Damuel is too poor to afford country-wide magic contracts without Rozemyne's backing. Even Rozemyne wasn't able to terminate her adoption contract from Sylvester as well without her becoming an official Aub too. With Rozemyne herself under a coma, Damuel couldn't afford to do anything because his status as a laynoble knight offers little to no options in order to make his dream come true.

Did they even bother mana matching for Ferdinand and Detlinde? I am hoping that they find out she’s can’t match Ferdinand before an actual marriage. It would give me so joy.

As great as it would be to see Detlinde humiliated like that, I can’t help but feel sorry for her. She seems to be more a product of her environment, much like Wilfried was when Rozemyne first met him. Her life up to this point feels like a rail line that’s been constructed by her mother, and it’s become quite clear in recent Volumes that Georgine has removed the brakes and led the tracks directly into the wall of a cliff. Every time Detlinde has appeared or been discussed in the past two Volumes (5-1 & 5-2), it’s like another crate of dynamite has been added to the outside of the cab. I am so looking forward to seeing her crash, but it won’t be pretty and it’ll probably get blamed on Rozemyne or Ferdinand somehow.

Yes! Definitely! Read the light novel first. The Bookworm world becomes so VERY much more. The anime only touches the beginning of a wonderful world building. And this anime adaptation has largely followed the light novel faithfully. So enjoyable.

11:35, 14:00 lol, I love how "Has never held hands" is basically the Bookworm equivalent of saying "Am a virgin." Sharing mana has a similar connotation as adult activity and holding hands is a rather direct way of doing exactly that. Also cool how, when we finally learn about that, it better explains why Myne's attempt at a romance novel was met by Ferdinand with such horrified & vulgar ridicule even though, from our perspective, it just seemed like the society's culture was excessively prissy and well-to-do, etc. But with the way magic works, physical contact of any kind is well & truly a prime opportunity for extremely salacious actions on a biological level, unbeknownst to us.

Someone on the Bookworm subreddit implied that the boys had mandatory sex training at the Royal Academy. If that idea was true it is even funnier is how Ferdie is such a prude. A more tragic story beat would be if he was forced to watch his mother making his brothers and sisters; that would make even me a prude.

I still rank "One Wilma, please" as one of my top five-chapter titles!

“Unprotected Handholding” is not a phrase I was expecting to hear unironically. I get the feeling that Miya Kazuki must have seen a ‘lewd handholding’ meme somewhere and found it so funny that she had to include it as a legitimate mechanic in her worldbuilding. It also probably explains why Ferdinand was so offended by Rozemyne’s manuscript since the mixing of mana is not something to be done frivolously, and the way she described the heroine’s emotions could probably be misinterpreted as the mixing of mana quite easily. I don’t think Ferdinand realized that Rozemyne still wasn’t familiar with how mana affects romantic relationships, and that the ‘birds and the bees’ of her past life isn’t compatible with this one. Hopefully that long letter where he described what “Please dye me with your colours” means went over that as well, as she’s only going to continue making embarrassing mistakes otherwise.

@@xxx_jim_the_reaper_xxx Their mana has definitely been mixed, since that is a requirement of using the mind-reading tool, but I very much doubt it went as far as dying her completely. If the mind-reading tool required that the reader completely dye the person being read I’m pretty sure there would be more notable and nasty side-effects. Though how much the person being read resists would probably factor in. ‘Dying’ someone with your colours suggests that the person being dyed is gaining elements they didn’t already have. Myne has always been omni-elemental, she didn’t gain any elements from Ferdinand using the mind-reading tool, so it’s not like their mana was that dissimilar to begin with.

Ferdinand has hugged her a few times, yes, and he has clearly come to care for her in his own way, but I’m confident that he wouldn’t choose to hug her if he knew of a better way to keep her emotionally stable. In fact, he did shirk that onto Lutz for a while before meeting commoners in a secret room was no longer possible. I’ve read every available English light novel at least twice, most of them three or four times, I fail to remember any instances of Ferdinand holding Rozemyne’s hand.

Perfect valentines video! The only thing missing is explaining the very complicated relationship of Damuel and his beloved Parues😂

I always thought that the drink Ferdinand gave Myne was to put her to sleep. Interesting to note that it has a different purpose.

It might also be worth pointing out that while it is rare, there is the possibility of women having multiple husbands, albeit only in case of archduchesses, and probably queens if there ever is one. Like their male coutnerparts they are allowed three husbands though with them the need is even bigger, sicne during pregnancy they can not supply the foundation with mana at all and are unlikely to be able to do much other ruling-ralted work either, so they need all the help they can get during that period.

I dont like the Rozemyne and Ferdinand couple because 1. Rosemyne has the body of a child 2. Ferdinand and Rosemyne have kind of a Teacher-Student Dynamic

I have never read isekai light novel with such well thought out marriage culture (mostly just say it's polygamy to allow MC to have harem). It helps with the complex world building and have impact on the story (marriage plays important part when they plan for the future for many character even for Rosemyne).

Ferdinand is considered to be in charge of Ahrensbach only as a temporary until Hildebrand and Letizia come of age and become the Abe. So compatibility is not important.

I just finished balling my eyes out to part 4 volume 9. Read up to the epilogue and just couldn't keep the waterworks in when I thought about Ferdinand leaving ;(

Love that you used web novel content without spoiling anyone! Good job💜. For those interested, I appreciate that polygamy is fair game for women as well ( just harder). Though I hate harems I like that the author had a practical and significant reason it needed to be in her story. Lazy writing is the worst...and like Magpie said, Kazuki shows the positive and negative effects of polygamy and monogamy. Her world build is superior in all aspects. Loved the conversation hearts too.

