It was a fabulous morning thanks for watching
Nice film of a fantastic event when Götheborg arrived and got the Tower Bridge to open at it´s maximum in order to enter and then turn around with the help of a tug. Thank you.
Whilst staying in the intercontinental at the 02 we could see canary wharf from our room, I took a picture of an amazing ship in the Dock. I've just seen your video and realised what it was!!! Such a stunning vessel
"this is not a flatpack ship" earned you a sub from me XD Went to see her in Canary Wharf yesterday and wow what a treat! Thank you for uploading this, I was sad I didn't get the chance to go watch her come through the bridge, so this has definitely helped make up for it!

Thanks so much for your support! I’m glad you went to see her and had a great time sadly my week is so full I won’t get the chance but it was a real treat filming her arrival on Monday.
Cool to see it from outside the ship as well 😯
Thanks, very interesting!
Nice...👍.
ok this is a really daft question, but how does it move? I get that it could float downstream with the current, but how did it move upstream? The tug only seemed to be keeping it in the centre, and not pushing it and the sails were not deployed.

Not a daft question at all. It actually has 2 onboard Diesel engines these are used to help it make destinations on time when the wind is not with them.

Im not a ship historian or specialist, so i hope that idlf im wrong sayin this i could have someone explain to me why I am😊 but you see the white bit above the water line... Shouldn't that white bit be below, as id image rhe ship would need more ballast, or weight to let it sink a little deeper in the water? Or is it because the thames is shallower that the open sea, the hull isn't as deep in the water!😊

That’s the plimsol line I believe, I’m guessing the vessel is basically cargo free and lighter, probably to clear the draft of the estuary, but I’m no maritime specialist. Thank you for watching
Why is this ship called the worlds largest wooden sailing ship? The SV Tenacious and the Hermione are 20 ft longer.

@@shabbesgoj I think it’s to do with the classification thanks for watching!

The size of a ship is not its length, but refers to volume of the hull or its tonnage. Besides the Tenacious has steel masts and is therefore kind of composite built.
Its indeed a beatifull ship. But it is not the largest wooden sailing ship. The USS Constitiution is in every aspect larger. She has a greater length, a greater beam and a greater draft. Constitions sail area and displacement is almost double in size of that of the Götheborg.

The Constitution is not approved for long term ocean sailing. It has no diesel engines or propellers to make way when the wind is unfavorable (an international requirement). The Gotheborg is fully capable of circumnavigating the globe. The Constitution is not.
