I love, love the way you organize your episodes. I appreciate that you don’t cut corners. You put a picture of the original sample, pictures wearing it, details, notes, time stamps,…. It’s really a step up of so many other podcasters! Love it! ❤And your hair looks adorable btw.

I love your podcasts. Don't stress about the way you organize and present content. I like that you are very natural and friendly. If time is too long for me in one sitting, no problem. I can just pause and come back. Just be you. You are great.

thank you so much Patricia ! That's good to hear :)
There’s an expression used by callers who respond to radio broadcasts that fits me: “Long time listener; first time caller.” I’ve been a subscriber since your 1st episode, but I know keeping up with your many responses on all the platforms can be overwhelming and take away from your knitting time. (Ironic much? 😉) I appreciate all the many details you provide in all aspects. Knitters are often reluctant to comment on pattern errors and designer writing styles for fear of alienating some, but your honesty is really helpful. For what it’s worth, the way you express yourself is a great balance of useful truth in a non-offensive manner. I love the inside-out approach to the Fisherman’s Rib (half?) sweater. I can’t wait to see how you tackle the sleeves. You shouldn’t have a problem. You might have even stumbled on your first design. 🤔😉 I’m sure you’ve thought of this, but is there any reason why you can’t alternate skeins for your helical knitting when you’re close to the end of one skein instead of alternating throughout the entire sweater? For example, start alternating when you’ve used up maybe 2/3 or 3/4 of one skein. Maybe the blend is not as cohesive as using 2 full skeins throughout. Just wondering. And if you ever decide to film a tutorial of your helical process, I’d love to see it. All the videos seem to be about making stripes and avoiding jogs, and while I understand the concept, I can’t quite knit mine smoothly. Meanwhile … keep having fun and knit to please yourself. No rush. We’ll be here … for Autumn knits … and Winter knits. Cheers for now. Thanks for the help, info and inspiration. Terry (aka Tadpoletroll on Ravelry) 🥰

Thank you so much for this comment Terry, it really made my whole week !! So so nice to hear all that. And good point about alternating skeins, in my case I was worried the background colour of the whole skein lookes a shade darker in one of them, and was worried even if i faded, i'd get a gradient, which i didnt want ! I wanted a "solid" colour aha. I might record something on helical knitting as I learn more about it ! Have a wonderful weekend ♥
Oh my the fisherman’s rib sweater looks stunning ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Vanissia your hair looks lovely and it really suits you like that. You’re striped sweater looks great on you so I wouldn’t worry about how you could have changed colours around. Your Alder sweater is beautiful, it looks like it’ll be really warm, but it’s the Ozetta Seasons sweater that has stolen my heart. The colour is just gorgeous, I can’t wait to see it finished. @@thewoollyworker Paula strickt / Susanne Müller has some, if you want to have a look. I’m thinking about the Julie top - perfect timing now that summer’s almost over :D But the Never Ending Story / Coming soon / Clara also use this style I think.
I love the pop of yellow/green in the sweater, I think it makes the whole thing. And I like that stripe where it's at, I think it would be more "normal" to have the pop of color a stripe down, but it actually works really well to make it feel a bit more asymmetrical and interesting.
@thewoollyworker

thank you for that ! I think i end up really liking it in photos etc when i see the whole picture, as opposed to looking down on it on my body aha !
For colour choices: you can make a photo on your phone and do it in black and white. It will show you contrast really well. And gives you more insight into what you want colour wise.

Argh I also hate when I miss picking up a strand of mohair (or whatever). Totally get that you wouldn't want to ladder or frog back to fix that. I'm very interested to hear how you end up fixing it! My guess is that the suri and Gilliatt are both so grippy that it should be fine, for what it's worth, but I admit I've never tried that before! Oh great ! Such a good project, except it takes a while, but cheaper than handdyed DK for sure ! And YES inside out fishermans is so pretty, apparently the Coming Soon sweater, that I want to make this autumn too, is like that !
Love your honesty! I would try the isager yak sock yarn base if you're looking for another option; this is my favourite by far and I have knit socks for my husband in this that have lasted with no pilling at all even though he sometimes wears them multiple times a week and they get washed very often. The yarn also feels lovely in your hands while knitting it; after the socks for my husband I really wanted to make a whole sweater in the same yarn!

Hi Vanissia, I enjoy your honesty about your projects, being a beginner knitter, will be interested on what you have to say about your vest by Orlane as I knit her Wolke pattern and found it confusing on the arms, once I got it, I understood, but thought there must be a better way to say it, but I am a beginner and do take patterns very literal, and need my hand held. You make a lot! I am just doing the sleeve on my field day cardigan by Ozetta, and am loving it, and will make another, ad I think it is so great that the button band is knit concurrently with the body,so smart, as I really do not like picking up stitches! Take care, happy fall, I like your hair, we call it a bob in 🇨🇦.

Really loving your videos! And your hair! I really like how frank you are with the designs and pattern writings. It’s a relief to know that I’m not the only person who have certain feelings about something, such as the writing style of Jessie Mead’s pattern. (Loving her designs very much nonetheless!) As a knitting podcast consumer, I always love to know more about the potential caveats of any patterns so that I get a heads-up; but for a podcaster I can imagine it’s more difficult to say not-so-ideal things about a pattern than to compliment it. So really appreciate your effort in this and really like the balance you have in this aspect. Can’t wait for your new videos!

