The Well - High Lonesome 100

Спорт

Follow three runners along in their journey through the 2022 High Lonesome 100. Chris McBride has captained the Lost Wonder Hut (mile 55) aid station every year, and finally gets the chance to run the race. His family continues to volunteer and work that aid station even while he runs the race.
Rachel Meier returns to the race after not finishing the previous year. She's motivated to succeed but knows that to beat the cutoff she will have to dig deep.
Dave Mackey is looking for the next challenge following his successful return to the 100 distance as an adaptive athlete.
Filmed by Jahrig Media, this film was sponsored by Laws Whiskey, Altra, and Coros.

Running one mile with a prosthetic is a feat. Running 31 with one is superhuman.

SO good! It’s fun to watch the pros race and break CRs, but honestly it’s the people in the middle and back of the pack that carry the real inspiration.

Three inspirational stories weaved together beautifully within the backdrop of the Sawatch. Dave is an ultrarunning legend and his story is well known, What a gracious warrior on a tough day. Love Rachel's warrior story as well, fighting to finish and vowing to come back. For me, the story that resonates so much is Chris. What a legacy moment for him with his boys. A legacy moment for Chris and the race he helped build. As a grandmaster, I am inspired to see another run so well with joy and purpose. I have spent time each summer in the Sawatch for five decades and have summited the 14ers, some many times. Running and hiking on these trails is special. Your crew painted an incredible picture of the southern Sawatch! My friend Kaci Lickteig will be there in 2024. I will be running some of those trails this summer to prepare for an October 100 miler near me. Thanks for a great film!

Three extraordinary athletes with three incredible experiences on this beautiful course. As a person who is always chasing cut offs, I have so much admiration and respect for Rachel's great effort. Thank you for this wonderful film.

Mom saying, "If she doesn't finish this year I know she'll be back next year" is the best kind of support when you're pushing in an endurance event. Love that energy.

Great film. I'm always inspired by what motivates people to accomplish such seemingly superhuman feats as running 100 miles, at altitude no less. Congrats to all.

Such a good watch! Just touches the soul. I believe this is a major reason why I am getting into ultras, is the deep seeded territory to be explored. I would be thrilled if you could share the playlist you have going on in the background.
