Even though this is technically the worst ending possible, I have a feeling the developers meant it as a comforting conclusion to players who lost almost every other person who was important to Geralt. To show that he still had a loyal friend in Dandelion who cared about him.

Not the good ending if you've managed to lose Triss, Yennefer and Ciri...

When the DLC first came out, you had the option (still do I think?) to start a Blood and Wine stand-alone where Geralt completed the mainline quests. Dandelion was the only option for a visitor. Maybe all three are alive, maybe only Ciri is. Maybe Geralt romances one. It's up to your imagination. So Dandelion endings are necessarily bad. Given this specific dialogue, it seems the player actually played the main game and messed up Pricilla's quest. Which does mean he hasn't seen Ciri since the end of the main quest and left her to an implied death.

Pelinal Whitestrake that armour is not all bad statistically, it can be of the highest level’s craftsmanship and offer fair bit of protection, but it’s also the armour of Nilffgardian Army (one of the army branch in the game, and the politics are so shit you really have no choice but to despise every king you meet in the game)

only surprising because of the character assassination the games perpetrated on my boy Dandelion

It's sad that to get this ending you have to have Ciri die and not romance either Triss or Yennefer (or romance both and have them both leave you) but it's nice that at least Dandelion comes to visit you. He's such a good friend, especially since by being there he's putting himself in danger because the duchess wants his head lol. I like to think that perhaps he's checking up on Geralt, making sure he's okay. After all the loss of a daughter is an extremely traumatic experience, on top of all the other crap poor Geralt goes through. So in my headcanon Dandelion comes to Corvo Bianco to check up on Geralt and to try and cheer him up. And the gift he gives Geralt of a painting of himself, although appearing rather narcissistic on the surface, is to remind Geralt that he still has friends he can lean on (and also maybe to get a chuckle out of since it is a rather ridiculous-looking painting lol).

I feel like it was meant to be a consolation though, since Dandelion is such a cheerful guy and loyal friend. So after losing Yennefer, Triss, Ciri, Henrietta, and Regis (from him leaving) it was a way to let the player know Geralt wasn't all alone.

Im pretty sure he meant that he got the good ending in the expansion.. isn't it a little obvious?

Dandelion literally risked his life just to come support his friend. He's a good guy.

I just finished the game for the second time and just bought the DLC. I got the ciri witcher ending (best one in my opinion) and I romanced Yen. I know now I will get Yen at the home in Tousaint or whatever the place is called. I am disappointed though that you can't get both Ciri and Yen. It would seem the most fitting and comforting seeing as Yen and Geralt are adoptive parents of Ciri. My ending will be with Yen of course, but I would really hate having to choose between yen and ciri because I am equally torn. Damn shame. This game is a masterpiece, but I feel like some potential is lost in the post main story experience. I wish there were more radiant quests and activites to do to keep the world alive. I wish modders would have modded in some Kaer Morhen rebuilt/repopulate functionality. This game is apparently the end of Geralt's story but I read recently that the witcher series is most likely not over. I am imagining a new witcher game similar to assassin's creed revelations where you have to go back to Kaer Morhen and rebuild the witcher school or at the very least explore it for some secrets involving tge trial of the grasses. also find old witchers to train new witchers, maybe some cameos of very old Lambert, Eskel, Ciri, Yen, or Triss or some other witcher character. Learn about what happened after the events of witcher 3. God I hope we get to see a witcher 4 not too far off into the future. The major problem I see is that the witcher 3 endings were so very different and happened in different theaters entirely. Obviously they can't make like 4 or 5 different games to fit the ending of witcher 3. Idk I am rambling now. The idea of witcher 4 is an exciting daydream.

If they do a Witcher 4, it won't be for a while. The main character would be Ciri. Probably a few cameos with an old Geralt and an old Yennefer. Not saying Geralt is not already old, but it'd be clear that both are in their final years.

