Just wanted to contribute some info to the comments: most clay cannot be directly heated like this without cracking. Types of clay that can are called “flameware.” They’re specifically formulated for this purpose, are more expensive to manufacture, and are generally more difficult to throw/build with than standard stonewares. Don’t try this with regular old clay as it’ll crack or at worst, blow up. Flameware like this can also be heated on gas burners and go under the broiler. You can usually bake in standard pottery ceramic, but it can’t usually stand direct heat. You can find flameware clay recipes and flameware glaze recipes online if you Google- that can be a place to start. I think there are a few clay manufacturers in the continental US who sell it too, if you’re willing to look for it and don’t want to make your own. Beautiful work! Love the kettle! I’ve been wanting to make with flameware too. PS if y’all will upvote this comment, other people will get to see it too. Cheers!

happen to know what kind of glaze that might be? i only see glossy, especially when it comes to holding liquid.

@@gedion4000 looks like some kind of semi-matte glaze. Glaze chemistry is really complicated and I’d guess this artist mixes their own glazes. Since it’s on flameware it probably has a really low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion so it’ll fit the flameware. Not all clay can be used like this, and not all glazes can be used on flameware safely. Matte glazes can hold liquid safely if they have the right qualities and are fully mature.

@@StoneAndersonStudio yeah i dont have any experiance with flameware but its something id love to try. part of the reason i asked about the glaze is most of them are WAY beyond me, and you seemed more knowlegable. i was right! i dont even attempt understanding glaze lol. Cheers, and thank you.

Just found this and as I am a potter was very interested in your work. Beautiful work thanks from Tasmania.
Your elegant and un-fussy aesthetic is one that I aspire to. I hope one day to be able to make such beautiful forms! I always learn so much from watching you work. Thank you so much for posting!
Love the design of the pot and stove!!!

So beautiful!
The fuel, is it a reusable source? Thank you to the potter who explained the difference in the clay bodies. Making the coil foot was a new thing I learned from your video and different tools to use as chucks! Thank you🌺
such great artistic hands
I love watching your work come together, but I really want to scan your QR code on your arm 😅

Amazing!!
Very good
saya sangat suka
Absolutely beautiful. Love the clay and your attention to detail. Do you sell your work in the US?
Excelente te work and relaxing video. What type of slip do you use? Thank you!
Bravo!
the part where you set the kiln is like sci-fi shoot .)
impressive
Beautiful design. Why do you add clay to make a foot ring instead of leaving enough thickness to trim a foot? Also I was taught to use the tongs in the opposite direction with the horizontal prongs on the outside to follow the curve of the pot and provide a better grip.
How much clay did you use for the first vessel? Beautiful and very well filmed!
I already want this really bad
This is so cool! How much clay-by weight-do you start out with? And what type of clay? Is it a stoneware or porcelain?
👏👏👏
You are a badass, sir. Very cool channel. 😎 バダス
It would be nice if the artist gave info about type of clay, glaze and firing. Lovely to watch but would be great to have some specifics.
Beautiful! Can I ask what glaze you use?
As a manufacturing engineer my inclination is to suck the life and magic out of this process with tooling and automation.
I wish I could get my hands on that beautiful glaze recipe. Is it a special clay that can be heated over fire?
@StoneAndersonStudio

Only clays specifically formulated to go over a fire can. It’s called “flameware.” Look up flameware recipes online for a place to begin!
Trabalho notável...
In God's Name please make it 8 hours long and no previous just straight through its so relaxing 😌 or 3 hours thank you so much for this 👍🏾‼️
Atentamente, E.LL.
I enjoyed watching you create your clay kettle and stove. I would love to have a set for myself and wondering if there is a store in the US that carries your collection. If not, how can I buy a set online? Thank you for sharing.

I’d love to buy a few items, I’m in US, but for some reason I can’t get to the store, do you happen to have a store in English? Do you ship to the US? I love the talent, the craftsmanship and attention to detail you put into your pieces, awesome work!!!

After watching you and Florian Gadsby, I saw an American potter work for the first time. The experience was kinda jarring because American potters wheels turn the wrong way. lol wwww
You’re about time to make unique.
What type of clay are you using

How do you keep the lip of the spout from twisting in the firing?

This first time you made tea pot and send me websites? I would like buy.

Where can I buy this? I’m from the US, can I get it shipped here?
What temperature does it cook on
Don't create line on the knob? Love from Pakistan.
Who is that people who put dislike)))😀 Is perfect:)
What kind of clay you use ?
Great work! But, please, add subs!!!
What kind of clay do you use? Flame ware?
Let me introduce myself, I am Link and I'm looking for Zeld... Are those pots? Maybe i could come in and ...
Does anyone know what type of glaze that is?
Interested in buying this beautiful piece. Do you have a distributor in Australia? Thank you. Beautiful work .
