Immediately, people started shitting on one version now that the original band was found. You can enjoy one version more than the other without putting the other version and the artist down. It's interesting to hear the differences in tones between the two versions. I'm glad we have both to enjoy.

I always thought that calling this richardvoz's work a 'cover' was too inadequate, I guess for the situation you are talking about, it is called a remix, even if I don't know if that took the factor of a reinterpretation I would imagine it could be (when the original was not available).

It'd only be a remix if it was created by remixing the original. As it is, it is a cover, as it's an artist recording their own version of a song from elsewhere. It doesn't have to be a perfect sound-alike for it to be a cover.

Ambas versiones podrían mezclarse perfectamente bien. Sería genial si se pudiera hacer una colaboración entre Bad Influence y Richard Vox.

Same with me he went out of his way to make a remaster of it which is still amazing he just seemed to not have full creative process in the old band/songs he was making so he didn’t want to associate with it anymore and this version is his song

La original tiene mas dinamismo. En producción por obvias razones esta es superior, pero como "canción" es mejor la original

I don't know what it is, maybe the naturally weird nature of the movie or the mystery around the song, probably a mix of those things, but there's something that just makes this feel totally dreamy. Like those dreams so vivid you end up mixing them up with reality. I'm not totally sure if I want the real full version to be found since there's a certain magic to it being so mysterious, but I'd really like to know the band and listen to more of their songs.

*EDIT: This theory was wrong, but I'm leaving this comment up anyway so that my failure can serve as a warning...(just kidding), but there's really no point in deleting it. Glad the real band was found!* My theory is that Richard is the original singer, but is unable to claim it as such due to copyright issues or contract restrictions. The reason his voice is different is because it's been over 20 years, and voices change--including accents; plus the old recording is very poor in quality to begin with, so its to be expected that we don't get a completely accurate representation of the singers voice; but from what we can hear, his voice just sounds so uncanny to the original singer that I find it hard to believe anything else. Whether I'm wrong or not, I think we all can agree that this version is very well done!

After it's all over, I still enjoy this version. It's downright impressive how an artist can interpret an entire song from a minute-long snippet. Interesting similarities/divergences from the full version of the original.

Sad this isn’t the actual song but this version will always be close to my heart, gives me some kinda of nostalgia with the edited Alice music video and reminds of other pieces I listened to online.. Ahora que la canción fue encontrada, ambas son hermosas a su manera y pueden coexistir, cada versión tiene lo suyo y pueden ser disfrutadas, como la misma canciln o como producciones diferentes. Realmente hay esfuerzo detrás de esta versión y se nota que fue hecha con dedicación, al igual que la original. Alguien debería hacer un mashup de ambas canciones, estoy segura de que sería algo disfrutable.
