I really love to fly mine. Converted it from Old Nitro to a Power 90 E-flite Electric Motor. 10 foot roll out and off the Tarmac. AIR AMERICA. they use to call it the "JEEP".

Having built balsa wood kits since the mid 1960's , this is not how it was done then. There was more time and effort put into the kits, which required more time and skill. One never see's the kits from that time these days.

the only real reason they were done that way is the lack of computer design and the lack of laser cutting. There is nothing wrong with these new kits.

I feel the need to comment again. Looking at the design of this model and what engine it would require to fly it tells me everything I said before is correct. I stick to my original comment. Its a terrible design. I had an Extra 300 that was designed simular to this. The thing was JUNK! It didnt even survive a low altitude crash being two foot off the ground due to engine stall. The body blew apart like a hand grenade. The double sided walls did nothing for strength and there was not enough lateral support long the top or bottom of the fuselage. The wings were supposed to be designed to transfer strenght across front to back but the poor design resulted in complete failure at the cockpit.

If you tryed to build a real plane like that,it would fail. The structural design is weak, even in a hard landing, this plane would break up very easily. the design it terrible, the inner supports too thin. Thats the problem with these prefab planes, they skimp on proper building techniques and use less bulk heads trying to lighten the weight, but compromise the structural integrity. Do yourself a favor, get some old school plans, compair them to this prefab junk, you will shake your head at the shoddy workmanship put into these frames.

I disagree. I've been (scratch) building from plans and kits for about 30 years, and I built this kit 2 winters ago (you can see the maiden flight on my channel). It is a very well thought out and engineered kit with quality materials. Light weight yet very strong - you couldn't twist that fuse if you wanted to. It also holds up very well after 2 summers of many flights. Mine even comes with the added vibration of a 4 stroke..... Still looks like new.

I crashed my porter very hard due to an electronic malfunction, it was amazingly well built and was, to my surprise, repairable. So I don't think you can really make the assumptions\ you do on durability simply by watching a video when you lack any empirical evidence. My experience gives me quite the opposite opinion, and I have purchased more models from them with great satisfaction.
