I keep doing research on Salvia trip reports and people say they see gnomes on their psychedelic ventures. I don’t understand why gnomes. Thanks for this insight

That's a new one to me. However according to ChatGPT: There isn't a direct correlation between gnomes and psychedelic trips in a scientific sense. However, gnomes are sometimes associated with whimsical or fantastical elements of the mind, which can sometimes be invoked or perceived during psychedelic experiences. In popular culture and certain spiritual or artistic traditions, gnomes may be depicted as part of a mystical or otherworldly realm that some people might feel they encounter during psychedelic trips. This connection is more about the imagination and cultural symbolism than any inherent link between gnomes and psychedelics.

3 big hits of NN DMT and you can find yourself in this space of the gnomes. when you burst into the space they’re very welcoming. This is how Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd came up with the song, “the gnome” the gnomes have found a new way to say hoooooooray!

Thank for this extemely interesting story !! Of course you could also tall about the minors of capadoce (called the pygmess) who used to carve small statues of gnomes to protect them in the mines, until a german guy copied the idea and braught it back to Thüringen...

Those watching should not confuse the specifc use of garden gnomes as explained here and then the ornaments with the mythical gnomes that have a much older history and are traced back to Scandanavian and later Netherlands areas. Various types of gnomes are part of these myths of which the garden gnomes are one group.

They literally treated human beings like a pet-an animal. An _aquarian_ animal. What did the law say about these arrangements, did they have any regulation/protections at all? What happened when they were sick or injured? Didn’t being coerced into complete solitude affect their mental health? I have so many questions! This is going to ruin my day, people are monsters.

I'm not sure of those details, and would need to do some more research. However, I would imagine that they would take care of them if sick or injured, since the live in hermit was quite revered for those who had them. I would not say they were coerced, since there were job ads out that listed exactly what the contract entailed and even one surviving record of an individual who wrote requesting the job if they would build him a hermitage to stay in. Many places also just build a hermit structure without ever actually hiring a hermit, and would leave items around (spectacles, a cup of tea, etc.) to make it look like the hermit had just stepped away and would be back soon.

On a bright side the gnome would not have to interact with the pompous group of people to which he was employed.

The gnomes are much more on rhe continent and had nothing to do with ornemental hermits. Some say it were in reakity very poor dwarfs, in reality underfed humans from child on, working for food on the farms and living in the forest, others go back to scandinvianmyths.

I would disagree with you in regard to them having nothing to do with ornamental hermits. Based on the book from Professor Campbell who is a professor of Renaissance Studies at the University of Leicester in the UK, there is a connection. Granted the ornamental hermits are just part of the overall story and influence. Link for his book here: amzn.to/467EXBg
