@1:18 "you'll notice I'm breaking rocks a little bit faster than normal . Well that's because you bind the scroll wheel to one of your action keys, and each scroll counts as multiple inputs of that action, pretty fantastic from this game because I'm going to have to click 4 times but I only have to scroll once. And you do want to be running at least 30fps and scroll slowly not quickly because scrolling quickly actual makes it worse " Any true subnautica speed runner watcher knows this line

@@lolocordellThat doesn’t make it an Easter egg… you could maybe make that argument for the first game but absolutely not for this one. This one is very blatantly pushing through a story.

It’s insane how little farming is needed for the below zero speed run compared to the first game. Such a different play style with the speed run really cool stuff.

Hey Noah he ended up making the booster tank that's why he was losing oxygen so fast, using the booster tank uses more oxygen to go faster and he used that to get into certain places due to the booster tanks speed boost

Bit off topic (love Noah’s solo play throughs), but anybody else kind of wishing that Noah would play Alien Isolation. (Unless he already did and I’m just stupid). Just watched the new Alien movie’s trailers and kind of getting hyped for them!! Kind of hoping to see him enjoy the almost 10 year old game that is challenging, immersive, and fun. Hopefully I’m not alone by saying that the Alien Isolation game is just an amazing game. Would love to see Noah absolutely stressed out and enjoy the game. 😂 I would also love if he reacted to the speedrun after playing it!!❤❤

Subnautica has to be one of my favorite speedruns of all time.

I cant wait for the new game. i only found out about subnautica a year ago and played both games when they were on sale on steam. Loved them both

I’m 100% with you Noah, this game is very special and stands out amongst the survival game genre, it’s been in my top 5 of all time ever since I first beat it, and that was after following the entire developmental process

Noah, you 100% need to go through the original halo speedruns again. They are soo efficient and broken now

The outcrops aren't RNG, it randomly draws from a 'resource bucket', and once thats done, it resets the bucket. There is a bucket for each outcrop

The mineral crops aren't rng... Its a system implemented where if you get a titanium on the first one, then the second will be copper, then the crop refills so if you get a copper on the third one the fourth will be a titanium and so fourth

Outcrops aren't really RNG. They have a little RNG aspect to them, but you'll always know what you will get out of them because they're based on a bucket-system. This Reddit comment explains it the best: “I've learned from watching Speedrun explanations that Subnautica uses a bucket system for outcrops. Essentially there is x amount of titanium and y amount of what the outcrop provides.” - izodine

Breaking the resource nodes is only semi random fam. Takes from a pool of say 4 items and 2 are copper and 2 are titanium, if you break it and get 2 copper then its guaranteed to get 2 titanium the next 2 breaks.