Webnovel spoiler alert*** Rosamyne is such an extreme case for mana sensing. Even when she develops it, the only people that can sense her and vice-versa are Eglantine and Ferdinand. Those 2, being the most powerful Mana wielders in the nation besides her. You get the feeling that if anybody else tried to sense her mana capacity and succeeded, that their heads would explode from sensory overload... Or they would be uncontrollably afraid of her. It is written later, that when she and Ferdinand are fully grown, each of their magic capacities equal that of a seasonal Faye beast.

I'm holding out hope for a continued anime! Awesome job with the content! I gotta hold out and wait though!

So I was watching a certain scene in Westworld where Ford the creator of the park he just had a somewhat creepy interaction with a Host and realized it was quoting Shakespear among others. I wonder how Ferdinand would react to actual Shakespear or since tends to go mad Scientist, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Really interesting and loved some of those inserts that weren't from the lightnovels. I love finding out more lore stuff. I didn't realize that potion Ferdie gave her was used for that but now i get why he was so surprised she said it was sweet. I think it's pretty crazy the guys are like "the woman can only wear my fae stone" but than someone like Kardstedt has 3 wives... .so is he wearing 3 engagement stones?!!! Crazy!

I really appreciate the efforts you went to to avoid spoilers. I'm still only part way through Part 4. For the parts where you showed stuff from later it was focused on the subject and/redacted. Thank you very much!

Slight clarification on Dunklfelger and ditter... Bride Stealing ditter is as you said a challenge to their rival to steal the girl away... And there is also Bride Taking in which the girl or guy in question desires to be wed but some other party is standing in their way ... such as their parents. This distinction is important as things change if the "treasure" in the ditter game wants to be taken or not.

I'm starting to wonder now when someone will wise up and start teaching Rosemyne of this world version of Birds n bee with mana mixing included. How about Wilfred too? Since he seem clueless about Rosemyne wearing Ferdie feystone, may be no one gave him proper sexual education yet. I know that having baby is important to people in this world, but are there any protection at all for unwanted pregnency? Anything similar to condom or pill (I have a funny lewd thought of turning your schtab into condom lol)? Or the noble mother just have to use her mana to abort the unwant baby herself?! I guess those with too little mana like commoner just have to give birth and leave baby at the orphanage, but does noble have more option to prevent unwanted pregnency? p.s. With this world culture the unwanted "Unprotected handholding" can be seen as serious sexual assault.

to nobles conception is hard, without assist of potions would need the couple astounding compatible mana that basically do not happen naturally. a couple would need be way more touchy that is culturally comfortable for many years to reach this point. That said some mishaps can happens as the potion that forces compatibility for a limited time also doubles as aphrodisiac and smoots over the entire process. We see time and time again who close to nothing matter the life of pre-baptism children, but personally i feel like paradoxically a confirmed conception won't be easily wasted considering who hard is reach this point as a imbalance on the mana density is enough to cause miscarriage in this early stage

@Edina rigl well here we go. Just be warned this is beyond the current english light novel release. Like, pretty far. Number one is the censored name from Tuulis perspective. A while back, Magpi did a video about all the relationships that end up happening, and Tuuli marries Lutz in the end. So the name is either Lutz's or their dads', considering they'd be the doing the wine thing. Number two is all the things that married couples do in noble society. Ferdinand and Myne drink the mana sync potion, which Myne finds sweet, so their mana matches pretty well. Then there's the gifting of feystones with the husband's mana. Rozemyne has the 5 rainbow feystones and feels more comfortable with his mana and doesn't reject it in any way. They get married in the end. Miya Kazuki has been giving clues to Rozemyne and Ferdinand since very early in the story. Think there was something else but I have to watch the video again. Oh, riding double on Ferdinands feybeast, and all the hugs. There's a couple more.

@@Damonnanashi some spoilers here. Isn't it the case that Myne's mana was attribute-less so when she drank the mana sync potion from Ferdinand, it totally dyed her mana in his colors. I think it was a similar case for Dirk when he was baptized, his mana was weird. Could it possibly be because Devouring kids were not born from mothers who provided them mana during pregnancy? so they become attribute-less and easy to dye by other nobles' mana. I do agree though that Rozemyne & Ferdie were meant to be right from the start as Myne tasted the potion as sweet and Ferdie was actually a bit shocked during that time way back early in the story. Just makes me bow once again to Kazuki-Sensei's brilliance with foreshadowing. That's why I keep rereading the entire story from start.

I wonder, if there will be a secret, on how to, unlock mana, in common people

I also wonder if Erenfest can have more mana rich users if Rosemyne allow to use identity laundering for the commoner devouring children (I'm sure she would not want to go the mana soldier rout as they are treated more like a slave) For example, let them learn Rosemyne mana compression method > use her orphanage director authority to get them under her wing and baptise them as noble in the future. But realisticly I think we'll see Rosemyne personal grey priest army who have more mana than many actual nobles instead lol.

At 7:27 you say that the couples go to the temple to be blessed by the high priest, but isn't it the high bishop who is holding the ceremony?

Wood worker. Fun fact, Lutz's dad (a carpenter/wood worker) and Gunther are cousins of sorts. Their fathers were also wood workers but Gunther decided to go to another profession.

I always felt sorry for the original Myne who lived and died miserably and only 1 person notices or cares. Hopefully she got a reincarnation on Earth or somewhere.

There is no " original Myne ", though. There is just Myne, our heroine isn't Urano, she's Myne who happens to have kept memories from the previous life of her soul ;).
