I love the sound of 2strokes, it's just so raw and mechanical. Love your build!

Didn’t explain a single thing to do with the actual macanics of the engine. Plus zero psi of boost
@richr161
2 жыл бұрын
@@acurarl9929 Doesn't make much sense because the resonance of using a 2 stroke exhausts stuffs the exhaust charge back into the cylinder fixing the open port problem. When combined with a rotary valve, proper cylinder ports, a 2 stroke can stuff more charge than it can naturally draw in as a sort of forced induction. You can make incredible amounts of power in relation to engine cc.
How many horsepower you lost putting a turbo on it ?

In 1986 I owned a Puch Maxi, same engine. I had back then the same idea. I played around an electric driven water pump from a washing machine to pump more air through the carburettor...but gave up because it could not pump sufficient quantities of air. No KZread or internet to look up how things worked in those days. The only information I had was a car magazine showing an illustration of a Renault 5 turbo engine... Well done... you did it 👍🏻
please tell me youve got a rotary exhaust valve on there. otherwise you’ll build 0 charge pressure
@KrustyKlown
2 жыл бұрын
Why zero charge pressure?? .. when the piston is blocking all the transfer & exhaust ports, the turbo charger will add pressure to the crankcase, thus increasing the fuel/air charge in the crankcase.
@Richard-fe9qb
2 жыл бұрын
which is then blown out your exhaust port.
@danv8734
2 жыл бұрын
He’s right you might see a small amount of boost on the gauge but when the piston comes down opening the exhaust first then the transfers all that boost you have just captured in you crank case just pisses out the open exhaust your not gaining and extra compression/capacity as when the exhaust closes again you back to atmospheric pressure again, that top end power your getting is from the large expansion pipe Take the turbo off I bet you find it goes better Cool looking bike though

@@danv8734 yupp. scavenging and resonance gonna be totally fudged as well.
@devinddalrymple4426
2 жыл бұрын
@@roehle9962 no it wouldn’t be fudged scavenging is made by the cone on the exhaust that’s why it’s before the turbo then he uses what’s left of the pressure in the exhaust after the cone which isn’t a lot in a normal 2 stroke but since he has a separated crank case with it’s own oil he can basically tune it like a 4 stroke and that’s why it takes so long to build boost but when it does it really pulls

Amazing awesome
So this is a draw trough turbo with turbo mounted at the end of your exhaust pipe. I would like to do this on a larger engine.. I have a 700 and I want to try this and I'm looking into other projects for now for more knowledge. Your build is so clean.
Very cool !!! It'd be really easy to make a diy lightweight silencer for it & instead of the curved exhaust pipe causing slight restriction, could be a straight pipe with the slip-on silencer.
Cool build.
The sweet sweet sound of 2 stroke .
So funny💪 and interesting.
This is one bad Puch! Would love to see a video on the build if you ever decide to build another turbo’d again. I do suggest upgrading the brakes tho.
If you put a smaller sprocket on the rear it would run way better and go a lot faster. The bigger load will spool the turbo much faster and once you have enough gear will be able to hold it wide open for a longer time.

OK I was looking at the 60s honda 50s that were producing 16bhp at 22000 or similar...I thought ''how about a turbo?'' and found your video. Amazing . Sounds wonderful. Any idea of power and top rpm limits?
super sweet bike dude! please get a chain guard!
Hey does the turbo go before the expansion pipe or after?
Great build when you have the time pull the clutch out and tighten them screws to give her some slip off the bottom end that would help alot
hi i have a question how did you use turbo? I have a motorcycle of about 80 and I would like to do it there as well

It doesn't do anything to help on the bottom end however when you get up to the top end it is quite noticeable. Looking to add nitrous to help off the line and it should help spool the turbo up as well.

@@BuildCoolShAgain yeah that turbo is too big for 50CC. this guy from "2strokestuffing" (making the world most powerfull 2 stroke engine, is his motto ) is making a DIY 50CC high performance engine and he is using a roots blower / compressor. check that out.
Hmm interesting, did you adapt the port timing to the use of a turbo? If done correctly, I think you would no longer need an expansion exhaust. A shorter blowdown and longer intake timing is what I would try.

