Telluride and palisade and TRAVERSE and Ascent has TERRIBLE third row room, Palisade/Telluride Third row Legroom: 31.4 inches Traverse legroom: 33.5 inches, Atlas legroom: 33.7 inches, Acsent third row legroom: 31.6 inches We’re not even going to talk about suburban/expedition because they are Inefficent and SLow and Expensive, they get 18 MPG at best, and still have Mid legroom, Suburban legroom: 36.5 inches, Expedition: 36.1 inches Now here’s Minivans third row Legroom: Odyssey legroom: 38.1 inches, Pacifica: 36.5 inches, Sienna: 38.1 inches, Carnival: 35.6 inches. and not only they offer so much space they also get 30 MPG, Sienna gets 44 MPG while they are inexpensive to own.

Good points, but honestly if you want 3rd room for an adult your options are a mini-van, Ford Expedition, or Yukon XL.

Thanks for another great video. Yes, 3rd row is very important to our growing family of 7 just hitting the teenage years (but seem like they are the size of adults). I would be interested in your thoughts on what ARE good 3rd row vehicles.

Awesome Video are there any 3rd SUVs that are good?

Own a Sorento, rarely use the 3rd row but it's really useful on those occasions and we send young adults and kids to this row, they fit and agile to get in and out. It's very useful when you have 6 or 7 people going out and don't want to use 2 cars, just a short trip in 1 vehicle.

Looking for some help. We just had twins and have two other kids. What is the best mid size suv with access to the third row? Specially, when the middle row has two installed car seats. Thanks

Mitsubishi’s Outlander is a bargain. I’ve owned 3 since 2014 and put over 200k flawless miles on them. Super reliable, dependable and gets very good gas mileage (27 city/32 hwy). It might be more basic than the competition, but I don’t like a ton of buzzers and bells. Great basic warranty and they wheel and deal on them. So go ahead and pay $10-15k more for fancy; I’ll take Mitsubishi.

Angel Medina : yes I have a 2013 Lincoln Navigator which has the same chassis/seating arrangement as the Expedition and the 3 rd row seating space is best in class...

But out of all them cars the outlander is mechanically the most reliable and value for money with simple servicing.

Confirms what I suspected. Price doesn’t always get you the best vehicle. I have already decided to either buy a new Telluride or Palisade.

The car makers that don't even care about the 3rd row seats' padding, shape, or covering material shows they don't care. Sometimes when the front 2 rows have leather upholstery the 3rd seat is vinyl, flat (no contours) penalty box. Not all buyers intend for the 3rd row to be for kids only and manufacturers should reflect that.

There are vehicles with 3rd row not only for kids, if interested please go ahead and review them. I mean there a tons of vehicles, we get what better suits our needs, if we get a vehicle that does not do this the blame is on us, not the automaker.

would be interesting to see a video of the top models for third row seat comfort. We have a 2019 Chevy Tahoe but the 3rd seat is terrible. I hope the new Tahoe gets improve in this area.

I think the Tahoe and the regular Yukon need a sliding 2nd row like the new Expedition. And any way to lower the floor height around the 3rd row.

highlander should be there. kids maybe 10-11 yrs can get in the 3rd row for longer trips. mid size adults, maybe for very short trips and that also if they are not regarded too well.

I just rented a Sorento, was shocked at how cramped it was in the second row because of that useless third row. (And I won't even comment on that cheap plastic interior...)

@@kalimann2766 I just bought a 2019 Sorento LX for when my 5 grandkids come over. Me and my husband can take them all out in one car. Once they go home I let that 3rd row down. Plus the features it has was a bonus. Like you said, well done Kia.

I suspect most folks who get a 3rd row got it for eithier emergencies or small kids. Like maybe an occasional outing with kids and grandkids. At least that's my guess. I don't own a 3 row crossover and don't yet have grandkids.

We just bought a 2020 kia Sorento. If you have the 3.3L V6 290hp its no slouch and a pretty comfortable ride. The Sorento really doesnt belong on this list. I guess hes right though , the 3rd row is ment for kids.

Subaru ascent is good 3rd row for adults and wonderful to drive around for everyday use too because of the turbo charged new engine 2.4L

Personally, I could NOT care less about any 3 row SUV. One note of caution on this list, if you enjoy visiting your expensive SUV up on a lift at your nearest dealer, then you're gonna love ANY Land Rover/Range Rover model. Unfortunately, this automaker is always at the bottom of all vehicle reliability lists... Consumer Reports, J D Power, Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book, etc.

My daughter has a Sienna, so I ride in the back to be with my grandkids. Not very comfortable, but I love being with them. If it were MY car, I couldn't care less how an adult would feel back there!

