The 'Holle Bolle Gijs' rubbish bins are one of *Efteling's most famous creations! There are currently 11 in the dutch theme park, so Greg and I went on a mission the find them all and learn about the history of these BIZARRE BINS!

Efteling is just fantastic! I visited the park earlier this year and in two weeks i am going again with a group of friends, it never tires on me! Love your Efteling vids! Thnx!

Fun fact: there are actually two more Gijses... Gijzen?... papergobblers in Efteling, but they aren't bins. There is one in the decorative station that the steam train rides past waiting for the train and there is another tiny miniature Gijs in the diorama :)

You forgot the Fish (visje Gijs) on top of the wishpond (wensbron). This statue used to be a holle bolle gijs.

Exactly! There are children who visit the park JUST to clear up rubbish and dry leaves!
I am so proud to work over there 🥰 Hopefully I will meet you once, your videos are so great! Should I tell you something funny. After closing time, Baby Gijs is still crying in an empty park. A bit creepy, because the rest of the music is off.

I'm sure I visited this theme park when I was a young child with our school.. but I just don't seem to recall the name of the one we went to. Would have loved to have seen how they worked or a description of it - I'm just imagining a Henry Hoover inside now 😂

We just really enjoy theme parks! We love that this park is surrounded by tree and nature too, staying here feels a bit like a woodland holiday as well as a chance to see the parks.