@@lifeofmike5126 no you dont. Its simply a way to repulse the exhaust gas like a valve on intake stroke, exhaust stroke overlap whilest maintaining flow. Very cool example of a boosted twostroke wich is entierly reed controlled is found on „2stroke stuffing‘s“ channel. Dude is making 20hp from 50ccm with mild tuning. Go check it out. @@HochstartHarry Yea, but he also puts an expansion chamber to enhance performance. So, yes, as long as you have piston exhaust valve, you need expansion chamber.
nice little puch you got there! and i know what you mean with projects, they will never get finished, completly. But hook that rear brake on also, dont even got a engine break on a motor like that in case of wire snap on front breake. And put a boost gauge on that turbo, doesnt sound like it boosts much, maybe shut the wg completly to help it spool up and hold boost? And the oiling system, maybe use a programable timer relay ebays special? have it go on and off once every 30s or so. Otherwise, how big is the hole into the oil inlet on the turbo? dont need much more then a toothpick sized for oiling usually on like car turbos. Me myself have a yamaha dt50mx from 87, twostroke aircooled. Did as much as i could on that engine in tuningparts, 70cc, better exhaust, 24mm "mikuni", high compression head. Changed all the bearings and gaskets, then the only bearing i didnt change completly shit the fan after re-assembly first drive, then i said to hell with it. Got a used yamaha 80cc mx watercooled engine, 22hp, fitted pretty good, some new motormounths, now it runs like crasy haha
Have you made the block fitting the polini?
I like this video though 👌 you need a sweet exhaust off the turbo so you don't have to worry about burning yourself ?

(Those little Hondas were producing over 350bhp/liter normally aspirated)
Cool!!
Buenas cual es el tubo que utilizaste?
how much hp is it pushing ?
Turn the play back speed to 1.5x to follow the conversation better
Lookes nice. But please tune the engine more. In this way you can remove the turbo and it will drive even more powerfull. But give it to someone with high knoledge to get the power out of that thing. Love it!
Cool, i had a Puch maxi, added a Proma expansion exhaust, skimmed over 1 mm of the cyl head with grinding paste adn a sheet of glass, added a Yamaha powerbox on the intake manifold ( witch was a standard feature on the Yamaha RD80 back in the days),i modded the spark plug and make a slice n it, the spark timing wasn't right and it sort of needed help to get of the line. but it made well over 10.000 rpm with standard carburetor and jet ... and over 75km/h. i even tried with sunflower oil in the tank and smelled like a restaurant. i bet you need at least a disc brake in the front.
that thing is sic.
thats what we want !!!
Have you over put it on a dyno? And if you have how much power did it make? Btw it looks awesome
I like the bike and I have found a 212cc engine that would work great with something like this it also has a 5 speed transmission. Add on to it it is both kick and electric start but I would need to find a suitable frame to mount it on I also think the engine is a 4 stroke engine. Do you know where I mite get a rolling frame simular to this, also what size tank are you using?
@BuildCoolShAgain

I'm assuming your looking at a piranha/zonshen 212 and not a predator 212. Something like that won't fit this bike unless you are willing to cut it and re weld new motor mounts or get a little creative. If you look at my other videos, I have a bike I call shitbike, it is essentially the same platform but I modified it to work with a motor very similar. Any bike utilizing a honda style motor that the 212 knock off is based on it "should" fit. I don't own anything with that engine so I can't say for sure. With this platform if you make a piece of steel with that mount pattern and the factory mounts you can make it work. Literally a piece of 1/4 inch steel, some spacers, and some longer bolts. Just don't tell the purists, they get really upset when people do these kind of things ;)
Where’d you get the turbo?
i have a 1970 black magnum that im about to start rebuilding. Im excited to get into it, can i just throw the turbo onto the carb and call it a day or do i need to feed it oil?

You could run a oil pressure sensor to a normally on relay🤔
Is it still running today ?
Have you topped it out
Put a little 20 dollar ball valve on the turbo oil line, acting as a oil pressure regulator. Also, if you want the boost to make more of a power difference, try building a rotary valve intake like 2STROKESTUFFING did. Currently, hes working on a supercharged 50cc 2 stoke engine, and it works.
Needs a regulator for the oil feed if it burns oil
Boost gauge?

I have a look around here and apparently almost no one knows how a 2 stroke works. the purge ports are always open at the same time as the exhaust port. that's why people also place expansion exhausts. everything boost you make is immediately blown into your exhaust. then you put so much money into a moped and then you don't have the basics right, too bad.
