I never mention it, but I do notice how there’s sort of an obscured and blurry rotation of rings during the early shots of the World Soul. They’re faint and hard to make out, but you can kinda see the glares and rays moving subtly like rings. Pretty cool details :D

You also missed it, that purple smoke around the World Soul is in the shape of the Dark Heart. She's looking at it through the DH. It then changes to the tendrils (looking quite like roots?) I'm just surprised at it and what it portents.

I think this HD version confirms that aren’t tattoos but rather scarification marks.

I find it interesting that the spheres floating around Xal are so bright and shine light on her , I would've expected them to be shadow related , yet they behave more like moonlight.

If you look closely during the drust part you can see that the half elf half troll thingy is drawing the drust powers from the roots around her. I also find it curious how the heart of the Aspects is a literal golden dragon mount that came from the dragon soul.

I mean "The Final Battle" is what literally every NPC has been telling us. Everyone from Xal to Velen to N'Zoth to the Jailer. They all want things aligned a certain way for when the battle begins. The circle nearing completion - The final battle is the first battle. The light and shadow collide, obliterate everything, and put us back at the start of Chronicle again.

Final battle of what? You can have a final battle of something very small and up to a figh for absolute everything. And of course every battle of a cosmic force that if won would make it the winner, would be the final battle of that cosmic war and likely for all other cosmic forces and mortals. This said: the way as it is presents here clearly points to a more general final phase of that cosmic war, where it leads to indeed final consequences. Afterall: all the big cards of most cosmic forces have been played, what can't be repeated the same way.

The troll looking creature is the in between race of when the trolls were turning into night elves. You are seeing trolls in an pre ordered stat.

personally i think the herronir are either dirived from or are descendants the dark trolls that the night elves evolved from i wouldn't doubt that a sect of the dark trolls left the shores of the well of eternity at some point in their evolutionary path and found their way into the deep parts of the world to escape the effects of the well

Elune is Lolth, tying the spider like Nerubians to the Drow "Night" Elves. With the Trolls being an evolutionary link between the two.

I would also like to point out prior to them showing the new dwarves, in the upper right hand side, there is a red looking eye peering at Azeroth, as though it’s reflecting on or through the dark heart that Xal is looking through. If there is somone else watching xal and her movements, I think we could have sire danathris spying on what she is doing, or watching like him and his Nathrazim like todo. I feel that Denathris is waiting for everything to fall into place and swoop in and claim the prize himself (Azeroth). It is Denathris that set a lot of the cosmological forces in motion after all.

And Velen mentions the final battle in that legion prelaunch animated comic with old Anduin (Olduin?)

I mean, we have been shown time and time again that they edit their trailers with purpose to convey symbolism and messages. It's like Blizzards bread and butter, and not just with Warcraft, it's the same in Diablo and Overwatch. They could have chosen any Dragonflight bit of the trailer, and they purposefully chose that bit and edited bled the audio in while staying on the Worldsoul frame. This channel is entirely about overthinking themes, and the theory-crafting community has been vindicated quite a few times from these over speculative "making a mountain out of an ant hill" theories. Instead of sounding so dismissive, and like you have insider knowledge, and that *your* take is the end all be all, have a little fun and use that imagination. Otherwise, there are countless other channels that go much more surface level with the Warcraft lore, go watch them. Pyro has said countless times he dislikes this dismissive attitude about lore and that people with that attitude might be better suited to other Warcraft channels.

lets all go read "The Legend of Elun'Ahir" again... my gut is telling me those "mysterious guardians" are what we are seeing in the cinematic... (I edited this like 5 times, I hope Pyro sees this) for anyone who wants the direct information: • a certain world tree got ripped out by Amanthul: Elun'ahir. The tree was gifted by Elune to Eonar in hopes to combat the black empire. • The Titans, or more specifically Amanthul, weren't so fond of the tree at all, as in order's eyes, life is chaos. WoD shows a little peak at what unchecked life can do. • Even being ripped out, "the roots" still flourished with life and were protected by Freya. • Later, guardians arrived to protect "the roots". What we see in the video, and for those who have beta access, MIGHT be those primordial guardians Everyone go back and watch the cinematic of Tyrande v. Sylvanus. The same way Tyrande lights up in this blue like magic with her markings glowing, resembles this primordial troll like being in the cinematic. Elune is coming. There is definitely more to the dynamic of her, the primordial powers/races of Azeroth, and the Titan pantheon. im sure Eonar will be a connection when the Titans return

