The Waves We Were Caught In (Original) / Born To Die (Lana Del Rey)
Музыка
A song about lost love, and doubts over the validity of memories. I sing a part of Born To Die by Lana Del Rey towards the end, I began doing this as it just felt right one day, and now I can't imagine the song without it. I'll highlight her lyrics in {{ these }} below. I'll also put a link to my favourite performance of Born to Die. Thank you for watching.
Lyrics
Do you remember when I walked you home
I used to think you could call it love
But now, now I know a little bit better
It must have been that I've imagined things
Nothing's like I remember it
And you, you're acting like you never even knew me
Although the waves we were moved in, were fleeting, it's fine
It's all the lie-ins, and movies, that play on my mind
When I'm alone...
Don't know how to do it without you
I never noticed, you were the loneliest girl, in the world
Praying and hoping, feeling alone, like we all do
{{ It's like I told you, honey...
Don't make me sad, don't make me cry
Sometimes love is not enough
And the road gets tough, I don't know why
Keep making me laugh, let's go get high
The road is long, we carry on
Try to have fun in the meantime... }}

Beautiful Izzy, being able to put your feelings into a song is a gift. Live music is so welcome in this world of overproduced and auto tuned music, loved it.

Wow, that was a pleasure to listen to! What stuck out the most is the melody and how well it flows, as well as the dynamics of your voice. I really like when you sing the lower tones. The chorus is beautiful 🤩

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I have been told recently that those lower tones hold something special for me. I’ve been exploring reworking a few songs with that in mind. More to come soon.

I wish I was as eloquent as you are when analyzing a song. Guess I'll just enjoy it. I love the textures in your voice, the melody and the lyrics bring the past alive. More please ❤

I’ve always respected you as a musician when watching your Ren reactions even without having ever heard your music. I’m really happy to have heard your music now, I really enjoyed it and you have a tone to your voice that I really like. It reminds me of the great old school British rock/punkrock where the imperfections bring just as much to the music as the perfections does, if that makes sense… I’ll for sure be looking forward to hearing more of your music man :) Edit: almost forgot! I liked the original lyrics as well!

It does make sense! I'm a fan of emotion content over "perfection" in music. Something real, y'know. Thanks for the kind words! More coming soon.
Sorry i have to be honest! That was bloody good mate! I listened to this song 4 times and the thing that stood out to me was the beautiful textures in your vocals, especially in the 2nd half of the song . Also great lyrics, I can definitely relate to them..... Really enjoyed it..... More please..... Thanks Izzy.....

Thanks, Lou! I wasn't. I'm not aware of them. I know Radiohead of course, but didn't pay much attention to them, until I came across this great cover by Pacifica, last year.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pJOg0bOtYZS-fbg.htmlsi=hu2csYx0R2g_tM9W

@@IzzyIzenstain thank you for your kindness in taking (and having) time to reply. I'm trying to recall the reaction you did where I responded emotionally to what (something) you read aloud. I thought it may be an original...could've been you reciting a favorite poem...maybe a poem? You mentioned how you were hesitating posting some of your latest creations. I clicked the link above and was BESIDE MYSELF for a few minutes. I hadn't heard that one from Radiohead. I sub'd to their channel (edit) BTW I something in your inflections while singing reminded me of the song mentioned by PHYLAD Silent Lucidity....the way you drop your throat and "scooped" a lower note. And the melancholy groove and lyrics felt Radiohead...to me. Great content.
