It feels like you are looking to find problems with the pope and this latest document. I read it and thought it was profound.

What? Infinite dignity is that a person has dignity whether we know it or not or accept it or not. If we are made in the image and likeness of God, how could our dignity not be infinite? I think Fr. Murray, with all due respect, is nitpicking just to be contrarian.

Fr Murray is just doing his job. But the facts don't require a fr Murray to convince the faithful, just common sense. We might have been created in the image of God, but if we don't live according to his laws, if our lives don't reflect Him, where's the dignity? If in fact we choose to grievously sin, where's the dignity? If in our actions we reject Christ, where's the dignity? We do not possess it without Him, and as for infinity, to say we possess dignity infinitely is an impertinence.

Miss Montagna's question to Cardinal Fernandez highlights the issue. If man has infinite dignity, how can that infinite dignity be reconciled with damnation? Can it be attributed to God that something dignified be banished to hell? The implication of the Cardinal's response is that maybe hell is empty since humans have infinite dignity (according to him) and that that which is dignified cannot thereby go to hell. It's a truly astonishing admission. At best, one can say man PARTICIPATES in God's Infinite Dignity through a life of sanctifying grace, which is initiated by Faith and Baptism, perfected in Confirmation, strengthened by the Eucharist, and restored through Penance (if lost by mortal sin).

The question really is … will the church ever go back to explaining the actual deposit of faith any time soon as opposed to issuing these controversy loaded documents? For the pope to say that he hopes "Hell is empty" is to call Jesus a liar -- *Jesus said that most people will not believe in him and will go to the Lake of Fire made for the fallen angels* -- Matthew 7:13-23, Matthew 25:41,46, etc -- *and we can see in Apocalypse **20:10**-14-15 that a lot of people are going to the eternal torment of the Lake of Fire*

Cardinal Fernandes is nothing more but a POLITICIAN and everything he does is but an act.

Want less confusion? Follow what Robert Royal said. Forget the words that come out of the vatican and look at francis' actions. The old saying is still true, actions speak louder than words. I think the words are a smoke screen.
