    Stunning performance by the most underrated band the US punk scene had, i have been researching Greg and the wipers for a while now and still can't find out what he is doing now. All i know is that he remastered the new Wipers Power in One LP how it should be on LP, nothing saddens Greg than transfering his genius unqiue recordings to digital. Greg kept it real he was the figure the outcasts of the Northwest looked up to, what a performer to.

    @carrerlluna66 I first discovered them living in Boston around '84 (way pre-Nirvana) via college radio (WMBR, WZBC, WHRB).The song was "When It's Over" made an immediate impression and have been digging them ever since. Was lucky enough to have seen them live when they toured the East coast in '87 and '89. So yeah, Boston is one of the few non-PNW areas where they had (have?) a big following.

    Ummagumarios Yeah ... At first I didn't believe it. But I think it's insane how talented he is/was. Did he take a normal guitar and play it upside down? Did he re-string his guitar E B G D A E (backwards) so that it'd be forwards upon his turning it upside down or did he play with the strings in the "wrong" order?

  • @Ummagumarios

    @Ummagumarios

    9 жыл бұрын

    Well his guitar is a right-handed one but he put the strings up-side down so he could play left handed. That means that the lower E string is still on top, but the guitar is flipped over. That fact probably is what makes him sound so unique :)

    Well in the early 70's he was in a band and he was playing right handed. Then he just started playing left handed. it was difficult but he noticed that the sound was different. I think playing left handed made him play other things and sound different. Everything makes a guitar sound different. I don't know why...
