    As someone who plays oboe and clarinet everyone get confused between the mouthpieces because the instruments are built the same but the mouthpieces are what make them different instruments and it’s so frustrating to see someone that doesn’t know the difference

    As a bassoonist, I can make several noises using just the reed. It doesn't always need to be used as the world's most difficult kazoo.

    We only have one bassoonist in my band and my favorite part of rehearsal is right at the beginning when she tests her reed. It’s my favorite sound in the world 😂

    I remember in high school we had a song with multiphonics in it from sax and clarinet. It was one of my favorite songs I've ever been a part of. Especially with all the weird percussion sounds and flutter tongue from trumpet.

    As a bassoonist the coolest and weirdest is the lowest note it’s so cool! It sounds like a fog horn and it’s so deep, dark, and mysterious 😂

    Personally, I like to use the flute mouthpiece and either stick my finger in the end and make it a slide whistle; or use the mouthpiece and rapidly cover and uncover the end to make rainforest noises

    The bassoon one is very relatable. But it can sound much weirder especially if you are trying to switch octaves😂Think like a clarinet squeak but not as high pitched (it’s kinda hard to describe). I had to learn the clarinet for marching season but the bassoon will always be my favorite😂

    As a clarinetist, another weird(but fun) sound it can make is if you take the mouthpiece and barrel off(as one), start blowing then change the tightness of your mouth, it can make a very fun noise
