap that was in batman 3.

For what it’s worth, I really like the Batman bossfight from Stage to. Uses pretty much everything we’ve used as the player against us. That man takes advantage of an alternate suit that gives him a gimmick power. Batman takes advantage of the Batmobile. Batman even takes advantage of his bats warm attack (which is something you can actually use if you’re wearing the sonar suit.)

It's sad that they removed the thing where you could build your own suits!

When I heard you saying ``The LEGO batman games are some of the best videogames of all time`` it looked like you had mistaken it by the arkham series

i agree entirely, ESPECIALLY on the open world. i was so disappointed.

Lego Batman 3 should’ve been different. Gotham, Metropolis, Thymiscira, Coast city, and keystone city Should’ve been explored. Because it doesn’t look like a Lego Batman game, I think it should’ve been Lego justice league.

Me personally, I enjoyed playing this game. This games character roster is really good. Sure the mini hub and open worlds are nowhere near what Gotham city brought to the table, but they were all still fun and unique in their own ways. Yes I do agree that it’s plot could’ve been executed a whole lot better. But for what it is the overall story was pretty solid. The problem is that the whole game was way too Justice League focused, vs it strictly being Batman focused, considering that it is a Batman game. While this one may be the worst of the 3 Lego Batman games. It just goes to show that despite it’s obvious flaws, Lego Batman 3 does deserve to be praised for the parts they did do better from the previous game

The 1st Batman will probably be always my favorite Lego game and Batman II being a close second. The only thing I remember from the third game is Cyborg's "stealth suit" transforming him into a washing machine. That was freaking hilarious! 😂 I felt like Batman 3 is the game where Lego games started to lose it for me. Despite it having more features, the levels felt mind-numbingly simple. Yeah, Lego games are simple. They're made for children. But, there's a limit. If anybody complains about Lego games not having very challenging puzzles, they're a goober. I started going back to Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga recently and wondered: huh, "why did I stop playing?" And OMG you can't even do simple platforming without it handholding you. And the handholding messed me up more than if it didn't exist.

In my opinion, I think Batman three was mid at best. I’m starting my second play through on it to replay it and see how bad it actually was and I agree with a lot of the stuff he’s mentioning if they added like Gotham city, and Metropolis, that you could explore and made the levels a little better and kept the suit changer then it might’ve been better than Batman too and also remove the part where brainiac gets caged in Gotham city and keep him running around instead of playing three boring levels where you try to chase down and capture Brainiac overall it’s a great game still not better than Batman two though Batman is the best Lego Batman game one thing I really like about Batman three is the massive character roster. Also the part of the story where Joker says, wouldn’t it be cool to carry earth around in your pocket and then he starts singing a pants song Lego Batman two had a lot more variety you could explore Gotham city that was voice acting Lego Batman two introduced voice acting open world to the LEGO franchise so overall Batman two is better than Batman three if they did things slightly different in Lego Batman three maybe it would be better

I would rank this as the worst Lego DC game. I would have Lego DC Super Villains as the best, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes behind it and the first Lego Batman Game ahead of Lego Batman 3.

im currently trying to complete lego batman 3. when i started i thought it would be a great game even rivaling the second one. but i slowly realized throughout the levels that there was no open world. which for me was a giant letdown the best part about the second one was the spectacular map but now that there are barely any open worlds in the third one dissapoints me

I feel like the thing that really brings the game down is that it was less of a Batman game and more of a Justice League game. I feel like it would've been better if it was marketed as "LEGO DC Super-Heroes" that way it would segue into "LEGO DC Super-Villains" easier

That’s how I feel. I didn’t mind it in Lego Batman 2 because it was the second game, and the justice league didn’t really appear until the end and Superman just appeared regularly. Batman and Robin still felt like the stars of that game. It also had a solid story, funny interactions and a great open world Lego Batman 3 dropped the ball in every occasion

I for one...have no strong feelings on this one yet

The first few levels were amazing! But once you start exploring the lantern planets, thats when it gets stale in my opinion! Plus the open world is basically non existent, only having one small but fully explorable planet. While the rest are just carbon copies of each other, that just loop around. Other than that it's an ok game the character roster is great, and I really like the improved suit mechanic! 6/10

I have mixed feeling about Lego Batman 3 On one hand, The suits are fire, The 1989 Batmoblie and tumbler were straight gas, the character roaster was amazing (mostly because of the Season pass), and the season pass gave you some cool shit But on the other hand, Mid plot, You can't go to Gotham, You are restricted to one place to drive, and, as you said, it should've been called Lego justice league, not Lego Batman I rate it a 7.8/10 Dark Knight trilogy saves it and carries it

I personally love all the LEGO Batman games, but I do agree that 3 is the weakest.

lego games aren’t really “made for kids” but more made for anyone. Yeah it appeals more to kids but anyone can enjoy it. A game made for kids is like a paw patrol game

I have nostalgia for all three games since I was a kid, but LB2 just is so goaated. Lego batman 2 and lego marvel one are the best lego games IMO

Adding the Justice league again and the story as a whole made the game not interesting to me I didn’t mind Lego Batman 2 because it was the first game and I liked the story and interactions with the characters. Lego Batman 3 was just too much with it. I hope 4 goes back to the roots of the first game more

personally lego batman levels get old, i've play the first level countless trimes and i wish i didnt cause the replayability isnt even there, especially for a lego game where you have to replay a game to get 100% (yes i know it's freeplay so it adds a new idea of levels but you still have to progress through a level to get the extra needed items)

Great video-game essay video, keep it up! I have some opinions myself. Of course, after the Lego batman 2 masterpiece, any Lego game would feel cheap, except for Lego marvel superheroes which is the goat, but I mean, Lego batman 3 is a good game, but not at same level of the predecessor. Actually, I think I have 100% it or very close to it, I liked it, the roster was alright and the models were such an upgrade. But yeah, it is the weakest of the trioligy of Lego batman games.

The Lego batman 3 batcave should've been a mix of the previous 2 batcaves. Those elevator whirls are iconic. As for the suit wheel, I like it did free play, but definitely within the story it needed the actual changer. Maybe that could be been the difference for Luther and cyborg, were they do it at will and batman needs to build something first. But overall I think batman 3 was the worst simply because it's in the era of TT games making complex games in the style of Lego, when their games used to be simple Lego games. Batman 1 will always have the best atmosphere in my mind, because it didn't take itself seriously. Each new game treats itself with more respect, and hurts itself for it.

I agreed 👍 Dan lego batman 3 is the worst lego batman video game 🎮 I have ever played as a teenager lego batman 2 is the best lego game I have ever played in my life. The free roam was lackluster in lego batman 3. And the dlc are incredible and lego batman 1964 are incredible too. Like dark knight trilogy and man of steel and even lego batman 75th anniversary and don’t forget the squad and even bizzarro are the worst dlc level I have ever play. And some of the missions are cool some of it are the worst I agreed 👍 with you Dan lego batman 3 beyond Gotham my expectation was very high but in reality it is very low and lego batman 2 dc superheroes 🦸‍♂ is the best lego video game 🎮 too. And lego batman video game 🎮 is also the best video game too.
