The WORST Dropped Passes That Changed NFL History Forever…

Спорт

In this video, we take a deep dive into the worst NFL dropped passes of all time and the significant repercussions of one dropped pass. In American Football, embarrassing drops happen all the time, but they become memorable when they happen in essential games and in some cases when it costs your team a super bowl. But if you enjoyed then subscribe to the channel if I've earned it and if you want to come back and watch more videos like this one.
These NFL dropped game-winners have changed the careers of players like Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tom Brady entirely for the worst. But even though there are a ton of NFL drop compilations, there are teams like the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys who always find themselves in compilations about things like that as well as the worst NFL drops 2021. NFL highlights about some of the worst NFL dropped game-winners are always tough to watch but I hope you enjoy this video.

The most influential dropped pass was in the 1987 NFC Championship game on the last play by the Minnesota Vikings. The running back came out of the backfield and dropped the pass on the goal line that would have sent the Vikings to the super bowl. Because of that drop the Vikings went out that offseason and traded for Herschel walker, and that trade spawned the Cowboys dynasty in the 90’s. No other drop has changed the nfl forever like this one.

If Nelson catches that pass from Wade Wilson and it's a TD and the Vikings successfully kick the extra points, it would have tied that NFC championship game and likely meant OT, it wouldn't have sent the Vikings to the Super Bowl

Honourable mention: Jaquiski Tartt in the NFC championship game. I know this one is very recent but maybe if he catches that then the 9ers go to the Superbowl either get a 6th Trophy or the Bengals win their first. Also Andrew Whitworth may retire not having won one and same might go for all the other Rams on that team.

As a 49er Fan, Jaquiski Tartt's drop in The NFC championship will haunt me for a while. Also even though it wasn't a drop I still would like to remind you about Jimmy G overthrowing Emmanuel Sanders in SB 54 down 4 with under 5 minutes left while Sanders would have absolutely gone into the endzone. Pain. Also don't forget about Cedrick Wilson's dropped pass on 4th down while we were up 6, that could have been a real game changer.

I kind of give Stevie Johnson credit for at least exercising consistent logic when he blamed God for making him drop that pass. Nobody bats an eye when players thank God for making game-winning plays, even though the unspoken implication is that if God actively had a hand in one team winning then He also directly caused the other team to lose. Stevie was ridiculed for his tweet but really what he said was no more logically absurd than the hundreds of athletes who give credit to God for their success on the field, as if God has any interest in the outcome of a sporting event and actually uses divine intervention to guide their outcomes.

Reminds me of a story I read some moons ago. A man is facing some severe trial and he also uses the "I worship you, I praise you, I speak of you, I pray to you and then this happens. Why?" And he hears a voice say, "sometimes this is the way I treat my friends." The man answers, "no wonder you don't have many friends."

I think people thank God for all that went into being in their position, not for helping them win the game. The health, the talent, the opportunity, the luck, all of that is kinda out of our control. And if you believe in God, then he had something to do with it or allowed it to happen. At the very least, gratitude to a higher power is humility which is a good quality to have.

It happened in the middle of the 2cd quarter so doesn't qualify here, but in the 2010 SB Pierre Garcon dropped a Peyton Manning pass, being wide open around the Saints 40. The Colts ended up punting. IMO it was a huge momentum shift; Saints scored and then recovered the OS KO to start the second half. The Colts seemed to struggle from the drop point forward.

All that Jackie Smith drop did was made the game after the field goal 21-17. The Steelers then got 2 straight touchdowns with a Lynn Swann acrobatic catch and Franco Harris run which made it 35-17. By the time the Cowboys scored the 2 touchdowns to make it 35-31 it was less then 20 seconds so it would have made it almost impossible to get the on side kick and score.

In 1963 tbe Giants lost the championship to rhe Bears when Del Shofner dropped a touchdown pass in the end zone. This turned out to be a fourteen- point swing as the Bears intercepted a screen pass on the next play and returned it to the seven yard line. They tied the score at 7-7 a few plays later . If Shofner had caught Y.A. Tittle's pass it would have put rhe Giants up14-0. Even with Tittle hurt and not being able ro set up to pass, the Giants would have most certainly won .The Giants kicked a field goal to take a 10-7 lead at the half. The Bears with their offense would not have overcome the defecit .

Do dropped punts count? Cuz Kyle Williams fumbled not one, but two punts, which gave the Giants their only late game red zone trips and sent them to the SB.

Leaving out the lee evans drop from the 2011 afc title game between the ravens and patrots. Definetly deserves to be on there, ravens win the game and go to the super bowl if he holds onto the ball.

You have to be kidding? Tell me you actually know players tank games for the bookies and Stevie Johnson's end zone drop in OT was a classic in-your-face example. Waiting.....

No Dez? Playoff implications (with the tax, the Bostick play happened the very next week) and forcing the refs to start undoing some of their Calvin Johnson rules in ensuing seasons? No?

1987 NFC Championship game Darren Nelson dropped the touchdown. Washington ends up winning if he would have caught it it would have been years before a Black Quarterback won the big game Vikings or Elway would have won the superbowl I mean I can't believe you didn't even mention this game. There is more but way to talk about The pats pack cowgirls and steelers 🙄

Super Bowl 44 (Colts/Saints), the surprise onside kick by the Saints to start the second half was fumbled around by Hank Basket on the Colts, if he secures it the Colts have the ball on the Saints side of the field and possibly changes the trajectory of the game, also, late in the first half, Garcon dropped a pass that hit him right on the money and killed the drive, I believe it led to the Saints scoring again before halftime.

Catchy title. Three fourths of the way through, though, and there are almost no dropped passes that changed history. Interceptions are not dropped passes. Neither are rushes on fake punts.
