Hey, toy marketer here. I researched these and asked around and turns out they were originally invented by Leonard Shlongson back in the 1941, and were originally meant to clean automobile exhaust pipes. They didn't sell well but he remarketed them as fidget toys 60 years later and were renamed "Wiggle wagglers." I learned all this because I made it up lmao

That’s the exact same story behind Silly Putty! It was invented on accident and was used as a cleaning tool until it was later sold as a toy

I'm the airport person at 2:58. Also I have context. One time in january this year, I flew to florida for a few days to visit a grandparent. I bought a water wiggler in the local souvenir store, and when I was going through the TSA checkpoint, they held me up because it had water inside of it. I lost the wiggler because of them.

thats exactly why i love dinosaurs. they were on this same planet for MILLIONS of years and have been extinct for even more millions of years, yet we still know about them. Its like the people who lived in a house before you did. So us finding their bones, theorizing about them, making movies and toys about them, is just so cute. Not even a GIANT METOR could make them become forgotten forever.

This being lives the life I truly wish I could. Living in an ADHD palace, reviewing silly stuff and fidgets for a living, getting to keep all the fidgets you get for the videos… you truly live the dream

I have the exact same relationship as you do with these and a similarly forgotten mobile game. "Amazing Alex" is a game made by Rovio (anger bird) that released in 2012 and was taken off the app store / discontinued only 2 years later in 2014. It's a silly little 2D physics puzzle game where you setup a chain reaction of events to reach a give goal (e.g. get ball in basket, make book fall on box) set in an average kid's home, garden and treehouse for all of its levels. All the objects were household items you would have found in the average 2000s kids home and each had different properties to make the levels more varied. I think what part this game plays in my life is very similar to the given topic of this video and I just wanted to share this with anyone who may remember this game as it is HEAVY nostalgia for those who remember, especially the music. you can still get some emulators online for this game.

I still have a few of these around. My vivid memory of one breaking was one time my sister and I were staying at the house of our parent’s friends for a week. They were really nice and let us watch TV on their waterbed one night. I was playing with the watersnake and it popped and I felt so bad I was sobbing.

I just bought one from target! though it’s covered in fabric. mine is a shark and a gator. saw em at rain forecast cafe too in fabric

I remember one time when I was in a restaurant, my sister was playing and squishing one of these things and slipping it all over the place cause its fun. Then, all of a sudden, GUSH! A giant flow of water emerges from the bag and the whole thing pops. At least she got the smile emojis inside. 😻

I absolutely love these water wigglers because there absolutely so fun to fiddle with and there always jiggle right out of my hand but they always make me feel happy and relaxed ☺️

I had that exact dinosaur one until one day I went to grab it from the bottom of my bookshelf and found it deflated and the water just not even there. Idk if it busted and dried before I noticed or if it literally evaporated, but I still loved it.

I love how some parts of this video remind me of the Frutiger Aero aesthetic. The Windows Vista/7 visuals, the fishies, and the glossy visuals as well!! :3 If there's water wiggles in my country i might consider buying one.

lol the video I never knew I needed this brought back memories I had one of these once I had got one as a prize in school but never knew what it was even called or how to find them

I used to have one of those! It had little plastic dinosaurs inside it. Super fun, but it unfortunately popped. RIP, weird squishy thing. You were awesome.

Recently I found one of these in a box, broken, and I decided to free the little dinosaurs from their containment before I threw it out. They now live happily inside of my silly box (a box full of silly things)

The reason why we have Earthquakes is pongon shaking the space wiggler. :-D

I still use and play with these! A lot of people do actually- Theyre just called Water Wigglers mainly of course in the fidget community. Theyre just so fun!!

I found one of these randomly at Five Below a couple weeks ago, it's not as cool as your alien theme concept but it has actual alien head flakes floating around in it so that's cool. When I got home I handed it to my sister and watched as chaos ensued LOL

I had two of these and both broke in less then a week, I was sad about it for about an hour and than kept the squishy fish and I've had them till this day

Sharks are really cool critters! I do see them get uwu'ified a lot which i find an issue as they are still wild animals and certain species are aggressive to human- or can unintentionally hurt you without knowing (mainly the larger ones).
