I passed level 7 with 7 deaths. Took only 7 minutes. I have 7 reasons why I'm keeping it 7. 7 is my favorite number. 7 is a unique number

@Asha Tandon Ha, well, I did actually get a 8 second pb in Getting Over It lately, an old goal from a few months back, and I wasn't recording. No heart attacks, I can assure you :P

Don't know why everyone is complaining about how this isn't the hardest game, it doesn't exactly matter. They beat a pretty hard game and I'm impressed. I can't even get past the third level

This may be easy for some people but to some it's hard, I would say don't believe what people say about this being the hardest so some games may be called the "hardest" I just think it depends on what you're good at.

This is not fake, the dots have to hit the red part of the square to die, they can touch the outline of the square without dying.

Actually, if you play the game, you will notice how your death counter resets every time you go into level select and choose a level? All he needed to do was retry by going into stage select and choosing that level again until he beat it. I think this is bs for another reason too, the square had its outline in the wall which isnt possible in the real game... think about that

I did it with 14 deaths at 14 or 15 years old, i did it in class and lots of people were seeing, that was my biggest moment ever :D Im almost 24 now and still remember that shit. I spent so many hours playing this game...

The nickname is from a game called "Sacrifice", released in 2000, which was a very innovative mix of genres with stunning (at the time, but still pleasant to the eye) graphics. "Hachimen" was one of the opponents you faced during the campaign. Brilliant and underrated game that I'd recommend to anyone.

I played in Sacrifice and this is one of my favorite games ever. My favorite gods is Stratos and Charnel but i often play for James because he got "Sirocco" in his second mission

Stratos was great; good damage output, freezing the enemies and whatnot. Silverbacks with perma freeze were super good, too. I feel that James' units weren't as fun, and a bit slow to move around, so they balanced it out with Sirocco. Really good game overall; probably the least linear campaign that I can think of in a video game. There's still a small community of active multiplayer people on twitch if you're interested.

Just when you become comfortable, not having heard it for many years, 009 Sound System pokes its ravenous little head out of the sand just to remind you that it hasn't forgotten about you and how to crawl up under your epidermis and "boa constrictor" your every last nerve. Bravo for the nostalgic aggravation

1:55 I would probably just stay there

I beat the game in record time. For taking the longest to be exact. Here is my record: (I added up the time I played as a whole so this is NOT in a sequence) 8 hours, 42 minutes, 28 seconds. Deaths: 829.

The taunts in between are hilarious!! They remind me of the sense of humor used in Valve's Portal, with Glados always saying things like them to the player!

This is nothing compared to the original Ninja Gaiden on NES

I finish "World's Hardest Game" with at least a few hundred deaths every time I play it, but I have beaten "Ninja Gaiden" for the NES with no deaths without cheating.

Simpsons arcade game

8:37 if this were an 80s arcade game you would type ASS and be a legend.

I played this last night for like 4.5 hours and got to level 26. I could not beat that darn level. Watching you beat all of these levels with ease proved to me how much of a baller you are. I was also amazed to look back at these levels and think, "How the heck did I manage to get passed these." By watching this, I actually gained some self-respect too. 26/30 isn't beating the game, but I'm damn impressed with myself. Not everyone can be on your level. Wow, you're good.

I bet this guy's favorite game is Battletoads.

+George Papadopoulos No kidding, dude. This is just some game kids played in their spare time, whereas SC2 has the best multitaskers in the world competing for the grand prize. The dev named it that for shits. That said, it's a big shame SC2 isn't as big anymore as it used to be. One hell of a game.

+Hachimen SC2 not big ? it is South Korea's national sport degree, it is one of blizzards best selling games and is very popular but the skill level is just high as fuck and there for not many play it but the audience is very big for the game

Rigth now starcraft2 is less than 10 times as popular as it used to be, and less than 50 times as popular as some of the other eSports. Its not even top 10 most played game in South Korea. Counting all platforms, League grand finals get more than 40 million unique viewers. There is just no comparison.

I stared at this for over 8 minutes, and while I saw the patterns, there's no way I'm ever going to try to win

Love how on top of the frustrating levels the narrator continues making disparaging/pretentious comments before every level (the one before #28 was so evil, i almost choked from laughing so hard). Not a game I'd want to play, but sure is fun to watch!

I remember trying to snap my keyboard in half when I first tried playing this game. Ahh the good ol' days.

yes thats correct it is slightly better to minimize the amount of distance and reaction time for controls, however some people prefer one over the other, and its not impossible to do the same with either. its like winning a cs tournament with a crt vs 144hz led its still your skills that will make u win not the 1-2ms latency increase

I read through around 150 comments and no one mentions what I am about to. I'm curious, why is your mouse pointer moving around like that? Not calling fake, but if someone edited the video and forgot about the pointer it could look something like that.

