When I was small, in our neighborhood there were two didi's, both in their forties staying together in a rented apartment. It was 1980s, words like gay, lesbians never even existed in Indian dictionary... And so people just commented why they do not get married, or that they are so good friends!!! As a child I always felt that when people say this and they agree, there is a pain, there is more to them than just being good friends. The way they cared for each other, almost smelled like love. Now I know what it was and why it was not possible for them to admit the truth.... But they had courage to stay together, despite all odds. And as a child I remember them as very good didi's, because they always gave me toffees, or kheer to eat when I used to go to there house... I have no idea what happened to them... But I believe they were good human beings, and definitely not criminals. In their memory I share this video and hope that in India we support equality. All born on this earth should be treated equal. There should be no discrimination based on color, sex, species or sexual orientation... ;)

Varoon, my religion is between Allah and me -- He made me this way. I don't need to listen to those who preach hate in the name of Islam; therefore I am still a Muslim and out and proud gay man!

Its a very far fetched dream for an Indian gay man, but a hope is always comforting and seeing this gives me that hope.

Christians are going nowhere...British are not all Christians many few true Christians are there among all people of all nations... Bible condemns homosexuality as contrary to human nature and if old testament were to be followed these filthy people need to be put to death for defiling humanity... I am an Indian Christian and I follow Bible...those who claim to follow Bible and live as sodomites are not Christians... There is no way christianity has to do anything with sodomy.

Indians needs to respect Hon. Supreme court's verdict and article 377 of IPC. : “Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal, shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to 10 years, and shall also be liable to fine.”

Harshavardhan Devde do u do everything that falls in law i guess not . i wont use a lot of euphemisms but do not foget the section 377 says that " any person who is involved in carnal sex with any man #woman or animal is liable for a punishment" so u cant have anal or oral with a woman or u r equally criminal . and the other thing is being gay is not about having sex its same as being str8 , bi, trans, or any other sexual choice sorry but u r not mature enough

It’s a beautiful reminder that everyone should be warmly welcomed by family, no matter who they are or whom they love. We should all welcome people into our hearts, regardless of who they are or whom they love - an especially important message in light of recent efforts in some countries to reinforce criminalization of same-sex relationships.

What a joyous video - the music and colors and clothes make this coming out an Event! As a gay man in his 60s, I love seeing how far we've come. The UN making and then distributing a video about two loving men coming out to family and friends! I hope this will be the first of many Free & Equal videos showing people of all colors and nationalities coming out to their friends and families!
