who has? I'm pretty sure that most of the good rappers came up on their own but when it came to albums, and mixtape's, I'm sure that none of the rappers did their whole album by themselves, they have help from their teams, squad, and/or crew. like you need producers. that's just like if I'm rapping in the studio and my home boy gives me a lyric or 2 or 3 ect..... to you guys that would be considered ghost writing no matter how little it may be. Also where he is now is a result of the work he put in to get thier. people say a lot,"only reason he is so successful, is because he has a good team behind him." but have you ever thought of what he had to do to get with that team? he had to put in some type of work. rather it was acting singing or dancing , he still had to grind for his spot.

it's a misunderstanding that drake haters love to do with no facts. There was something that the weeknd said years ago about how half of his album (House of Balloons, which had 9 songs then, released before take care) he gave half the songs for drake to use on take care. What that actually means is between them and we can only speculate, but the weeknd has writing credits on 5 songs, which logically works out as being half of 10. The problem is drake haters straight away have manipulated the narrative, to say half of take care is the weeknd. The ignorance with that is there are 20 songs on take care. The big problem is people like to claim "the weeknd" made take care. These are the same people who "want the old rapping drake back". Very ironic. As weeknd has 5 songs on take care with writing credits. On 1 of these 5 "crew love" he features on. On another one he has background vocals and a hook in it "the ride" but isn't featured. The other 3 are "shot for me", "practice" and "cameras/good girls go interlude". Only 3 of these songs drake actual sings on. He only raps on ride, and crew love. Ironically the only songs with weeknd vocals. Apart from crew love, the other songs charted the worst out of all the others on the album, Making the case take care is good because of the weeknd weak (not claiming the songs are bad, but there's clearly not enough hype for people to claim objectively that these were the "best songs".) This leaves drake with 15 songs that have no influence by the weeknd what so ever. And out of these 15, only 2 are full "singing" tracks (you could argue 3 with "hate sleeping alone", but it has slight rapping on it, which I guess marvins room does) "doing it wrong" and "marvins room". I should also note one is an interlude of just kendrick lamar rapping. the remaining 11 songs, all rap (with some having melodic elements) . See the problem yet? claiming take care is "good" "popular" or even "only existing" etc because of the weeknd?. 15 songs with no weeknd influence... (and before as I said we can't speculate if drakes singing in "cameras/good girls go" "practice" and "shot for me" are lyrics written, melodies created, or simply the beat being passed over, or creating the songs together). We can't know. What we can know is the weeknd does not rap, therefore has no input in drakes rapping (lyrics, flow) on "crew love" and "the ride".... 1) over my dead body - RAP 2) Shot for me - Singing (weeknd credit) 3) Headlines - RAP/Melodic 4) Crew Love ft Weeknd - Drake raps 5) Take care ft Rihanna - sing/melodic rap 6) Marvins room - sing (No weeknd) 7) Buried Alive - Kendrick lamar 8)Underground kings - RAP 9)Well be fine ft birdman - RAP/melodic 10) Make me proud ft nicki minaj - RAP/melodic 11) Lord knows ft rick ross - RAP 12) Cameras (rap) / Good girls go (sing) - Weeknd credit 13) Doing it wrong - Sing (No Weeknd) 14) The real her ft lil Wayne Andre 3k - Sing/melodic rap 15) Look what you've done - RAP/melodic 16) HYFR ft Lil Wayne - Rap/melodic 17) Practice - sing/ melodic rap (Weeknd credit) 18) The ride - RAP (weeknd credit/background vocals) 19) The motto ft lil Wayne Tyga - RAP 20) Hate sleeping alone - Singing (no weeknd) It's an insult to call take care a product of the weeknd, when really looking at it. Be very careful reading things on the Internet that seem to try to have an agenda (and yes I see you could say the same about this very comment) but I have constructed this off of facts and not quotes and rumours on the internet, nor have I denied the potential influences the weeknd had on 5 songs. It's when people try to claim the weeknd made half of take care, when it's quite clear with just the facts I've displayed that it simply is not true.

I been telling people this for sooo Looong.. that Take Care was HEAVILY influenced by The Weekend. People thought Drake found his sound & took it to a New level on that Album but Naw! the style of that Album embodied the Weeknd, not just Crew Love. DRAKE hops in Waves before they become really popular so he get credit for it.

and look where that's got him. his one of the most relevant rappers today. check this out, if you were in drake place (back then when the weekend gave him half of his album to drake), and you knew that you would sell millions of records by doing so would you turn it down? really think on that. drake got so many fans off of take care and so much money, that he wouldn't have if he wouldn't have made that choice. even though it's not his it's still business. he was thinking from a business stand point " what can I do to make myself bigger more relevant and get richer, that's BUSINESS. THATS THE BIG REASON THAT DRAKE IS SO RELAVENT, THATS THE REASON WHY DRAKE IS SI WELL OFF AND IDLED. Because drake has one skill above all else, one mindset that trumps all else, the skill of "BUSINESS", and looking at where it has gotten drake, wouldn't you want to be a great BUSINESS MAN or a great ARTIST. Check this out a a great ARTIST is sayyyy ne-yo, who has wrote hits for, beyonce, rihanna and many others, he's a multi millionaire, BUSINESS MEN is donald trump, Bill gates, Steve jobs..... and xcetera. These are your billionaires. that's speaks for itself.