I certainly don't want to make anyone feel bad. But I also crave honest reviews so if I can provide them, I will ! Sometimes it's subjective (like how wordy Jessie Maed's patterns are), sometimes it can be objective (like if a yarn keeps breaking or the dye running), so I'll also make sure to specify things that are my opinion only!
Love your hair. Really suits you. And as always love the podcast. Good luck doing the sleeves on the Alder. Hope the texture knitting in the small circumference isn’t too tough. Have a good week. 😀

Thanks so much! And I've picked it up today and it's not bad ! Hopefully I can do it all without magic loop !

More stunning projects, so inspiring to me as I knit on Rebecca Clown’s Kerr Sweater while watching. The colors and their sequence in the Northwoods sweater are just perfection, you did a beautiful job! I think that duplicate stitch might work well to conceal the areas where you picked up only 1 strand of Suri in the Seasons Sweater. I am so looking forward to hopefully joining your next knit night - and your hair looks great!

Thank you so much for all the encouragements ! Will definitely try duplicate stitch. Have fun on your Kerr!
Thanks Vanissia! I love your color palette and yarn choices. I want to try the Rauwerk merino so bad, but the shipping is just too much to the US. I'll just have to keep living vicariously through my lovely UK podcasters. Also, thanks for setting up a Kofi, it's nice to be able to donate a little to support all your hard work. Thanks for the long, chatty podcasts ❤ also, your hair looks great!

Thank you so much Mikela ! Hopefully you get to try Rauwerk one day, or another similar woolen spun yarn, it's so fun to knit with ! The Fibre Co Lore was also woolen spun, and I'd say a bit softer than Rauwerk, so maybe that ? Happy knitting ♥
I recently worked on a brioche project and have patched a couple of places where I dropped my mohair strand using a duplicate stitch method like the one you described! I don‘t know if it is the best technique but it seems to have worked fine!

I love the new hair😍 looks amazing on you. I thought the same thing about the brim of the Oslo hat pre blocking, so when it was blocking i food it into the position I liked the most and that really helped. Cozy classic light looking very good so far👀❤️ also congrats for the 5k!!

thank you Flaminia !! Yes, good point about blocking !!
The new haircut really suits 😉 The set up of the colours on the sweater you are wearing looks good to me. You don't sound messy in your videos so you can relax 🙂 Thanks for making these videos. I'm slowly working on Hakea by Eisaku Noro Design team because managed to inflame four of my tendons so can only do a row or two now and then 😭

Oh thank you! It means a lot to hear that! Good luck with the tendons, that doesn't sound fun :(
I am currently obsessed with fishermans rib! Bought the Ozetta pattern awhile ago and it's next on my list so hopefully, you pick it back the same time I get to it❤. Thanks for another inspiring video. May have to try some of the yarns.

It's so good! It's one of my favourite stitches for sure. Glad you enjoyed the video, it's nice to try out many different types of yarn!
🌴☀️ Hello again. That knitting bag reminds me of The Green Bean podcast…she does many crafts including knitting, but one is drawing. She sketched like two pages of all the different breeds of sheep in Europe and they were actually published in a knitting publication in your neck of the woods. I love love love her podcast, so very tranquil. Anyhow I wanted to add my two cents about something you mentioned. You are not all over the place, this isn’t HBO or some network talk show🤭, this is more intimate, more of substance & with an audience that isn’t viewing by mistake. If you change a thing in this regard it would not be authentic which, I believe, is your “intention” and I thoroughly enjoy it and have suscribed to it. Perhaps if your goal was to run your channel like a “business” model then I understand your point of view but not in this case. This channel vibe is peaceful, it is my therapy of sorts & it’s a safe place to get cozy with my hooks/needles. AND I HAVE SO MUCH GRATITUDE🌷 keep being you xoxo☀️🌴

Thank you!! Very very good points about this not being a talk show or a business. It's just me, in my room, talking about yarn ! So I will keep that in mind and not set the standards to be that of a professional production aha. Thanks for the kind words !
I'm hoping to make the Moonset slipover this winter, too. Would be in for a mini KAL if you're up to it

Lovely video, as always! It was not messy at all. I am very impressed with all your progresses! Is alpaca not prickly for you? I tried it once. I knit a whole cardigan on 3mm needles with Drops Alpaca... only to realize after it was done that it was too scratchy, even with long sleeves. Bummer. I wonder if it depends on the type of alpaca. Oh et la coiffure 😍WOW, j'adore !!!!

Hello! Thank you so much for the reassurance. We are our own's worst critics, aren't we. And no, I quite like alpaca and it doesn't itch too much, except one sweater in drops nepal, at the neck a little bit, but thankfully i had added short rows so after it gets to body temperature, it's fine! But yeah we all react differently ! Et merci beaucoup! C'est un gros changement mais pas la premiere fois que je fais ca, donc moins peur aha !
Thank you for keeping me company while knitting. Love your podcast!

Just started watching your videos but already can tell they'll be so nice to craft along to! I just moved to scotland (fife area) and would love if you have any local (or semi-local) tips of places to shop/check for sales/etc! There's no yarn stores right near me and I am definitely missing them!

Aw thanks, and welcome aboard ! I'd recommend a local podcaster to you, MadebyJo, she is lovely!! And as far as i know, the woolly brew is in fife, but if you dont mind shopping online, then there are a ton with amazing brands from afar !

@@traceyh3675 oh fantastic ! Enjoy ! It's my most worn item this year!
When you ssk, do you slip the first knitwise and the second purlwise? That works for me, with also knitting through the loop the next round.

Yeah I have been doing that as of late ! I'll keep trying little changes every time until I settle for one I am happy with :P
Don't cut it, do duplicate stitch. I tried that on a piece last year and it looked totally perfect, and no danger of loose ends working out or other complications.
