Yep…Hawkwing’s Rise and Fall video Please!
Spoilers I think they would move to Mayene over the Two Rivers; Both because Galad is practically guaranteed to marry the First and because they are still hated basically everywhere. Unlike the Asha'man, the Whitecloaks didn't have any real big hero moment during the Last Battle like saving trapped civilians, they really didn't have any hero like moment at all in the books outside charging the Seanchan in Falme and no one knows what really happened there. Also, they just got out of a coup, losing their base of operations, a Civil war, an Attack from a massive Trolloc army, and then losing even more soldiers on one of the least dangerous fronts of the Last battle, and to top it all off their new leader just lost an arm and is most likely going to be bedridden for a long time after the Last battle, leaving his second in command in charge of immediate reform and reconstruction of the order, and since that guy seriously considered attacking the Ogier fighting alongside them and naming them Darkfriends, I don't think they'll do that great.

Further spoilers HALF THE WHITECLOAKS ARE DARKFRIENDS!
Great overview and summary. However I think it would have been a bit better if you provided a bit more detail about Pedron Niall. His control of the order for so long had a huge influence on how they were perceived during the time of the books. The fact that Niall was considered to be one of the five great Captains of the current age and was a hero of the Aiel war directly impacted how the Children were viewed by normal people as well as how they were treated by many different nations. Also we see them as having been infiltrated repeatably by darkfriends at low and high levels. I think Jordan wanted to show the extreme nature of the Children made them especially easy for darkfriends to infiltrate and/or manipulate by the Shadow.
Yes Please! We absolutely want a video about Hawkwing’s history! Also, thank you for all the lore videos that you research for us all. Well honestly, all of your videos, they are fun and informative. You are much loved Nae’blis!
So glad to see more non-show content. I really enjoyed the show’s first season, but the dissection of it has run its course for me.
Great video once again, thank you! Just to be pedantic...rivers don't originate at the sea. At 8:42 you mentioned the river Aldar - it actually originates in the mountains of mist, not Ebou Dar. Otherwise, flawless! And yes, a video on Artur Hawkiwing would be great.
Great video Naeblis! They are the epitome of radical zealots and reading them reminds me of a combination of Spanish Inquisition, Puritans in the US and the KKK. Having them in books adds another dimension to the complexity of humanity and our stereotypical prejudices.

Exactly. I often do not read the withe cloak chapters
Absolutely, Yes! Please make the Arthur Hawkwing! P.S. I really like your shirt. P.P.S. Skid marks earn them spankings.
Great video, sir! Definitely a Hawkwing video. I like characters in stories that are antagonist are not necessarily good or evil. Thank for the video. Have a great weekend!
Could be wrong, but I though when Galad swore to Perin the oath was only until after the last battle. With their history I can't see anyone wanting to let them settle in the the Two Rivers.
Military/Religious Zealots are believable in any time period and can be some of the most frightening antagonists in fiction if written correctly. There are real-life examples of such groups that allow us to feel the fear the protagonists feel in the story.

But suggesting it's limited to "military/religious zealots" is not cynical enough imo. There are an AWFUL lot of people willing to excuse ANY amount of malice or harm in pursuit of their ideals. I'd say it describes the modern culture war and the exploitation of such rhetoric by political factions. (it's how we end up with ordinary citizens invading the capital of the US, while on the other side there are endless numbers of people willing to decry anyone a racist, or "darkfriend" if you will, based more on personal dislike than on any actionable evidence. It's scary how these patterns do seem to keep swirling around in an endless cycle... right? :P And always to remember, many of the true believers will remain blind to the problems and inconsistencies... not because they're bad, but because they can't seem to believe that somebody sharing their philosophy or opinions could POSSIBLY be bad.
More videos plox :) While I freely admit that I am a book nerd and have read all of the books in this series several times, I truly like and enjoy these breakdown videos. They are a nice refresher and occasionally I learn something that I did not know.
5:42 - Oh gee I wonder why the children establish their base in Amador, the city on the opposite end of the map from Tar Valon...
Looking forward to watching this video. The concept of the Whitecloacks in world is fascinating to me. I am curious to see how they changed from what they were like at the beginning of their organization to the time during the events in the book. As to the Whiteboard question, it depends. They would only be kicked out if the skid marks (or any other bodily fluids) are on the outside.
I grew up as a Mormon, like Rafe Judkins did. This is an observation from that, but the white cloaks outfits look shockingly similar to the Mormons temple clothing. Look it up if you’re curious. There’s a robe that goes from the right to the left shoulder, just like in the show. There’s also other pieces of clothing that are similar as well.