Yeah, I thought it was the worst SUV only why is there mini Van's. I'm just saying cause it's not fair for all the SUVs.

I disagree with the Lexus GX and the Volvo XC90, There are more third row which are worse than those, l think is better you also compare your own review about the third row to consumer reports because l think is not always accurate and is misleading.

I think the Lexus RX-L is the worst 3rd row in general.

It seems odd to compare cars from very different segments and price points. Some are only ever intended for childs and/occasional use while other, much much larger, cars are designed more for this. It depends what your priorities are. Apples or oranges.

Those 3 honorable mentions shouldn’t even have been in the same video. I would consider those mini-vans.

Everyone wants the functionality of a minivan but don't want to be seen in one. As a family - my kids always want us to take the Sienna over our SUV. Vans are way more functional and easier to get in and out with the sliding door.

It's sad and hilarious when I see my neighbors squeeze their 5 kids and 2 car seats in a Santa fe instead of getting a Sedona. And my sister who drives an Atlas with 3 teenagers and a dog. So unnecessary, minivans are far roomier

GM had a van a few years ago with a stretched hood they tried to pass off as an SUV. As I understand it vans are lower to ground, have lower seats, and very short or non-existent hood. The effect is a more bus-like vehicle.

They are literally just short Minivans with increased ground clearance, they are just marketed as SUVs because Karens and Soccer mom thinks they are cool.

To any parents thinking about a 3 row SUV, I highly recommend getting an 8 seat Toyota Sienna instead (not the 7 seat variants). The Sienna is just better for family duty, and is great for roadtrips.

How about the price tag.. is that better too? I consider 3 row SUVs to be useful, people don't usually buy these for the 3 row everyday use, it's better to have it than not to have it, and this is why they exist.

@@imgabnun not sure I understand your question. There are of course SUVs that are less expensive and more expensive than a Sienna. If you are going to have 3 rows, then why not have the best 3rd row available? The third row in a minivan will generally more useable than one in a SUV. And if you don't need it for every day use, it be folded away like a SUV's third row.

@@azaz911c again, people usually don't buy the SUV based on the "best 3rd row available" if they do then they are doing it wrong, its on them and they shouldn't complaint. Question was a bout minivans being in general more expensive than many 3rd row SUVs and people would prefer the lower price tag with the 7 seating capacity; you can fit 7 at a lower price, that's when 3rd row SUVs are better any minivan.

@@imgabnun They get crummy gas mileage and much more expensive, Highlander MSRP: $35,855, Sienna Msrp: $35,285, Odyssey msrp: $33,040, Pilot Msrp: $38,080, Pilot is much more expensive and has Less space. Pilot MPG: Up to 20 city / 27 highway Odyssey MPG: 19 city / 28 highway Sienna MPG: Up to 36 city / 36 highway, Although magazines has got 44 MPG with sienna.

The Lexus RX should be on it

Yes ofcourse, 3rd row should definitely be suitable for an adult. Its ridiculous that even SUV like crv are made with 3rd row for Namesake and its rubbish. I'm surprised with discovery in that list though!

Third row is an option if you think is useful for you, and is very helpful in emergency use.

This doesn't make any sense at all. Comparing SUV'S to van can't be a good comparison.

Let me guess.. One more thing again.

Do I care about the 3rd row comfort? Not much. p.s. I can get three comfortably in my 3rd row highly modified Smart For Two. 😉

Sounds like the auto industry needs to go back to the drawing board on 3rd row passenger vehicles.

@@adriancooper78 yes, they do exist and you are referring to minivans or other vehicles that have a standard 3rd row for adults, not a simple SUV that gives you optional 2 additional seats. There are vehicles for every need, if this one does not fit your needs and you still buy it then the problem is not the vehicle but the buyer.

But, it would be nice to see an all wheel drive vehicle that can seat 8 adults comfortably OTHER THAN the cramped thrid row option SUV or a minivan. Something different that what I was referring to in the original comment.

Modern SUVs are Minivans with down syndrome anyway, I mean Look at them.

Why are there minivans in a SUV report out? Of course they have the best 3rd row. They are a box on wheels and are the most practical i.e. boring vehicle. Additionally I would take anything Consumer Reports says with a grain of salt especially there reliability figures. The data only comes from subscribers to the magazine and not from repair shops. Finally all of these SUVs are on the smaller side so the 3rd row is just there for emergency purposes or as a marketing ploy. If 3rd row seating is needed on a regular basis than you need a midsized or larger suv or minivan.

So a 120 Hp Underpowered crossover with a 4 Cylinder and has a weight of 5000 lbs with a High centre of gravity is more fun than a 280 Hp Lower centre of gravity Minivan that handles better on twisty roads and has Vtec V6?
