He's too good. Olympian, good father, good man, cheesy, practiced, clean, good fighter, good. He's not a fuck up. Jon is a fuck up, people relate to that, it's impossible to love someone who is perfect, who doesn't make mistakes, who doesn't look or sound human. It's not relatable.

Nos14B but martial arts is a bad translation. it means war science. martial arts is a science, not self expression. you're a machine to kill, not express yourself. lethal and efficient not expressive. Lee knew this. he said one thing and did another

intro was incredible

mike swick' contribution to where the ufc is is impossible to measure. anyone who was watching when mike was at top form knows what im talking about. from about 2005 to 2009 he was in the top 5 for most exciting fighter every year. he was the only striker in those days with the laserbeam accuracy that we see much more of today. mike and chris lytle for that matter should seriously get a surprise 10 million dollar cheque in the mail for the services they provided that contributed to the ufc going mainstream. mike especially because of his appeal. the guy was a vicious beast that looked and talked like kind of a geek, and it added to his performances when he would savagely annihilate dudes. shit happens and he ran into some serious injuries or he could have possibly been champ. but in the end, he always put on amazing fights with spectacular finishes and i remember him as much as any one guy from those days.

I'm a guy but I find it both awesome and fucking adorable that the guys at aka teach little kids wrestling. Especially someone who's on the level as Daniel Cormier, he may have seemed tough on that kid but trust me if he's learning right now to start being tough it's going to benefit him way down the line in the future.

Pressures make diamonds. That kid faced the deep end of the pool and was able to overcome fear. He's that much stronger now. The Middle Eastern kids his age often seen carrying around RPGs must be in survival mode out of the crib, Spartan-style.

AKA has made a name for themselves while having and helping some of the greatest fighters like Daniel Cormier, Cain Velazquez, Luke Rockhold, Khabib Nurmagomedov, BJ Penn, Lyoto Machida and many more. One of the top training facilities though they have faced criticism from fans,journalists and even Dana white for having what s perceived as an excessively high rate of training injuries leading to cancellations of fights.

Хабиб which comes from arabic word Habib(beloved) for some reason it was transcribed to English as Khabib where it has hard Kh instead of smooth H sound. In one of the interviews Habib himself corrected journalist on pronunciation of his name as Habib. I could find u a link for that but I am too lazy to do that therefore take my word for it.

i ended up joining muay thai since it worked better with my schedule. it's a dutch muay thai/kickboxing style though so more emphasis on boxing attack/defense w/ alot of close range low kick punching combos. im loving it!

If i remember correctly, Javier Mendez was the striking coach Josh Koscheck used for TUF 12 and Daniel was the wrestling coach, all from AKA. 2 wins out of 8 fights. Not bad.

Its crazy the amount of people that MMA rotates through. This was only 4 years ago and i know very few of the names now.

When was this filmed? I know Swick is in thailand now, DC rocking the Strikeforce gear so pre UFC. And I'm pretty sure Gray left AKA. Could be wrong though.

This obviously an old video. Filmed circa mid 2013 I think. Was this re-released or is this a first? I've seen Cormier training those kids in a promo of some kind ( probably for the Jon Jones fight ), the rest of the video has not been seen by me. Was this the first time this video, as a whole, was released?
