I've had two different sets of friends have a kid killed over the past year after being hit by drunk drivers. Both kids were under 20. Drunk driving needs to require jail time. There are too many ways to get home these days that there is no reason to drive with any alcohol in your system.

She owes the first officer an apology. The couple and officer saved her life.

I agree but he did cuss at her and regardless of the situation, he wasn't being as professional as he should have been. This is his job. If he's going to be a cop, he should be able to control his emotions better. He even asked a drunk woman to get into her car and put it in neutral, even though he knew she was plastered, and proceeded to push a car that was clearly in park. My point is, he didn't have control of the situation the entire time. He was in over his head and it was quite clear. His emotions were all over, he didn't secure the drunk girl from the get go, just kept running back and forth like he didn't know what to do. That's because he didn't. Thankfully someone who had much better control came along.

I'm not sure it was coddling as much as just being really calm and trying to walk her through the process, which is his job. It's clear that the first officer's raised voice just made her totally unreasonable. At least the supervisor got her to try and fail and then refuse and finally get arrested. ETA: He actually talked to her like she was a very small child, which she is emotionally.

So weird.....why are they ALWAYS in the road when they get hit in the road? You'd think, statistically, at least SOME of them would be in the local pub having dinner, a beer and a darts tournament when a car hits them. There's some kind of conspiracy here, and we all know that 100% of conspiracies are conspiratorial in nature, and 50,000% are exaggerated!

Exactly my thought!

If my 23 year old daughter behaved like this (she wouldn’t) I’d have failed as a parent. Utter cringe, extremely ill mannered, but much more seriously, she could have killed innocent people both before and after she crashed. Wonder if she gets that now? Probably not.

It´s the result of the heliopter parenting. Ever since people had 1 or 2 children and being obsessed with your offspring. Now they wonder why kids don´t move out when they are 30. Men in their 20´s are called nerds or sissys when they are still depending on their parents in 20´s but for young women it seems like the new norm.

Not necessarily. Once your kid goes off to school you steadily lose influence to television, movies, and their teachers, peers, and friends. Now there is the internet to plant stupid ideas in their heads. As a parent, you have a hard time fighting those influences, especially if you work outside the home. That’s how they start drinking, doing drugs, becoming entitled, and convincing each other that they are special. You try to be a decent parent, but in many cases it is a losing battle. If they “get in with the wrong crowd” they can go off the rails pretty quickly. Street drugs are more powerful than ever. The courts can be too lenient. Don’t beat yourself up over their behaviour, especially if you did your best.

I’ve never been so irritated by someone as much as her!! The whining and entitlement is so annoying!! I think she should be more worried about her circumstances rather than her dry lips for her mugshot 🤨

How would that call go? Mommy! I crashed my car because I was drunk and this cop is telling me to get out of the freeway very rudely. My child would NEVER call me and say that crap. Of course, my child was raised to be respectful.

Makes me so mad how she plays victim!! Grow the hell up! My 23 year old daughter is a trauma nurse and just handled a mass shooting. If she acted this way I would have failed as a parent!
