tell your friends was meant to be on kanyes album. he gave the song to the weeknd and tweaked it to fit more into the overall album style so they decided to take out his part. theres another version (the original version) in which kanyes part is still on it and thats why genius has the lyrics for his part. nice reaction btw, your voice is very calming in the best possible way :)

I love Real Life, Losers, Shameless, Aquainted, Often, Angel are my TOP off this album but on his first projects the 3 mixtapes I basically love every single song. When someone put so much passion and dedication to their work its really hard to hate- the uniqueness is what I love most about The Weeknd's music and vocals like no other ,he's in his own lane. Just keep in mind it's nothing to relate to its his life experiences.

​@@pathreacts Idk if you ended up finding out already, but that is Kanye's verse there. His vocals are autotuned distorted to the fkn maximum with heavy EQ and reverb on it to make it almost sound like a synth. But if you listen closely you can sort of hear words. Specifically at 3:03 in the song you can almost make out the lyrics "Tryna be at the wrong place at the wrong time."

With The Weeknd it's better to listen to his projects in order so you see the change in the character slowly with every album, and that's why After Hours and Dawn FM hit so hard. Hope you keep diving into it. XO

@@pathreacts Yeah, a lot of his fans love it because of the dark vibe, and it's cool to see where he came from. But you probably should listen to each mixtape separately because 30 songs isn't an easy ride (just divide the album in 3). Hope you like it. XO.

The last lines in "the hills" is in Amharic language (Sampled from Ethiopian song) and translate to: "I love you My beautiful, I love you My love love love love My love love love love I love you My beautiful, I love you"

Angel is one of my top 3 from Weeknd. Gives me goosebumps when I listen to it

Last part of the hills is in Amharic (Official Language of Ethiopia) When translated it basically means Ewedihalehu (I love you), yene konjo (my pretty), yene fikir (my love) You couldn't find it because amharic uses its own alphabet and lyrics was written using English alpahbet. Nice Reaction 👌 Hope you'll do more of the weeknd albums, cheers

The reason the hills felt a lil empty was because it wasnt blasting from the dying speakers of an 07 corolla doing 47 on a state route at 2am with the windows down rattling the entire car and the 4 goofy ahh patrons within

I think the only songs I don’t like on this one are the features😩 and you gotta do the 3 trilogy mixtapes, people still think that’s his best work and it was super influential to the r&b scene (I’ll warn you it’s extremely dark tho lol). and the language in The Hills is Amharic, Abel is Ethiopian and that’s his first language

Personally, I told my daughter that she can listen to it when she's 18🤣😭🤣😭 she knows new Weeknd not the ole Weeknd when in his R&B bag. You will love it either way XO

I feel like this album is more of a car album if that makes sense. Alot of the build ups lead to heavy bass that you cant really hear with most headsets, takes a surround sound type vibe to feel the songs more, if that makes sense. I can picture listening to this over and over in my car that had a super good sound system and it seems to change the dynamic a bit. Such a solid album. And i do get that some people might find heavy bass as a drop lame, but the vibes from the songs fit well with the bass.

im recording in OBS, so the music & my voice are recorded to the same file! the warpish sounds are because im trying to process my own voice (de-esser, de-clicker, plosive remover, peak limiter). also played around with auto-leveling in some of these early reaction videos. since its just one file it does morph the song a bit. the newer reactions are processed a little better, i think :) * not intended to deter copyright lol i dont think theres a way around it

"Tell your friends" was originally for Ye's (kanye west's) scrapped sequel album "yeezus 2" it had drake + the weeknd. but he gave it to the weeknd hence he produced it and is found on the song. You can still find the original version with drake and him.

The reason why Kanye’s verse is gone is actually not beef but something much simpler, Kanye produced “Tell Your Friends” and it was supposed a collab track with The Weeknd on his (now scrapped) album “Yeezus II”. However due to Kanye not wanting to release it anymore he gave the track to The Weeknd which he put out because he really did like it. I love this album so much. I feel like Often through In The Night is almost flawless, but it kinda falls off until Angel which is an incredible closer to the album. The only reason it's not one of my favorite Weeknd outros is because he's really damn good at them and has a few better ones (Tears In The Rain, Heaven or Las Vegas, Until I Bleed Out)

Probably found the answer already, but Tell Your Friends was a Kanye demo that he gave to Abel after Abel started riffing on it and it fit his project better. Abel san FML for him in return. The tea is likely Ye couldn't figure out what to do with the loungy track as he was going through thousands of demos during this era for the album that eventually became The Life Of Pablo, so no verse. Just some A1 auto-tune humming.

thanks! i dont think it was humming, it sounds like they just synthesized his verse in post (you can hear the inflections) but im curious why they didnt just cut out that verse completely at that point. some people told me there is a version out there somewhere with Kanye's verse, too!

hey, I appreciate that! though i can see why some channels would want to do only positive reactions: - for one, i loved loved loved Flower Boy! and that positive reaction is now also the most viewed one on my channel. i do think people like to seek out reactions for albums they love, and bonus points if the reaction is positive as well. - two; backlash is scary! i was nervous to put out my reaction to Echoes of Silence because I didn't really like the album. i was afraid that people would shun/leave me for not liking a cult classic. but im really glad im putting my honest response out there! the point of this channel in the first place was to log my initial thoughts on new stuff i listen to, and it would be completely off course if i filtered out those thoughts lmao. plus, haven't had the pitchforks on EOS like i thought i would, so i feel like im in a pretty safe space right now :)