Elune is a "titan" created from a void being. I used quotes because titans are the light version of those beings. Evey titan is born when a being of light or void integrates with a world soul. The "awakening" part is related to the completion of this process. Elune was once what Xal'atath is trying to become right now, but got subdued by the light/titans and maybe even some envious void lord.Why did they do that?Becaue to keep the universe in balance you have to tolerate the opposite of everything you belive/stand for, including your own demise giving space for others to be born. This is why we hear in the trailer the phrase "so long denied me". She helped. She worked a lot to make others achieve what they wanted (in other worlds). All under the promise that the time for her to ascend as a void version of a titan was about to come and then...they trapped her. Inside a blade. Who?We don't really know.

Pyro in his stream said that there could be a world within a world type of situation with the ocean underground and all.. And if thats true who says that theres only one world soul? Maybe azeroth is split into two or more or maybe there could be another titan tier character that we haven't seen or heard of. Either way 10/10 video and finally after many expansions im super exited to see what they do next with the lore.

The dancing woman is a Night Elf ancestor missing link from the ancient Trolls. In the lore it says the trolls consumed and spent time near powerful fonts of magic that changed them over the millennia.

I think I just realized, like a dumbass, that the moon on Azeroth just orbits in such a way that the shadow spins around its height, not width like Earth's. That's why the crescent moon symbos are mornally "lying down", specifically all depictions in night elf culture. Or I might be wrong, but it sounds logical, never paid attention to see if the moon in the sky is consistent.

Wasn't there a moment (years ago) in some patch where they patched out the moon/Elune, unable to be seen in the Barrens, and people freaked out on the forums but it was shrugged off as a mistake/bug?

Elune is Eonar. I have been saying this for 8 years. While hiding from Sargeras Eonar operated under the epiphet "Elune" to not draw Sargeras' direct attention. Elune is just another name for Eonar. This is my thought.

Could be dragon Azeroth! They OG dev team were massive Everquest addicts which is where they took a lot of the gameplay inspiration from. The original God in Norrath to seed the world with life was Veeshan. A giant celestial dragon who clawed the surface of the planet and seeded it with Dragons. The most powerful Dragon of all was Kerafym, also known as the sleeper, who was so powerful the other Gods and Veeshan put him into a state of never ending sleep so he could never rise up against them. Of course he eventually did and obliterated everything Deathwing style which lead into Everquest 2's story and launch.

@@Wonderbread91 It's a possibility. I'd be wary of Blizzard actually doing a WoW2 though. EQ2 splintered the playerbase pretty severely, and EQ1 was and is still more popular then the second version of the game. Maybe a chance for them to do something major with the engine for WoW. Who knows?

I love WoW too since I have been playing it for so long, but it will never hold a candle to EQ. Also, I got absolutely destroyed by a beastlord on my necro while trying to show off for my friend who had just joined the game. I was talkin shit to the beastlord about how necro was the best pet class, etc. He said lets duel then and see. I accepted since I was so confident and that mother fucker beat my ass so fast I couldn't even react lol. My friend still brings that up till this day when we reflect on the old days.

It makes sense that the power you speak when the half troll/elf use as death magic and comes from the roots and you think its similar to amirdrassil...this tree came from a seed created by Elune AND the winter queen, a Tree who is cleartly LINKED to ardenweald so it's a kind of infinite death magic source comes from the shadowland through Amirdrassil...

Dude the dragon fetus part...imagine Azeroth "hatches" and she ends up being a little whelp, I could imagine people would be both amused and ABSOLUTELY pissed

i think Xal is just a shadow component of a personality that got split into two (or more) using some mourneblade :)

i figured the blue on the world soul was arcane energy, blue, from order.

