The Wheel of Time: Daniel Henney on the Trolloc Fight Sequence and Lan's Journey

From showrunner Rafe Judkins and based on one of the most popular fantasy series of all time, the Amazon Studios drama The Wheel of Time is set in a world where magic exists and it follows the story of Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai. After she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers with her loyal Warder, Lan (Daniel Henney), the two quickly find themselves on the run with Egwene (Madeleine Madden), Rand (Josha Stradowski), Perrin (Marcus Rutherford), Mat (Barney Harris) and Nynaeve (Zoë Robins), any of whom could potentially be the Dragon Reborn, who is prophesied to either save the world or destroy it.
During this 1-on-1 interview with Collider, which you can both watch and read, Henney talked about how proud he is of the series, his first meeting with co-star Pike, the vision board that he created 10 years ago with the book cover, why he likes to approach characters from a physical standpoint, shooting the epic fight sequence in the first episode, and Lan’s journey this season.

Daniel Henney was my fan pick for Lan years ago what-if-ing with a buddy of mine, if the story ever made it to the screen. So when I found out about the casting I was blown away. I knew he would be incredible as Lan, and he is exactly that. Every episode I watch just gets better and better. Lan is one of my all time favorite characters in fantasy... and Henney is bringing it to life in such an incredible way. I am beyond happy. I would love to see a New Spring mini-series some day.
Trying to manifest the entire series being completed over the next few (or many) years...so many books, such a vast world. I WANT to see ALL of it! And MORE of Daniel Henney 😍

why hasn't this interview gotten a million views?!?!!! this was amazing!! i can't imagine anyone else as Lan. Daniel nailed it. I gasped the first time he appears on screen. THERE IS NO OTHER CHOICE.
Daniel Henney is doing an amazing job on the WoT! My overwhelming favorite character/actor on the show. And he seems like a humble person. Loved that Rafe had him in mind for the role and Daniel solidified it. Also made me tear up as he talked about the reasons why the role is so important for him

I love wheel of time and I am a fan of Daniel Henney he really is doing a great job by playing Lan. But I somehow get the feeling that he is sad or tired? But maybe I am overinterpreting things like usual ;-). But back to the topic I hope for a long wheel of time show with Daniel Henney as Lan :-)
