Mudkip Southerncross To be fair, that was my first blind playthrough (or at least as blind as I could be and still use the internet), and I ended up stomping it in the rematch by paralyzing the Trumbeak it summoned so he couldn't get Castform, then just whittling it down with Fletchinder. Still though, that first time was like Satoshi Tajiri himself was punishing me for saying gen 6 was for babies.

Nestmind I found Lurantis quite easy since I had Salendit to surpress it. Mimikyu was much harder due to the fact he managed to take out my Lycanroc and my Decidueye. As for Kommo-o, I think am in a good place for him since am currently breeding and training up my own and my Vikavolt has Hidden Power Fairy.

I'm going to be honest as possible. Litten and Popplio have a some disadvantage during the first parts of the game while Rowlet has no problem at all. Rowlet does extremely good against the first two Kakunas. Popplio do ok against the first one and extremely good at the second one. Litten gets bodied by the second kahuna and does ok against the first. Not to mention the trials from the second island in which again Rowlet goes extremely well against the Totem Lurantis and the Whishiwashi and only struggles against Salazzle. The other two do extremely good against its counterparts and can really struggle to the other two. Now we pass to the third island in which we have the ghost type trial. Again, Rowlet (which at this time have already evolved into a Decidueye) can do well although you may be taking a lot of risks. Incneroar can handle that Trial extremely well (and probably the best that can handle this trial) and Primarina can do ok. Now the dark type Kahuna from that Island. Decidueye just fuck up here. Primarina excells here and Incineroar can do it ok. Against team skull memebers and bosses, I would say that Inceneraor because many of them have poison types that can give Primarina and Decidueye a hard time. Now for the last Kahuna both Decidueye and Primarina do really good. Especially Primarina that can rekt that Mudsdale more easily than Decidueye. And for the battle against the Totem Kommo-o I would say that the three starters wouldn't have any issue against it. Same for the battle against Lusamine. As long you have a good team that can cover your weaknesses, you would be fine. And for the Elite Primarina does really good. Decidueye too but still have some disadvantages Inceneroar too. Conclusions: Every starter can do well but it depends in which part you are. Rowlet is really good during the begining but has a hard time at mid game. While Incineroar at the middle of the game does good, it has some disadvantages at the early game. And finally primarina that can do well at the end and ending-early game (Im not taking post game in consideration because I'm not at that part yet neither the competitive scene). Also I need to say that I chose Rowlet and I didn't have too many problems. It's just a general point of view and I can be wrong. It's just an opinion

I didn't even know getting swept by a Smeargle was possible.

I chose Rowlet, named it Hoodini, and the first pokemon I encountered, no joke, was actually a Pichu which I'm pretty happy with.

Mu'izz Siddique In some runs if you had, say a pokemon on your PC and then blacked out you could continue wth that pokemon in the PC

That's how ProJared's first Nuzlocke ended too. Truly, this Smeargle is the destroyer of Nuzlocke runs.

patrick liang Smeargle learns only sketch. And he learns sketch at level 1, 11, 21, 31, 41, 51, 61, 71, 81, and 91. It was level 10 and learned 2 moves

Ilima's Smeargle actually cheats and knows four moves: Tackle, Leafage, Ember, and Bubble. Ilima is a hacker confirmed

UmbreonTwinkle Nuzlockes don’t start until you get pokeballs. You can faint before then all you want and it won’t be a death according to normal Nuzlocke rules.

He blacked out though. A common rule is that a blackout is your total defeat and thus the end of the run.

Smeargle and Lurantis are the hardest parts of the early game if you chose popplio.

Richard McDevitt not true. Popplio has the highest base stats, so it is a lot easier.

SM is legit challenging even without nuzlocking tbh

PolarAwakening Just don't underestimate this game. It is much more difficult than any other Pokemon game, and this is coming from a guy who obliterated a White 2 playthrough on "Hard Mode" with only 6, highly underlevelled Pokemon. But if you don't underestimate the trainers, you can manage fairly easily. And by don't underestimate them, I mean making sure your Pokemon aren't underlevelled. Doesn't help that almost every new Pokemon is pretty slow...

That's what I was thinking! The problem is that he's playing with "permadeath," but once you realize that there's no way to out speed the Smeargle and get more than one hit on him at full heath (w/o dying), you HAVE to give up someone. Either one dies early in battle (so someone can get 2 hits), or they all die in the end. 20/20 hindsight though...

Couldnt stop laughing the first time I saw Team Skull, I was dead for a few minutes