It seems like her face is morphing as the orbs go around, at one point possibly looking undead.

It be interesting if Elune has two sisters. And that the queen of Ardenweld is her death sister. And the Xal is her void sister. Or that Elune is one of the "First ones" and that she trying to bring her family back in small forms. Also that Azeroth is that last younger "First One" and so ties in the different 7 language in the fist ones thing you brought up. So In all my theory is that Elune is that oldest First one. Azeroth is her last sibling that never woke up. That Elune is make her family again to represent that diferent magics.

Shadowlands was shown as the world that is built on top of "our" azeroth world. Maybe the forces only realized the need for a shadowrealm after the creation of life, so when life was created, then the shadowrealm was put on top of "our azeroth" as a veil, the same way our azeroth is a veil on top of the world we are going to in TWW

If Azeroth is Draconic, does that recontextualize why Deathwing triggered The Cataclysm? Maybe another attempt to wake her?

I think Xal is the Blue Child, perhaps corrupted during one of her journeys in search of adventures. You can clearly see the small moon passing in front of the large one in her eyes

Azeroth being a primordial gas stove confirmed. BTW, 15:18, the dwarf’s beard is made of copper wires - that’s prety cool, too. One more thing: What if the orbs floating around Xal are world souls?

Just guesses. She opened one eye... maybe that is not quite it, "she" had only 1 eye and it opened. The troll is working with the Botani not to kill the tree but to make it's link to the shadowlands "big enough" to be the conduit for something large coming back. Elune is not the godess of just the moon but of change she reflects the light into the darkness. However like the Naru she goes thought cycles. The big crystal in the sky is not the big crystal but if you compare it to the sword of Sarg in size it could be one of the tears of Elune a shard of Elune herself.

There's something about how she always looks directly at us and smirks that reminds me a lot of Denathrius. Heck, even for a moment during this instance I immediately thought of Denathrius. But all these Elune connections are wild and I love it. There's no way Elune doesn't get involved for Midnight.

its very clear now to me that Xal'atath is Bobby Kotick and he is coming for Azeroth(Microsoft) to gain her soul(paperwork + shares) back, he feels he has been tricked in the deal made with the Pantheon(us) and Sargeras(Asmongold) who was supposed to bring him the world soul but failed cuz he fell in love with the game but after he started being a reaction video streamer rather than the hardcore WOW player. Now the only question left is if Pyromancer is Elune in disguise trying to guide us to the correct lore ending????

The core of the big glowy ball thing is almost 100% Light. The only thing on the outside is the Arcane energy they are throwing in there. I'm still thinking that Xal is going to ride out the Light cycle or try to speed it up the void transition. Still don't know what she wants yet, though. The heart, obviously, but why? The big gem is going to change to Void, and when it does, I think this all kicks off. Is there another tree? Where the gem went? This is going to be so good. And I still have my Gift. I'm hoping something interesting comes up with that.

Have we talked about how every world soul that we’ve seen except Azeroth has some constellation pattern? Why is hers all fire and no stars?

I got a possible idea about why Xal'atath says that the world soul shall be hers. Go back to the Alleria and Turalyon story, in the blink-blink part of the story. I cannot remember who it was but there's a KZread creator always has said in the past that certain things are told by Blizzard have to be in a story. The blink-blink part had to be in this story. It foreshadows all the story of Alleria ever since. Including the fact that she knows the truth. Someone, perhaps Xal'atath, pounds at Alleria's mind to keep this truth hidden from her. The truth is this bit of the blink-blink narrative. In the story, the world soul tells Alleria she found a warm place where she settled down. That then someone came and caused her pain. That she screamed out into the cosmos for help... Yep, help came but not with any benevolent reasons or goal. It realized that they could claim the world soul IF they could pound away the machinations that kept it in slumber, that blocked any Void creatures from getting to it. The being found mortals on the planet that was around the world soul, and as the throwback eludes at, she manipulated the mortals into doing everything that would cause the titans (and others) to intervene. The being was quite apt at using all sorts of beings, including the Old Gods already there, for her goals. Every creature, mortal or otherwise, was something to use to get to the world soul. Elune was the so-called upstart goddess who discovered what was going on and was soon trying to warn the mortals of what was happening. Yep, the being that arrived when Azeroth called out for help to get free from the pain was none other than Xal'atath, who realized fast that the easiest way to conquer was from the shadows until she was powerful enough to reveal herself... Azeroth tried to warn the mortal through Alleria that they'd be in danger. That the help came but she, Azeroth, was at risk of going from one prison to another one filled with darkness... That the being who came was also laying a trap that would cause all the titans to be killed, and perhaps other cosmic beings as well. That she might as well be the last titan left to protect us from whoever the being would bring with her as her army...