The way I see this. Drake said: "come with me on tour, I'll get your name out there, give you the exposure you need" Weeknd said: "sure, I'll even help you create some of your album" Here I see Abel thanking Drake for getting him into the bigger market of music but wants a bit more credit for what he contributed. Really they both boosted each other's careers. No harm no foul.

That way everyone makes money especially if nothing much is happening for you. Sometimes you have to wait your time, that's just how the business is. Great lyrics are useless if you don't have ears to listen to them

People are missing the point here!!!!! When drake raps it's all him except a couple verses which he let other writers help. When he sings he brings in help just like every pop artist does in the game. Drake understood that if he wanted to sing he needed it to sound good and it was a god decision not to try to write everything himself. Singing is different from rap music and should be approached a different way. Drake has plenty of songs where she shows he can rap and it's all him with no help. Meek thought Drake did not write at all which it;s said Jayz told him this to get back at Drake for not signing to Tidal. Meek spoke before he did the research and I don;t see how you can discredit Drake because if we are going to talk about rappers stealing styles we would be here all day. Jayz got caught stealing a bunch of lines throughout his career. Wayne had Gilly as a ghost writer. T.I wrote for Bow wow. Missy wrote for people and etc.... Face it Hip hop was always a reality show we just now are realizing it.

It's just a simple as you having Makaveli as your avatar but all I have seen you basically been doing since the whole" Back 2 Back so called slaughter is defend Drake". You representing one of the greatest of all times as your avatar yet you defending someone who can't even come forward about his allegations of not representing authenticity and being true to his "talent" like he is unfadable to L's which is frivolous . The simple fact is that the public fail to realize or like to say is "I don't care it's just all about the music" When someone makes a key point on Drake's failures. So the fuck what if it took people a while to actually catch onto things and site the factual information that Drake uses allot of References,Steals Flows,Music ,Lyrics,Ideas however you want to call it and fools the public into thinking these songs, creations was his original thoughts. Which is okay to some put others respect originality, utilizing your own creative thoughts just because you're credited in the writing credits still doesn't cancel out the fact that those tracks were giving to Drake he didn't think of the melody and compose the songs from his original thoughts. People keep saying" Oh well the artist was credited" Knowing damn well they hear something to their liking they not rushing to look at the book notes of the Album to see who was credited in the song they just gonna hit rewind and repeat. I understand being inspired by other people's work but damn be creative use your own creativity and methodology to produce gems. I would have nothing to say about Drake at all if he already didn't have a history of being unoriginal.

traven64 an artist doesn't always write their own lyrics. This is where producers come in. Just cause an artist writes something doesn't mean it always works with a particular song. Hence getting someone else to write it. Producers put the whole thing together. What works and what doesn't and Sometimes they don't touch anything but because they had the vision and they communicated that idea to the artist, the artist communicated that on wax and...BAM!

Drake is an actor first rapper second. He's jacked all his sounds from his contemporaries and people on the rise. Just to name a few when he jacked Xxxtentaction's flow when X was locked up and even on Dark Lane Demo Tapes recently, when he jumped on Makonnen's Tuesday and then spit the guy out and watched his career fall with no support, took Hotline Bling almost verbatim from Dram's Cha Cha, and the list of Drake's victims goes on and on this is a tiny sliver. He's a good performer of styles but he's mostly a good curator of sounds and a good performer. As an original artist he's unethical and possibly would be nowhere without not just the influence but from climbing on the shoulders of others to get to the top and stay relevant. At the same time he has an ear to the internet/streets for sounds and he can turn it into a mainstream hit. He will be remembered for his hits and perhaps Take Care as an album but other than that its just going to be the billboard hits. I think he has some good complete albums personally but I just don't respect him compared to an artist like The Weeknd, Kanye, Travis, and other major rappers who gave up their sound and their vibe to get a bit of shine and were able to use that sacrifice to get their own artistic recognized. Weeknd started as a producer song writer came up from Drake co-sign. Kanye came up as a producer turned unique songwriter with a different fashion sense on the tails of Jay Z. Travis Scott was a producer for Kanye and lots of other artists and gained enough exposure to become a mainstream level artist. The difference is that some of those artists actually write a lot of their lyrics and have their own unique styles. Drake however continually jacks flows, styles, and even songs continually to maintain his success. The hate for Drake creates an opposition for him of people who love him seeing him as this hated character in their eyes being hated for no reason. Even if Drake's albums are mostly ghost written and he's an actor performer first. To me it takes a lot of respect out of his name and legacy but I also can separate the drama from the art and enjoy Drake's music. I've bought 3 of his albums cash. Take Care Deluxe, Scorpion, and Dark Lane Demo Tapes. I've also streamed his other albums like Views, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, etc. So basically Drake is more of a Snake than a scorpion and is definitely a hip hop culture vulture but a talented one. I can overlook his flaws and enjoy the music but in the back of my head its sort of a joke like I'm listening to a movie from an actor reading lines rather than inspired original artwork. I have to put myself in this suspension of disbelief to really enjoy Drake music. The same thing when you get lost in a fantasy movie and something totally illogical happens but you let it slide because you want to enjoy what you are seeing.
