Oh my goodness, this is amazing! Thank you sir for uploading this. I'm Ethan, the one whose baby tape contained this song. For much of my life, I've wondered what song this was and I was always hoping it would turn up out of the blue. Unfortunately it didn't. So 3 years ago, I took it to the internet in hopes that someone can identify it. We speculated that it aired on February 20th, 1996. Who would've thought that it would be found on that exact day 28 years later? It feels like divine intervention to me. Thank you sir for making this amazing song and finally putting an end to my mystery once and for all.

Arguably one of the best lostwave songs to be ever found. It still hits hard even until this day

I'm glad that this song got identified in the end. You might not be proud of the lyrics, but this is easily one of my top 10 favorite lostwaves, and at this point I've listened to several hundred of them (both lost and found). The way it got identified was especially heartwarming. Nice to see a fellow artist recognizing another and giving them the recognition they deserved.

There is something very beautiful to me about these lostwave searches. Through the searches we are exposed to the storied palette of mankind’s creative history, and we discover and revere the works of so many brilliant minds, even if we may never know their names. A lot of lostwave songs I would have never listened to otherwise, but I’m always glad I did. Such a bittersweet feeling. The mystery has finally been solved and a great song has been discoverd from that search, which many of us are overjoyed about. At the same time however, there is no more mystery now that the song has been found and that somewhat dampens to excitement of actually finding the full song.

​@@koelael2660 it's not like that at all. the songs most of the times become way more famous than they were before and new people can know about cool bands and singers. for example, i was really invested on the dance for hours a day song and when it was found, i fucking loved it! i also listen to more royal treatment plant songs now and so are other people with other lost waves that have been found. don't be a pessimist, hannah montana once said "it ain't about what's waiting on the other side, it's the climb" and that's how i end this comment 👍

This song is literally my wake-up alarm everyday. My Mom enjoyed it the first couple times I played this in her car, but then we both remembered she hated country music. Still, underrated masterpiece.

I just found out about the entire Lostwave genre/community maybe three weeks ago, and learned of this song maybe a week ago. This song was found on the same day that a longer sample of Try To Smile Again was posted on KZread, and Try To Smile Again was eventually found as well, so MAN! The coincidence! Oh yeah, and Ethan, who posted the tape containing the short 3 second long sample of the song said that they recorded the song on February 20 1996 and it was solved exactly 28 years later.

That’s pretty crazy yeah…. It all has happened with so many coincidences! Almost makes me buy into the simulation theory of the universe, hahahaha!

Wow! So happy this mystery has finally been solved. I have been obsessed with this search and that short 3 second clip since December, trying to think outside the box on how I would solve the mystery, cross referencing bands and artist from the early 90's with an absurd amount of RPM magazines that I found online, trying to find that exact couch (I think it's a jacquard couch? not really sure ) even today I was staring at the pixels in that photo frame to see if I could make out what exactly it's an image of, It looks like a skeleton smoking to me, not sure how finding that exact photo or frame would have helped the search but it was more like putting puzzle pieces together and eventually having an "A ha! I figured it out" moment I was even discussing with my mother a while back where this was filmed, If it was an unfinished basement, 60's house/garage, farm, bohemian tent, my mind went places clearly lol. The stained glass window was the strangest part but I had seen 90's country music videos that featured that as a motif just having windows in front of the camera for some artistic reason so I guess it was common at the time Also I had read an article about NCN where they said they had collected some music videos up until October 1994 so I guess this was one of them, instead of being a new song at the time the famous 3 second clip played on the network (it wasn't new when it played) Anyways I'm glad the search can finally be put to rest and hopefully we can make more massive and successful lost media finds and discoveries this year, I had fun joining in on the search even if I did it mainly solo God bless you Asif and Ethan for this fun and wild ride it was a great way to start off the new year! this is probably one of the only "country" songs I really like lol, the 9/8 time signature is amazing and the chorus is so catchy!!

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for uploading this. I have been obsessed with the song ever since I heard the initial snippet. You guys are seriously underrated and I would love to hear more of the band. The whole day yesterday I was listening and trying to figure out what time signature that was in the chorus lol, if I seriously start making music I definitely want to include wacky music theory stuff like that. You make it sound so good, thank you for blessing us with such an amazing song!!
