The World's Most fearless Woodpecker (I'm only 2 feet away for 22 minutes????)

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

I took a walk through the woods and walked by this tree... I hear a woodpecker but didn't know where it was coming from. I turned around and was dumbfounded that I had simply walked by this guy.... Although the video starts from a distance that was how far I walked pass it... I decided to pull out my phone and see how close and how long I could capture this beautiful bird. In the end... I was the one who gave up after 22 minutes of being in half an arms reach to this incredible bird. You'll notice this bird is not worried about me in the slightest and at some point in the video it hears a plane and is more interested in that than me??? I'm not a bird fanatic but I hope those who watch this enjoy it and if you don't believe me that it's me really up close to the bird I skip to minute 13 to 16 and it will throw a small chunk of wood on my cell phone.
ENJOY! :)

… I think the human mind gravitates to what it does NOT know. Strange how I find myself watching a TRUCKER talk about trucking or how trash is RECYCLED for 30+ minutes and then at the end, I'm like, "why in the heck did I just wasth that!?" But, I think the human brain is fascinated with things that our eyes haven't seen, or things we don't know … so we find ourselves glued to things we'd never even consider otherwise.

New video or picture of high quality will be helpful to know weather that beautiful bird is Extinct or not. mainly known to be in south half of the US. Akeep your eyes open people.

I am awestruck that you got that close! We have a few on our property too! Sometimes they're banging away, other times they are munching from our bird feeder. We have the same breed of woodpecker and the color of its head is fantastic! I'm usually looking at ours thru binoculars! lol

Many think that this video is silly, but as someone who frequents the woods and is always watching for wildlife, I have to tell you how friggin" lucky you were! This footage is awesome! I've seen the holes many times, but NEVER see Pileated Woodpeckers making them! You NEVER get this close!!

Theirs beaks must be hard as hell to be able to chip it off like that. I couldn't even accomplish the same thing with a fork.

Industrious and hard working little critter. Kinda makes me want to grab a wood chisel and help him. I bet the first words out of his beak at the end of the day are, “Where’s the aspirin? I’ve got a splitting headache!”

Thanks for the video. I think that is a pileated woodpecker. I used to see a lot of flickers and Downey another woodpeckers but I never saw too many Pileated woodpeckers.