Interesting
I love that you're getting back to this kind of content.
Thanks for doing these. I really enjoy.
Lore videos are fantastic as many as you can make I will watch 😁
Excellent video, and well covered! Thanks for the content!
Looking good! Your efforts show.
Lots of great little details in there
I've always..... appreciated the Children of the Light. The depth and nuance they turn out to have was vastly surprising. As I'm plotting out my next D&D game world, I'm totally ripping them off. I hadn't realized they had only been based in Amador for the past 60(c) years. Their presence always felt much longer than that. Overall, I'm enjoying the presentation in the show, love the monk-like outfit. I do hope that in later seasons, as we see them prepare for battle, that shining breastplates are pulled out. Show/Book Spoiler Musings: What are ppl's thoughts on Child Valda? I feel the book Eamon (Lord Captain) has been done away with, and we're getting a different take on Byar. Due to their making him one of the Hand of the Light (though still only with the title "Child") I'm worried they will also combine with Joachim, tying three great villains into one. I really don't want him to turn out as DF, because non-Shadow villains were so awesome in WoT. P.s. Because of pov using different names, it was a couple of re-reads before I realized what had happened to the Questioner. One of those mind breaking moments when I realized the off-screen stuff that had to have gone on. :D
Great channel, love your content!
Great Video, thank you for making a new lore video.
Missed these! 🥰
Great video. Thanks!
While I never hated Galad, he was a very mindor character in my book and I never through much of him. When he JOINED THE WHITECLOAKS I wrote him off as a lost cause. But as I realized at the end, he turned out to be a good guy. I might be alone on this, but as I felt that Nyaneve became what I feel is a TRUE Aes Sedai (the organisation had veered off from being a "servant of all" at this point) with an urge to heal all and help people, Galand did not really joing the Whitecloaks, he joined the Children of the Light! I believed in their original premise, not the corrupted mess it had become. And I have to admit, I never saw this coming despite Perrin's history with the 'cloaks. A conflict yes, it had gone too far to be anything else. A versus battle maybe. But joining as ALLIES? Never! I am with it, don't get me wrong, but I never saw it coming. Galad is now up there with some of my favorite people in the series. :-D
Great video, i always guest they would settle down in Mayene because of the "relationship" between Galad and Berelain.
As always your breakdown videos are full of facts and information. Jordan’s world is so immense and complicated. You are the Master, we bow to your knowledge A video on Artur Hawkwing is a must do!
Arthur Hawkwing video yes, yes, yes! How is this even a question? Pleeeease make it asap. Pretty please. 😍
Great stuff! A video dedicated to Hawkwing's life and military campaign would be really cool. Leading up to the armies sent over the Aryth Ocean that would become the Seanchan. Keep it up!
Thank you, very informative and interesting. I enjoyed hearing a good compilation of all the facts from the books. You tell a good story. In the show they seem more ruthless with less morals, curious to see how show Galad deals with them and his arc.
When I was describing the WoT world to a buddy to convince him to watch the show the idea of a military body that answered to essentially no one other than themselves got him excited to watch.
Yes! Always more lore content please 😁
Yes, Artur Hawkwing, please!
1000% yes to a Hawkwing video 👍
Yes, re Hawkwing
The group I love to hate the most! Yay, more book content, keep it coming! Thanks for all the hard work
A)Hawkwing video yesmorepleasethankyou. B) "Questioning"="Enhanced Interrogation Techniques"
Any reason you don't think they would have followed Galad and Berelain to Mayene to combine their strengths? Great vid btw

I think that’s possible as well
Unless it is expected that they simply took over an existing basilica and fortress in Amador, considering the size of the Dome of Truth and how long it would take to build such a structure, I find it hard to believe the Whitecloaks set up a home base there in about 930NE. If we think of it in terms of one of the big European Cathedrals, 50-70 years minimum construction time just for the Dome of Truth, and potentially as long as 150 years. Seems more realistic that they had been based there for 200+ years really.
Hawkwing!
Love this video. I would have added the likely pairing of Galad and Berelain, hopefully making some impossibly beautiful offspring.
"The Whitecloaks (what a show) The Whitecloaks (here we go) We know you're wishin' That we'd go awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay But the Whitecloaks are here and we're here to staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay" *jazz hands*
In regards to your white board. Yes 😂
Skidmarks hahahaha! This is what we need more of the books and less of the tv show. I was disappointed on Pedron Niall's story. Being one of the great captains, I thought he would go to a massive war against one of the big kingdoms but his story was short.
Thanks that’s useful. I can’t remember the end of the WoT series… I mean I remember the main stuff. But that didn’t include the whitecloaks 😂 I didn’t like the arm thing though, I remember that 🙈
Please do a video of Artur Hawkwing!

Just released it!
It was somewhat ironical that Children of Light while all their talk about leading the world out of the last battle proved to be the least equipped when the war actually came.😅 Poor Pedron Niall thought he would unite the whole of Westlands under the banner of the light to defeat the shadow but his whole organisation was in shambles long before the war came.
Yaaaas Artur Hawking pls!
Can you do a video on Rand please
I wouldn't say they're "affectionately" called Whitecloaks, but rather *derisively*
More lore videos
I think it would have been ironic if instead of a whiteboard, you used a black chalkboard for this video. A video on rose and fall of Hawkwing is a great idea. I think after the Last Battle the rest of the Whitecloacks will merge with the rest of the Mayener army to create a larger army.
video
The children of the light stand united against the shadow, in all its forms. This includes certain shows and media content covering the wheel of time.
Any adult with skid marks gets fired.
hahahahaha Skidmarks!
Wheele of woke stop promoting the blatant woke adaptation be honest no one wants the broken Amazon story to continue propagandize a great heros journey story