Only takes one hand to play the game. Other hand on the mouse to click through the interim screens. Thats why it moves occasionally

If someone edited the video they wouldn't forget the pointer unless they were stupid

Level 8: Go down until an enemy blocks you from going down and go up and when the enemy leaves go down. When you get the coin run to the green back up. Right then reach out quick then go to bottom then touch green. Level 12: REACH OUT AND GO UP then go to the green the get the coin. Don't hit the blue. Follow the enemy down and get to green carefully. Level 16: Move when your opportunity comes. Level 20: Grab a coin or go to another safe spot quick but take your chance. Level 25: Back and fourth then around then back and fourth. Level 27: Bottom then top.

They should have a quote saying don't try this at home!

I love how during the entire video he's saying demotivational statements.

Dunno why this is called "world's hardest game", it's just memorizing patterns. Set aside a week or two and several hours a day, and you're good. That's not to say this isn't impressive that you had the dedication to do so, nice job.

Works better as an incentive to make you play it than "crappy flash game with barely any graphics in it #8812". Same goes for the commentary in-between levels in case you didn't already realize. :P

I've beaten this game before. I don't remember how many deaths though. Between 200 - 500 haha.

I was thinking about this game like 2-3 days ago for some reason, but I didn't remember its name. So I thought I'd never find it again. Its been years since I tried it (and I was never any good either lol). Then today I searched youtube for a completely unrelated Steam issue, and hey there it was! Oh and awesome playing!

That was extremely well played, I finished mine with like 50-100 deaths. I have no idea if you practice but you’re still super impressive

Thanks. And naturally practice was involved. You can get pretty good if you drop 1-2 hours into the game here and there, but what matters most is how structured your practice is. If you watch my speedrun of this (kzread.info/dash/bejne/dp5tpctqqJneXZM.html ), you'll notice the movement is hugely different.

I only completed it on my older(not-so-good) computer, the slower freamerate helped me understand the patterns and better avoid them.

True last boss on hardest difficulty 1cc without dying in Do-Don-Pachi Dai-Fukkatsu is the hardest followed by the same not getting hit once hardest dif true last boss in Mushihimesama Futari

Love it, I spent ages trying not to get to many deaths and ended up getting 38, this is just a little better than what i got lol

@Jamesolicous There's a score board up on the website, the top 25 people are all 0 deaths, and I didn't bother to check the other page.

Yeah. Hard is defined by (in my book) : 1. Massive consistency of 'enemies' (as you said, Touhou) 2. High number of collectibles, which you go through hell and back to get (180 emblems in SA2/B, 120 stars Mario 64... etc) 3. Coordination and skill-based levels (again, Touhou)

Wow, i beat it in 0 death as well in 2011, after a few weeks of training during school hours, but i didnt know this game was so famous, and at this time i would have never imagined that finishing it in 0 death had the potential to make 13M views on youtube :D Congrats tho !

I finally figured out how to get Cosmo to the last springboard in level 10 of part 2 with a full set of health bars and 6 bombs left. It only took me 26 years. Now I'm looking for more challenges.

Looks tough, no doubt. Little green dude said saving Mars is harder though.

@Hachimen (part 3) Out of curiosity I did a test to see how many times I could simply move my hand from being in position on the arrow keys to being able to click the left button mouse (a distance of 10 inches) in ten seconds. I did 14 sloppily. Doubled for the back and forth make 28 ten-inch trips, simply to be in place with no cursor pointing or clicking. Each trip is therefore 35/100 of a second. This is slightly more than the second tip screen and WAY more than the first.

Then after you finish the last level all of sudden the final boss from Dark Souls appears and you have to play as the red circle.

Looks pretty easy to me..... well that's because you made it look easy.

Reminds me of Touhou...I love how simple the graphics look in it along with the controls themselves. I doubt you need more than something that lets you move. (analog stick; mouse; arrow keys; a,w,s,d; arrow pad and 8,4,6,2)

I remember getting the last yellow ball on 30 and dying, then I quit the game. Good times when I was younger.

Actually, I played the World's Easiest Game (cause I'm a loser like that) and it's exactly this game, but without the blue dots. Something that I found out was that just barely getting close or grazing the edge of a green square progresses you to the next level, so he very well could have made it.

The black border around the box is unaffected by hits. The red zone is the only area that registers a hit (make sense?). Look up the term "hit box" in reference to shoot'em up games.

Used to play this game by mouse, that was difficult. The player would have used keyboard to play, it made the game a lot easier because of steady speed.

Everybody in my business class played this game, and atleast half of us beat it. It was pretty damn hard.

One word, Touhou, or for that case about 90% of bullet hell shooters make this game look like a piece of cake.