I don't know. Geralt and Yen are both within a few years of 100; geralt is about 97 and yen is 102 or 103. I read the sorceresses can live for hundreds of years maybe more, and Vezimir was in his late second or third century of life and he was still very spry and youthful. So geralt is still very young as a witcher, not to mention that he endured additional experimental trials that could prolong his already prolonged witcher lifespan. Also, it is assumed Geralt went into retirement after defeating the wild hunt, so his life is likely prolonged by that alone. I bet if there was a witcher 4, there would be a reason for people to need witchers again and Geralt would have to come back out of retirement to train new witchers, and the game could be about the rise of witchering. I wouldn't be against Ciri as a main character, but I won't lie, it would be hard to be as immersed in the character/game if I had to play as Ciri, but I don't think for a second it would detract from the story.

​@@sirdave2985 I don't think it works that way XD If you're in the menu & press play, you can choose either of the DLCs to play as a standalone. In blood & wine's case, if you start it as a standalone, you technically don't have any choices to lead to a specific ending, so they give you Dandelion as the standby, for lack of a better term.

Idk what some of you are talking about but ciri survived and became a Witcher and showed up but yen showed up as well to give me a letter or something. I romanced both in that run so neither ended up loving me but yen still showed up she just didn't stay

i started a new game without playing the base game, just straight to the dlc's, i was fine with not romancing anyone, at least there was Ciri. Then, Regis asked about her at the cemetery and I knew from the tone in Geralt's response that Ciri had died and it was like my world had crumbled, my day was ruined

No, this is a bad ending. Ciri's dead, you're relationship-less, you didn't even track down Priscilla's attacker. True you managed the Ribbon Ending, the Duchy sisters reconciling, so only for Blood and Wine story it's good.

(Or Syanna kills her sister, which I assume you don't regard as a happy ending) She endured a crappy life because of her birth circumstances and you'd condemn her to death? She mentions that she tried to break up with Dettlaff but he didn't accept, and was not the type to move on. Syanna does not get a chance to get her life back on track until you reconcile the sisters lol. Regis should have known Dettlaff better, after all that talk of them being 'more than blood brothers', he failed to see how emotionally stunted and wounded Dettlaff was. Being the only person in the vicinity that was capable of killing Dettlaff, he took the responsibility onto himself. Regis was anathema only to the vampires in Toussaint, the ones close to Dettlaff. Look at the shit Orianna pulls, and she's capable of being a calm and rational 'person'. Dettlaff is NOT capable of being calm and rational, so how can you, as a Witcher, justify letting him walk? The dude went nuclear on an entire city because he was not allowed to talk to (or in his case, kill) his ex-lover, and you'd rather let him walk? What's to say someone else does not do the same thing to him and he wipes out a few cities in anger? The reconciling ending is the happy ending of B&W, Regis' fate being the only bittersweet part.

It's the good ending because he's not bailing you out of gaol, which happens if you spare Detlaff.

Do you even get the dialogue regarding Priscilla if you played all the way through? It sounds like the quest was "failed", which makes me think this was a B&W only playthrough.

he mentioned pricilla being attacked. did you not do that quest? what happened if you do?

If you want spoilers, read on. If not, stop reading. She was attacked by a serial killer, barely lived. Geralt tracks him down with the help of a local ex-military surgeon/mortician. The main suspect is his former teacher/rival but in the end it turns out it's the surgeon. The quest basically cuts off there with priscilla recovering and she's never seen later in the game.

People pls realise that this is the good ending for Blood and wine since Ana Henrietta is good with Syenna. The fact that Geralt got bad endings before doesn't make this one the same. This is actually a win.

Dandelion appears for those people who fresh start the dlc, without continuing from finished main game and for those who doesn't romanced anyone in main game or for those who got the worst ending in main game... so yes, Dandelion is most common option, but I like him :)

Because you will have already missed a quest or 2 earlier in the game. There’s a quest called Cabaret where you help redesign the Rosemary & Thyme, and a quest following that called Carnal Sins where you help find out who actually attacked Priscilla. If you did those quests way before going to Toussaint, Hubert Rejk (a higher vampire who was really the criminal that ordered the attacks) is righteously convicted of his crimes. Thus, Priscilla is still OK & Dandelion finally hears good news.
