Lizard with rotation is one of my faves to prime with! Will have to add extending the front leg like this from now on ... especially since I work a desk job all day. Thanks!

Same here, it is part of the p90x warmup for legs and back, minus the chest stretch ( it is leg and back day)

Would this be a good primer before your workout or better as a post primer? I ask because the hamstring stretch at the end seems to resemble more of a static stretch

  • @liammackenzie9813

You can make it more or less static simply by adding some movement (back and forth) if you want it to be less static or keep it still if you want it to be static

Dynamic and loose before. Static and tight thereafter.

I have to drop to my knee. I can’t believe he’s in the air while dropping his elbow. And it’s tough to lock out. (Overweight) really hurts the hamstring. But I thing it means it’s working

Doesn't this contradict the episode about stretching as warm up? The episode is about why warm ups are a bad idea.

This surely counts as a dynamic stretch

  • @Mariners4405

Static stretching, when you hold a stretch for 15-60 sec is best done AFTER a workout. This is more a dynamic stretch which can help awaken weak or unactivated muscles before you lift.