I've kind of thought what if Xal "wins" in War Within and midnight is the void having accomplished its goal and we have to be the resistance and bring our world back from the darkness.

Xal was the 5th old god torn apart by the others she was the first to find Azeroth she was the one responsible for karesh

So at first i was on the azeroth is draconic boat, and seeing those dragon roar subtitles almost had me convinced until I realized they just played the dragonflight cinematic sounds early before the picture panned over. So its not Azeroth making a dragon roar its the dragonflight cinematic making those sounds.

this might sounds crazy but what if the world soul was just like a "sun" and when the darkness finally came it "cooled" the star and that's why we have crust or "prison" to trap and hold in the power radiating from azeroth.

Never thought of azeroth being a dragon, but oh man do I like that idea.

Elune always gave me the vibe of Selune from D&D. She is constant battle with her twin sister Shar, who is considered the dark side of the moon and darkness itself. Selune is light of the moon and is associated with life. Xal'atath has some similarities to Shar with the way she talks about Elune and how she's the harbinger wanting to usher in darkness and void. Shar was also banished kinda like Xal'atath (kind of). Could be reading too much into it. Im very curious where they will take Elune in the story!

Aren't the drust a form of life and death magic mixing? And Azeroth has been speculated countless times to be the balance between life and death. And if i'm not mistaken about my last 2 statements, doesn't that make the magic that Proto-troll is using Azeroth's primordial magic. Not arcane or fel, but Life AND Death magic.

I do believe that the drust magic using female is a Dark Troll/Elf. Some sort of hybrid, the remains of the original Dark Troll that did not accept Elune as the Night Elves did - which turned them into Night Elves to begin with. Half troll, half elf. And yes, it is very possible that Azeroth could be a dragon soul. The first living things on Azeroth was dragons, and there were no old gods that turned them into flesh. The curse of flesh didn't create the first flesh on Azeroth. There simply were dragons there before all that. Well, some thoughta you might enjoy from this comment! I am a lore speculator myself. We've seen Xal'atath in the StarCraft universe. Come oooooon Metzen the fate of WoW hangs in the balance. Daddy Metzen will take care of all of us and Pyromancer is his personal harbinger.

just a little heads up on the "race" of Elune.. as a goddess she can 100% take the form of what her followers/believers want her to look like. we have different depictions of the same saints/ divinities in various cultures that never met during the ancient times, but still have common traits because earliest religion gods where derivatives of natural phenomenons.

ok, my prediction is, Xal uses the world soul to destroy the pantheon and then Sargeras and Illidan escapes, Sargeras later empowering Illidan to defeat Azeroth becoming the last Titan. Illidan purges Xal and saves the worldsoul.

Something tells me that Xlatath is actually the mother of Azeroth. And the whole plot will be built on this

I don't think Elune got ordered, that's a bit of a reach. It's literally just the troll heritage quest thing. Elune might've been worshpped by Nerubians, Trolls under a different visage that they give her and she embodies.

If it is a sleeping dragon soul could it be the true source of the Emerald Dream? The orbs spinning round Xal look like mini world souls that are already under her control could she need Azeroth to complete the set? Random (probably silly) thoughts. Trying to catch up on all the lore I missed.

Xal could be far side of elune or essence of elune twisted by the void.
