It is like a fish being surprised at water. It is written by Jesus Christ himself that the Church would have "wolves in sheep's clothing". It is easy to remember SCRIPTURE actually as it RESOUNDS with the LORDS WORDS..."Why do you not UNDERSTAND"? He said it before. Again and again. People he said, look up to the skies and say they can read them. Yet they do not know the Signs of the Times or the Sign of Jonah. Yet it is all written. Hardly a big surprise after a few decades of it being PLAIN OBVIOUS.

a possible explanation, Pope's recent illnesses have turned him into (in popular parlance) ''a grouch'' ? - I know, ideally, in most cases including my own, one shouldn't project personal problems on others - easy to say - and concerning Popes, we can look at S. John XXIII and S. John Paul II, went through lingering illnesses but never lost serenity or magnanimity.

If you are a Catholic you surely believe that God put the man he wanted to be pope and the guy is acting on his behalf. So why don't you agree with what the pope does as he is your God's tool? If you think that the pope is doing the wrong thing you basically mean to say that you know better what should be done than your God. So either you are wrong or you are not a good Catholic or the whole thing is just one big mumbo jambo in the first place.

@@theBeat2 Appropriate to say, ''some people sound more Catholic than the Pope'' :) As for current issue, we can always distinguish a Pope's actions from Papal Infallibility - the latter, when ''ex cathedra'' that is when he is formally pronouncing on faith and morals - outside of that, naturally a Pope, on a personal level, can make mistakes, and in history there have been numerous cases, and maybe some of P. Francis' recent controversial decisions are an example of this.

Does the Pope have any idea how awful his treatment of faithful prelates like Strickland and Burke appears ? Catholic laity around the world are watching this ( not just Americans, I’m Australian) and feel scandalised. There are bishops in Germany giving same sex ‘blessings’ and they are left undisturbed but poor Bishop Strickland and Cardinal Burke are ‘guilty’ of defending orthodoxy ( ie, feeding the sheep ) and they are punished. Heartbreaking to see this.

There are those of us on the lay level- Catholic school teachers- who have been mistreated and bullied by the Catholic school system, pushed out with no unemployment insurance in this system. We have cried out to our diocese and church leaders with no help or empathy. Maybe it is time they feel what it is like to have no support from the “church”. It’s not just about them. May God bring us to the life of the gospel and away from petty clericalism.

Laity a small procession with incense n holy water 💦, around premises of The Vatican 🇻🇦. It must be done everywhere that can see what The Pope is doing. To just make sure, some evil spirits aren’t in the church ⛪️. If possible in Latin Prayers 🙏. Pray 🙏 that if a group can’t, then some marvelous Priest with great graceful heart ❤️ love ❤️, with clear sincerity, with scripture responses. Not of his own. Meanwhile many of us shall fast and pray 🙏. Together, Our Good Shepherd in Heaven will come to Save us. Yet I believe, The Holy Spirit wants us to welcome 🙏 him, with prayer 🙏, fasting and light a candle 🕯️, or if you can? Incense. Let Our Lord take care of this, however he ought. For we pray 🙏 daily Our Lord’s Prayer 🙏. Focusing on Thy Will Be Done. God bless you, n other teachers. Please pray 🙏 together. Ask your local Priest. If he can do special mass with only The Teachers leading in participation of The Holy Mass. From Servers, lectures readings, choir of music, instruments, greeting host. Just teachers, serving during The Holy Mass. Let’s pray 🙏, and use Our biggest prayers, for our leaders of everyday teachings of Our wonderful children. Raymond, like always good job!!. I can not believe that I would see the church in this situation. This is a disgrace. In ten years this pope has damaged the church almost beyond repair. I hope the next pope makes a 180 degrees change.

Really a sad day for our Church. We have entered a new phase of persecution like the time of King Henry VIII with a moral crisis. Those bishops and cardinals who hold fast to the sacred tradition of the sanctity of life and the sacredness of marriage are being persecuted while others get away with the blessing the same-sex unions. Pray for the conversion of hearts.

I am listening to "Humility of Heart" by Father Cajetan, and it points out that a lack of humility can keep one from being saved, can corrupt one who is, and indeed can turn an angel of heaven into a demon from hell. That right there scares me, and I believe, is more dangerous and prevalent a threat to the Church, than anything erroring on the side of inclusion, no matter how wrong or misguided. It’s terrible what happened to Bishop Strickland and Cardinal Burke and also Father Frank Pavone. No real reason was given for any of them. In the case of Fr. Frank you guys didn’t even report it. He found out through the print arm of EWTN. Why was that unreported on your show? He was friends with Mother Angelica. He did so much for the pro-life movement with Priests for Life! Father Pavone deserves a fair shake as well. Otherwise I generally like your reporting.

Not if Burke took a vow of poverty when he became a Priest or Bishop as Jesuits do. Jesuits also take a vow of obedience to their Superiors who take a vow of obedience to the Pope. Only possible if the one being disciplined loves the Pope because Jesus loved Peter and asks His followers to obey the one command to love one another as Jesus loved a sinful Peter, the first Pope.

The gloves are off. You can sense it in the change of tone in Ed Pentin's reporting. Even a mild-mannered, very polite and respectful man like him finds it hard to suppress his anger about the things this evil man on the throne of Peter is doing. A lot will depend on whether there are enough courageous cardinals, bishops, priests and laity willing to openly resist and challenge Francis. The mockery of a synod that has just concluded has brought into the very heart of the Church the equivalent of Pachamama - i.e. all the demons bent on destroying the Church that had been kept at bay by the faithful majority in the Vatican. Francis has changed all this - he is firing loyal sons and princes of the Church and surrounding himself with highly dubious characters like Tucho Fernandez. Many of his most recent decisions are a slap in the face of every well-meaning conservative Catholic - and of course designed to stifle opposition and to prepare the ground for the "success" of next year's synod. I guess for Francis it is now or never. I pray for our Church daily - may the Holy Spirit guide us through these difficult times and give us Church leaders worth following.

Pope Francis is acting like a Pharisee or Sadduccee, not as a shepherd of the Church. It is so deeply painful to see that the Pope is the cause of division.

On a lighter note: After watching your interview with Archbishop Georg Ganswein, I feel compelled to comment, "Great threads, Raymond!"

Now that conservative Catholic media have established a precedent that popes do not need to be followed it will be very difficult for any succeeding Pope after Pope Francis to be able to oppose any Bishop with access to a Twitter account or a following on his podcast.

Whatever justifications Rome might put forward for evicting Cardinal Burke and stopping his pension, it looks like a petty, spiteful and vindictive attack by the Pope on one of his brother Bishops. The Pope will shortly be going to meet his Maker and will be judged by the love he has shown to his brother Bishops. Without love it is impossible to please God.

HE IS OUR GOOD ALMIGHTY GOD OF JUSTICE

I have had the strongest feeling that Heaven has been preparing a resolution for the current papal crisis. I believe the prayers are being heard. I sense that resolution will be forthcoming.
