THE WOMAN KING | MOVIE REVIEW
Hi everyone! In this video I am reviewing The Woman King, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and starring Viola Davis, Lashana Lynch, Thuso Mbedu, Sheila Atim and John Boyega. Did you know about the history of this all-female army before watching the movie? Let me know in the comments!

No matter how wonderful an actress Viola may be. The story is changed and totally depicts the events how they did NOT happen. So, no one wants to mention that the historical facts are all wrong. This should not be called a historical drama movie, when in fact it changes the bad guys into the good guys and vice versa. It is disappointing that a black actress is depicting a fake story about strong black women, when in real life, we have had so many strong wonderful back female heros. There was no need to make up a fake story, when we already have the honest material to depict so many black females as heros.

Educate yourself before speaking . It’s the one of millions untold stories of redemption and changing their ways to fight then fight back against they slavery system they had in place … and colonialism . Should’ve watched the movie first or studied the many redemption stories in Africa . 💡💡💡

I understand. I honestly don't think movies need to water down people's histories to make a compelling Hollywood film. I think the movie could have had a sharper focus on the kingdom's slave trade and I'd still be interested in the story. But I also understand the focus on the women's army because it is an unusual historical note. If you were a filmmaker would you have not made the movie at all, or would you have condemned the Dahomey kingdom even more on screen?

It's a joke . Blacks sold other blacks . That is the history.
