Oceanic plates are denser than continental plates for anyone confused. Just read up on any textbook. They subduct underneath during a destructive plate margin because of this.

Oceanic crust is denser than continental because of compression from the ocean. 6:00. Otherwise incredibly helpful as there is nothing else as good as this on KZread for geography.
