My quick check online says that there are 11,000,000 Mossberg 500s made so far and the gun is still in production.
My shooting buddy and I have a 72 and 74 model of these, they call us the Zulu hunters at our local clay ground. Yes they kick like a horse but are great fun. Like you say, does put a smile on your face. Have a recoil pad on mine. Both also shoot hammer guns and pump actions. We dare to be different!
Mossberg 500 still holds the record for most mass produced shotgun at more than 11 million copies and counting.

Remington 870 11 million, Mosberg 500 12 million.
It's a pretty direct copy of the Martini action which was a long standing British military rifle for many many years.
Cooey single shotguns were well over 14 million and only sold in Canada.

Still want a greener bad. love the look and action.
This was the gun I started shooting with and when my son took an interest in shooting ,I decided to get him one. After a long search I managed to find an immaculate MK 2 from a gunsmith. He then decided he did not want to shoot, but that was my excuse for buying it!!Still, like you say everyone should have one.
Ths gun had the empire at the Zulu war
My son bought one of these from L.G.Harrison in Harare when he was a student at Peterhouse.
I have 2 that where my grandfathers including a stepped rib trap model
Got one - great if you stick to 21 's - mine was heavily choked - opened up to 1/2 - its a keeper
Wiki suggests at least 11 models of shotgun that sold over 1 million units… 😬
Ummmm…. Have you heard of Remington or Mossberg? Don’t get me wrong, great video.
As a lover of all things shotgun, that’s neat. Never seen one like that.
Seen loads of 30" full chokes! I know a bloke with a full choked 32"GP
I own two Greener GPs and one EG. The GPs (12 bore) have full chokes. Great shotguns! Feel like I'm fighting with Michael caine at Rorkes drift. And yes they do kick
I have one. Made by Webley and Scott Birmingham. Case hardened and full choke.

And it’s a take down shotgun.
First 12bore I shot was one of these, not sure the make. As a 12 year old it was fun trying to get just the right flick on the lever so the cartridge flew out!
The Greener GP came in many different configurations, there is a trap model with 32" barrel and Greener screw on choke. Most GP's where sold to foreign police, some with a special cartridge(12/14g) that could only be fired in the GP. After Greener was sold to Webley & Scott in 1965, W&S kept making the GP up until the 1970's, very reliable gun. The gun test fired must be light field gun, GP's I have fired weighed 8lb, 2 3/4," 30" full choke and light recoil. In Oz a GP will sell for the same price or more than as a old s/s. Shooters like them.
I had one of these about 10 years ago. It fired every time the safety was taken off with nothing near the trigger. I sent it away to be destroyed. I slightly regret that now.
It has got to be really hard to shoot as meny different guns as you do and be accurate with your favorite shotgun
MY Dad got me one like this as my first gun new he paid £19 new
Why do you not research thing properly? This is not the most produces gun and there are far more variants than you stated.
Pardus SL is the worst
