It is proving a useful exercise for me too. Now all I need is a Winds of Winter release date 😬.

Thanks for making these videos, it really helps sum things up. I have not read the books for a few years now. Being a book snob, I stopped watching the show when it got ahead of the books. Though I’ve not watched the last few seasons, I heard how it trailed off in quality. I hope beyond hope that GRRM can finish WoW, though at this point I don’t think we will ever see A Dream of Spring.

I glad it’s helpful. I feel your pain about A Dream of Spring, as I guess we all do. I have some faith in there being more done that we are not aware of and wouldn’t be surprised if due to GRRMs writing style if it is hard to tell where the two books start and end in his sprawling manuscript. I think the publishers probably know more than we do.

I don’t totally agree with your assessment. The Westerlands isn’t truly controlled by anyone after Kevan murder. The Riverlands are a burnt mess with the Freys plotting against each other. Baelish has gold and spies but no army. Dorne is firmly in the hand of the Martells. The Vale is buried in intrigue. The Ironborn are raiding. The Stormlands are conquered and the North is divided and buried in snow. In other words it’ll make for an interesting read
