    Hi Andy. Big fan of your show. Never commented before. Wanted to offer a little additional info on Iga's record. Since the beginning of 2022, Iga's record is 180 - 24, which is 88%. Her record against top 10 players during that time is 36 - 9 or 80%. Here is one I haven't seen mentioned. Since the start of 2022, she has entered 45 tournaments and has won 19 of them (8 on clay and 11 on hard courts). In other words, she has won 42% of the tournaments she has entered in that time, including 4 of her 5 grand slams, 1 WTA final, and 9 of her 10 WTA 1000 titles. And as you know, she just turned 23. She is not there on grass yet, but if she stays healthy, she will get there, just like her idol Nadal did.

    Great review Andy, as always! I would have had Sabalenka winning Wimby if she wasn't injured. Just today, during the press conference, she said she can't serve and might even pull out. Hopefully, that's not the case, we shall see. So with Sabalenka being injured and Rybakina being ill, Gauff is probably the top favorite

    I feel like Andy glossed over some interesting matchups in early WTA rounds. Since this is grass, there is so much scope for potential upsets. I personally don’t think Marketa is going to have an easy path to defend the title with many banana peels like Volynets even before approaching Iga.

    Uh…I think everyone seems to have forgotten that Iga has added 10+ mph to her first and second serve. If you look at the match averages, she is faster on average than Coco with a far higher level of consistency and level with Rybakina now. Not saying she serves like Elena but I think people are going to be surprised, it’s why she is so dominant this year, that one fluke loss to Noskova aside. And her movement is a massive asset like Steffi’s was.

    Very good points. Swiatek has basically led or been top 2-3 in most every positive service stat the last two seasons. That gets missed or glossed over cuz the general thinking is only players hitting the most aces/service winners are great, dangerous servers. But that thinking tends to neglect the high double fault counts and how important just hitting a high % of 1st serves & having a very solid 2nd serve are.

    Andy, you never cease to impress me. I am a certified Iga fan, she has always been unfairly analyzed to the point that most commentators make negative comments against her no matter the surface, to unsettle her and just coz they dislike her or they dislike her consistently beating their faves. BUT YOU, I take note of your comments why Iga is vulnerable on grass. What you said are all valid and well but fairly analyzed. However, I think her team and iga are built different and she becomes wiser and i believe she will win this year. And, so brave, smart and bold for you to still choose her despite her vulnerabilities on grass. Says a lot about how well you know tennis, and as as yoda of tennis, you know that Iga is a generational talent and cant be dismissed easily. She is just godly on clay and outstanding on hard but she just needs to get used to grass. Please reserve a podcast on the fairness and cleanliness of draws coz iga is the only ranked 1 player who gets the toughest draws every damned time. No less than iga says that, she gets draws tougher than when she was unseeded. How come, lower half always has no big hitters and they are all reserved in iga's draw. I think this draws can be manipulated and they really make things hard for iga. How many times has almost all say that iga always gets the toughest draws. What are the odds of that happening 99% of the time? I hope iga gets even better because they never make her breathe, and she thrives on that as her common draws TO MAKE HER EVEN GREAT coz she gets to face all big players.

    Think Sinner/Alcaraz will be a 4-5 set dandy, if Carlos does not get upset earlier. Think Sinner’s draw stacked. Not sure who Sasha will play before Novak. Think Novak has the easiest draw. If the knee really is incredibly healing - just incredible - I will take Yannik over Carlos in 4 & Novak over Sasha in 4 - then Nole over Yannik in 4. Think the Djoker’s Serve/Volley power placement & precision will carry the day if the mental focus is @ that Super-Djoker level (and knee stays pain-free/body stays high performance level). Thanx Andy-JW. Cheers, Milan.

    I think it is a very close match between Alcaraz and Sinner, but if you talk about picking NVIDIA, Sinner is the clear NVIDIA here, you cannot base your judgement on the last tournament result (and btw was on clay which is the best surface for Carlos) Sinner is 38-3 YTD, Alcaraz is 26-6, I mean there is nothing wrong having Alcaraz as your favorite, he's probably mine too depending on how they arrive to this match, but if you talk about Nvidia I feel like the comparison is more suited to Sinner than Alcaraz

    Navarro lost 1st rd in Berlin but she was in the SF in Bad Homburg. Looked very good there. And that 1st rd loss was to Siniakova, not some also-ran. is this the same Korda who was getting similar hype last year then went out in Round 1 to J. Vesely but this year he's got a shot at making the final? okay. • @flat6croc

    @flat6croc

    Ай бұрын

    @@_MrAvocado_ You're missing the point. If Joker's knee pushes him out, who are the seasoned Wimbledon finalists I'm overlooking in that half of the draw? There are none. Korda is a great all round player, Draper just won a grass tournament and has the perfect game to do well, Hurkacz has a great game for grass and is by far the most experienced in that half. The point is that if the knee turns out to be an issue early on, the last 16 in that half of the draw will have very few big names bar Hurkacz and, personally, I like Korda and Draper to do well. And if they do well, they won't have to beat any big player to get to the final. But feel free to list all the other obvious picks from that half of the draw. There's really only Fritz, and I'm not convinced his form is that great right now. Draper or Korda beating Fritz would hardly be a shock and that or Hurkacz is going to be their toughest test to get to the final. And they won't both have to beat Hurkazc.

    At Roland Garros draw breakdown Andy devoted more time and analysis to pick winners of matches between non-elite players, which was interesting and added value to his analysis in general. Viewers could then follow results of those matches and see how those reflected the initial predictions. Andy got some really good picks there. This time he just breezed thru the non-elite matches and it looks like in some round 1 matches he didn’t care whom to pick as a winner just because this player doesn’t advance much further. To me this decreased the value of the show, because in round 1 and 2 it is actually more interesting to follow matches between more evenly ranked players.

    No Andy, you are not crazy. I actually think, that even if Djokovic wins his 2-3 rounds in 3 sets, he will retire once something more difficult and longer occurs. He didn't play well this year and didn't have many opportunities to train for such a big event since his injury, he had no chance to rise the level. For me, there is no reason to believe he will be in SF. The final for me looks more like Sinner vs Hurkacz. Also, personally I don't see players like Michelsen, Nakashima, Sonego or even Khachanov and Zverev going so far in the competition.

    I feel bad for Shapovalov. He is the most naturally gifted tennis player I've ever seen... and he's never won a major. His unforced errors kill him. I don't know what's wrong. Bad coaching. Not enough discipline. Shapovalov is kind of a Renaissance man too. He's a gifted musician and loves animals. Maybe he was never able to focus enough. I don't have an answer. I just feel badly for Shapovalov.
